  1. Awesome project, took me a bit to read everything. I have modelled the GU-11 in Solidworks to human scale that you could scale up if you want it. I saw on page 7 you were after it, don't know if you got it or not.
  2. Ha, a full suit is not the plan but would be awesome... I don't think I'm flexible enough to do the different modes though.
  3. I have ears, they will work as padding.. won't they? Once I finish all the main parts I'll tape it up and see. is there anyone here good with electronics that you can point me to for help with servos and drivers?
  4. Now the stress is I might not have made it big enough for my head. I reckon another 5mm wider is needed.. I might have to make a strip for down the centre or the kids are going to have a cool toy ..
  5. Stuffed up some printer settings but it came out good enough.
  6. I don't think it would last long on a coffee table at my house, I've got a 2 year old boy who's into everything and a 3.5 year old who shows the youngest how to get into everything haha .. it'll sit on a shelf
  7. The ultimate goal would be to have the lasers move on a servo motor or something, that is well beyond me though..
  8. Don't know about the figures yet, still on the fence about it.. One laser down, 6 pieces to build and key together. And top rhs on head done ..
  9. Funny, I don't watch tv or go to the movies or even read about the movies. Didn't know it as made..
  10. Don't know what gits is .. wanna tell Me please. I'm doing this for me, I won't be taking it to any shows, I've never been to a comic convention
  11. Well after the Lancer 11 was printing well I thought I'd have a crack at something else. I always thought it would be rad to have a VF-1S helmet that I can wear, so a couple (read lots) of hours later ... Bamm... The lasers will rotate together so I can roll them down and go pew pew. First part off the print.
  12. Ha, well I did model it in 1:1 for a reason... I have a full machine shop (lathes up to 500mm diameter and 3 metres long, mills, laser cutters, welders etc etc) so once the design is complete I can start building a real one hahahaha. I'm going to get all my model kits out of storage and see what I have and scale from there.
  13. Terrible phone camera but you get the idea
  14. Hmm 1:60, oh well I'll just have to print another .. YOTL II .. I better get a fleet happening..
  15. Hi, I modelled a Lancer II 1:1 scale and built an assembly in Solidworks, still need to do the cockpit but I'm fairly happy so far. On the weekend I got a 3D print so I've scaled it to 1:100 and modified the model to make it usable. Changed some of the details and removed others. In the process of printing now, Radar wing is done and I cut the main body down the middle for easy printing, also finished. I've had the printer for 2 days and have only printed 2 supplied models before trying this so I've got some learning to do. Hopefully I'll have a physical model to post a picture of tomorrow On the subject of scale, What scale do most people work to?
  16. Rad, I got excited about 3D-B drawing this so I started one as well.. this will help thanks.. Not gonna show anyone though, still pretty rough compared to above.. What do you guys do with the Cad models?
  17. Well done, this is awesome... Mr March, I would take you up on the line art if you're offering
  18. Great work, I hope you are modelling in 1:1 scale.. I have thought about building this in solidworks for a while, I just don't have the time to invest.
