I think the script for the first one was okay aside from Kingpin finding out that Murdock was Daredevil already. I agree with Exo that the other factors killed the movie, although I saw nothing wrong with DD's D&M suit.
-
I don't have one for sale but this is the best figure from the old BTAS line.
-
Looks okay but it doesn't seem Minmay enough to me.
-
Nice. My only problem is that I didn't think of it first!
-
Nice report and pics. It's interesting to see from the eyes of someone that wasn't a registered member beforehand. Glad that you had a good time too.

Aight hook me up with a better one. 1 XL

You can see the rest via my Photobucket Album:MacrossWorld Pics
Thanks for the pics you posted, but the link doesn't work to your photobucket.
-
Duh. Just look at the shirts.
-
Don't know how well you can tell by the pics but this thing is HUGE. I thought Kiririth was crazy for attempting such a project 2 days before con but he pulled it off. And the fans have spoken, they like you....they really like you. haha
-
Sugoi! Sugoi! now that's Deculture!!!!
They look great Valkyrie22. I hope their prizes weren't shot glasses.
Oops.
We renamed them milk glasses.
-
anyways... i think all the prizes for the customs contest were great and even for the rest of the contests.... what prizes did you have in the past for customs contests??? has there ever been anything as good as this year??
In the past contest prizes were typically donated by members and sent to >EXO< for safekeeping. I think Kevin from Valkyrie-Exchange donated something pretty much every year. And Solscud is right I think one of the best prizes was the YF-21 FP he donated one year. Oh and we also had a low viz joke machine the year that ChristopherB won with his valkyrie hangar with moving arm and Blue Roses custom 1/48.
-
By this time tomorrow >EXO< will be a youtube star!
-
Yeah the pics are crappy but the custom itself is pretty sweet. I found it hard to believe that all the details were painted on. There are no stickers on there!
-
So many great pics....and all I can say is....my head looks huge! Almost looks as big as Bobe-Patt's!

Thanks to Kiririth for organizing the Con and for having the idea to have flyers at Anime Expo and to get sponsors for this year's prizes. I think this con was the best yet and was probably one of the largest as well.
Special thanks to all the sponsors. Please visit them and buy their stuff!

Also a BIG thank you to Save for all the items he was able to acquire for the Con especially the Mikimoto sketch.
Thanks to all the event participants for bringing their stuff to show, sell, and for us regular folks to ooh and aah over.
Unfortunately I didn't get to meet very many people this year but it was great seeing so many new faces...and some old faces making a return.
If you guys have any feedback about the Con please post it so we can make next year's even better!

I'm sure Kiririth will post up the winners but here's what I remember off the top of my head:
Cosplay Contest - Shot Glass (Although due to the winners we renamed it a milk glass)
Michael and Ranka (Max and Miriya) They were the only people that cosplayed but I get the feeling they would have won even if there was competition.
Pre-reg Opportunity Drawing - Shot Glass
Gabe Q won out of all the pre-reg people. Pre-reg early next year peeps and win stuff!
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Tournament - $50 BBTS gift certificate, GNU YF-21
snip312 won the tourney to receive the BBTS gift certificate...not that there was any doubt on any of the locals' minds. Bobe-Patt got 2nd due to his lucky draw in the tourney brackets...haha...to receive the GNU YF-21
Customs - 25th Anniversary VF-1S, Urban GBP, $50 BBTS gift certificate x 2
Rohby won with his amazing Minmay Guard Thunderhammer. He had more than 40% of the fan vote.
Kirirth won 2nd with his Special Happy Funtime Plush Valk which was completely handmade.
NightmareB4Macross won honorable mention with his valkyrie hangar.
hirohawa got honorable mention for his P51 Mustang Valk
Poker - 1/60 YF-21, 1/60 VF-0A, Popbox Max Jenius doll, Shot Glass, Frontier Poster
bigkid24 - I defended my title by sucking out on Lance. He had A9 suited and I had A2 off-suit. The blinds were pretty high and I thought he was making a move. I got lucky with a 2 on the turn to win with a pair of ducks. Sorry Lance!
Lance took 2nd after playing a solid game and dealing with being moved to the other table.
Maria - Eternal D's girlfriend, took 3rd after my repeated attempts at busting her out of the tourney
Eternal D - took 4th
>EXO< - took 5th
Mikimoto Sketch winner
ruskiiVFaussie - it's been posted in a few places so if you didn't already know then you haven't been reading
Other opportunity drawings - shot glasses, Frontier posters, vendor exclusive weathered YF-19
Not sure who won what but I'm pretty sure these were some of the winners
Major Tom
xstoys
snip312 x2
Gabe Q
bigkid24
All I remember is that snip312 won 2 shot glasses and I won the grand prize of the GNU YF-19. I swear it wasn't fixed!
Chunky Monkey transforming contest - $50 BBTS gift certificate
The early favorite was Mechatek after transforming the 1/55 in 17 seconds the night before. We added some rules so that for the final pose so that everything was standard. Solscud007 posted the best time in the prelims. In the finals against Eternal D, Solscud was a little slower but still won fairly easily and even gave out the secrets to his speed.
Unfortunately, we ran out of time for the Macross Plus video game tourney and the Macross trivia contest was just an epic fail! Wait no. It was EPIC FAIL!

I like the boxes especially compared to the last reissue. I think it would have been nice if they had reissued the white VF-1S by itself though just to switch it up
-
Yeah SpideyJerusalem....I think his name was Will and his shop was based out of Temecula I think. Customer service-wise he seemed like a stand up guy and offered some great prices on stuff. I remember the legal defense fund but didn't realize that he disappeared off the face of the earth after that. That's too bad.
-
It's a terminology thing. It's a $25 donation to play in the poker tourney to try to win one of the prizes. We are trying to get people to pre-reg for the tourney but last year we allowed late comers to register for the tourney. Once you are busted out of the tourney you cannot re-donate to get back into the tourney. Once you're out, you're out.

We have a sick amount of freebies and prizes to give away this year. Much more than any previous year so this is the year to come if you love free stuff. I've seen all the stuff as it has come in and everything is so tempting to try and win especially the Mikimoto sketch. I just assumed it was on a piece of sketchbook paper or something but it's more substantial than that. It'll look great hanging in my...uh....some lucky MW member's collection.
As for the poker tournament, come one come all to try to dethrone last year's poker tournament champion....ME! Of course, as long as I place I'll be happy. All of the prizes this year are great.
-
We still have a lot of seat open for the poker tournament so start inviting your friends to come out!!
Yeah so come out and play with the poker donks of MW! Fold to the top! Or at least to 3rd for that Max doll!
I'm conducting the Macross Trivia contest which is a first for MW con this year. Everyone should be able to participate. Trivia will span all of the Macross animes. If it's stated or done in the anime that's what I'm going by. I'm not including other sources such as books, manga, or whatever else. If there is anything you haven't watched now is the time or you can make a request during the show screenings on Saturday.
-
That's pretty cool but I'd like to see profile pics or something to get a better idea of how it transforms. The way movie TFs transform I feel like that could be any vehicle.
-
I was tempted to grab this at Target the other day but knowing how the other DC animated stuff has been I was reluctant to get it. Is the 2nd disc included in the Special Edition worth paying the extra money for? Or is the regular version good enough.

Boo......wait for it.....Bee's done a great job organizing

I believe they are going to be web only episodes and they are obviously aimed at a more mature audience.
