  1. Thanks for the new pics Graham. One question, is the visor on the 25S clear green plastic or just painted on? That pilot is really tiny. When the DX VF-25G is released, you could pretend the pilot is micloned Klan Klan (as seen in ep 25) instead of Michael. It'd be about the right size.
  2. Another gallery of the 25F. http://d.hatena.ne.jp/type97/20081226
  3. Cuz you haven't been reading through this thread carefully that's why. Here're the links to the posts in this thread with pics of the G and RVF in various modes for your viewing pleasure: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=694851 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=695099 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=695730 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=695891 What's worse (to me at least) is that it will probably come in the extremely cheap looking unpainted glossy plastic like the gun pods for the F and S variants. The DX figures would have looked better if unpainted matte plastic was used. It probably wouldn't match the painted die-cast parts but they don't match now anyway on the actual figure.
  4. I started out as a supporter of the DX but have since strayed over to the hater camp now that I've seen what the final retail toy looks like. From the moment we saw the first prototypes and test shots, I knew we weren't getting a toy with as much attention to detail and line art accuracy as 1/60 Yamatos. It at least looked alright for a gokin toy in the promo pics but the mass release piece just looks shoddy. Cheap looking unpainted glossy plastic which doesn't match the painted die-cast parts, inaccurate scaling and wrongly scaled non-removable pilot figure among various other problems don't even qualify it as a decent gokin toy now in my book now much less a collector's grade valk. Every cloud has a silver lining I guess. Now that I have decided not to buy any of the DX VF-25s, I have spare cash to get MP Grimlock instead.
  5. Thanks for the photos Graham. Wasn't expecting the pilot to be non-removable but given all the other "problems" on the toy, I can't say I'm surprised. Not being true 1/60 scale sucks. Imho, the unpainted glossy plastic makes the toy look cheap in the photos seen so far. I wonder if it really looks like that in person. Also, that knife is reeeaallly blunt. Now I'll have to reconsider if I still want to get the DX VF-25G. Maybe I'll get MP Grimlock with the money instead.
  6. With all the shortcomings of the current version of the DX, I can see Bandai doing renewal versions some time down the line like they've done for SOC GX-01 and SPEC XS-01. There's enough stuff on the toy they can change and sell again as a new figure. While I've never been a DX hater, now that I've seen the final mass release version of the toys, I just can't help feeling disappointed.

  8. Gallery of VF-25S in fighter mode. EDIT: Now updated with Gerwalk mode. http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-82795-1-1.html
  9. New official images of VF-25F (w/web shop exclusive super pack), VF-25G (w/super pack) and RVF-25 (w/super pack). The white markings on the super packs are present in these new pics.
  10. Advert for the Proshop clear VF-25F. Late Jan release, 4,725yen. http://www6.ocn.ne.jp/~midori-b/newpic/nes-g0903.htm
  11. Sadly, the white plastic parts on VF-25F are unpainted and don't match the glossy look of the painted die-cast hips. The two screw details on the shield were also left unpainted.
  12. Thanks for the scan Graham. Can't really tell about the neck on Ozma's valk but it does look better in the scan than in previous pics. The legs/engine nacelles don't come up as high as in the line art but they're definitely placed higher in these images which cuts out the drop between the shield and legs (especially so on the 25G shown in the scan). EDIT: Even though this month's hobby magazine scans show us the DX 25G in fighter and Gerwalk modes for the first time, we unfortunately will have to wait a little longer to see how the Dragunov sniper rifle looks in fighter mode with the short landing gear. Also, the biceps on the final production 25S battroid is in a darker shade of gray. The test shot's was in the same light gray as the rest of the arm.
  13. Other than the Gallia 4 rescue ep, the only other time I can recall Michael's valk w/o super pack was in ep 2. The DX VF-25G looks the most appealing of the DXs so far imo (still waiting to see if Ozma's VF-25 has a proper neck and how the armor pack will turn out), plus it has the added benefit of having the super pack in the same package.
  14. Tamashii.jp states its scale as 1/60. http://tamashii.jp-network.co.jp/item/item...53&pref=301 http://tamashii.jp-network.co.jp/item/item...54&pref=301 1/60スケール = 1/60 scale
