  1. Lah lah lah, I'm not listen-ing...
  2. Just... just... look, cast who you want, let George Lucas write it, hire Uwe Boll as director... do what the hell you want. Just leave the composer alone. We'll watch it with our eyes closed if need be.
  3. Pff, some SF franchises have been doing time travel for forty years. Its not so hard... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez6af3tXBng&...feature=related
  4. Good grief, I thought this kind of question died with VHS and Daisy-Chained fansub recordings...! One other thing to watch out for, though I doubt it will affect you - Blu-Ray DVD regions are different to "normal" DVD regions. You know, they actually considered dropping region-encoding during the format wars...
  5. I may well be wrong on this, but I seem to recall it was a Green Lantern title that caused the trouble. Or maybe they just saw some of the stuff he was doing/had done for 2000AD in the UK and tried to head him off at the pass...
  6. Seems that whoever the next Who is, it won't be Robert Carlyle: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2008/12/robert-carlyle.html Daleks everywhere breathe a sigh of relief, Goa'uld start bricking themselves.
  7. While discussing the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, just a little trivia - in the 1980s, artist Kevin O' Neill was the only artist ever to have his entire style disapproved by the Comics Code Authority...!
  8. Its an interesting collection of ideas, but just unfortunately a victim of having been planned as a TV series but instead made as a movie. I didn't use to like the F-91 design before I saw it - the torso always put me in mind of one your big US Peterbilt-style lorries - sorry, I mean, trucks - but having seen it in action, its grown on me quite a bit. Cecily, one of the lead characters, is the Queen of the Race of Ginger. Seriously. Shes the most red-headed red-head its possible to be. She makes Rupert Grint look like a pale blonde. (in case, anyone thinks I'm trying to be biased against that particular hair pigment, I wish to point out that I think shes lovely!).
  9. Oh, I don't think its crap yet - I'll wait until I've at least seen the first episode to form a definite opinion. But I do wonder if Kawamori is trying to connect with his inner Funk, y'know?
  10. Know what I'm suddenly thinking? "Are you funky enough to be a Globetrotter? Are you?" "Yes?" "ARE YOU?"
  11. I recently saw F-91 - interesting, but (as everyone points out) just too story-compressed. I'd loved to have known what Tomino would have done with a TV series. Does the F-91 come with a Cecily? 'cos if it does, you're going to have a bit of a painting challenge. There isn't a pigment in the Universe thats red enough...
  12. Is that music by who I think it is?
  13. Link also works for me...? And... er... I wanted to leave Macross as a... um... surprise. Yeah, surprise! Thats it!
  14. As far as I'm aware, all the "standalone" bodies have only been available through Konamis web-site. It might be possible to obtain them through third parties - e-bay, celga, etc (I managed to get one as a "one-off" through a contact in Japan). Customs will no doubt be highly amused by the fact that the bodies are labelled "Naked" on the packaging...
  15. Thanks! Its an old picture I've posted before, but just wanted to show again what you can do with the figures.
  16. I think we'd better keep "Pete" away from "BattleTech" for a whiles...
  17. I have a couple. They're pretty cool, though theres usually a lot of parts and you might need a plastic organiser tray to keep hold of them. Some of the limbs use really, really tiny connecting rings that are easily lost, as are some other small parts. They can be a pain to pose - weak rubber hands are a bit of an annoyance for those sets with really big guns - but they're better in this respect than Micromen. Conversely, some parts "fix" really well, so be sure you want to insert a particular part because you might find yourself keeping it that way. Also, beware some figures in blister packs - I bought a couple intending to use them as "spare" bodies and found that they had moulded parts that meant I couldn't use them for that purpose - and that some sets, like the Waffe Bunny, are accessory sets only and require a "base" body separately. Yes, all your cash are belong to Konami. Having said all that, they tend to photo well and with some imagination can make great scenes! Plus, cute girls with guns! Whats not to like?!
  18. http://www.animeremix.org/operationbritish/ "Chip-tune", old-skool renditions of famous Gundam themes, plus a few other mecha shows thrown in for good measure. "Beyond the Time" in particular, from Chars Counterattack, sounds very much like the last, long-lost OutRun theme in this version. But they're all terrific. Minus points only for picking "Century Colour" above "Turn-A Turn".
  19. Given the way this thread is going, the following line is mandatory: "He SLIMED me!"
  20. "Why do they call you J.C., J.C?" Theres a very old joke about this. In the future, aeroplanes will have a crew of three: a computer, which does the actual flying. A man, who is there for insurance purposes. And a dog, whose job is to bite the man if he attempts to touch the controls.
  21. Professor Brian Cox will be hosting the BBC science programme Horizon this evening, which is about Time. You might find the music starting at about 0:47 in this trailer familiar:
  22. Wish I'd been old enough to understand Halo Jones more back then...
  23. I've just started watching it. Mecha can run up-hill in anime!
  24. <Pling><SSSS>"Yes."<Whnnn><Tinkle>.
  25. Thank you, just wish I'd figured out the joints a bit more so that the poses were a bit more exciting!
