Dec 19, 2025Last month we submitted a test disc for review.
While no major issues were found, there were a number of small changes that needed to be made, mostly related to the formatting of our reconstructed opening and ending credits -- there were some constraints that we were not aware of when we originally created them. We have spent the last month fixing all the issues and confirming that our fixes are correct.
We are now producing another test disc for final review. If no further problems are detected, then we expect to receive approval in early January. We then need to produce the UHD version of the disc (which is a straightforward process) and put the disc into mastering and replication. This can take 6-8 weeks depending on how busy the pressing plant is.
We are also expecting the results of the review of the artbook and packaging before the end of the year. Handling any corrections should be relatively straightforward, so these should not cause any additional production delays; when the discs arrive, we'll be ready to ship.
Thus, our current shipping estimate is NET (no earlier than) late February. We know this is later than anyone wants, but everyone here (and in Japan) wants to ensure that you receive something that is as close to perfect as humanly possible.

My copy of DYRL 4K has arrived. I only ordered the regular edition, so no poster for me. Still, a very nice presentation. I second a request made previously: if someone can translate the booklet, it would be greatly appreciated.

I also have the 3 volume animeigo set. But, I replaced every case with easier to remove ones because the discs were also showing some cracking & I wanted to be able to remove them without further damaging them.

Cautiously optimistic as well. I like that it doesn't go for grotesque grim dark.

Mine also came in that same box type with only the bare minimum of paper for padding. I'm surprised there was no damage, despite it having to go through the US/Canada border.

I received mine today. Like a lot of people are saying, it's very heavy and very big. I have not yet had the chance to open it yet, but I'm jokingly expecting a laserdisc set to be included in there. It's that big. I'm glad to finally have this.

Since it finished at over 400K, Robert indicated that it had reached a next level stretch goal, but did not specify if this goal would be a physical or digital item.
I'm not sure what I would want, but I know for sure I would want a physical item. Digital items tend to vanish.

UHD / 4k resolution is now available, either by paying extra $10 or if it meets $351k funding.
My kickstarter settings are set to Canadian dollars. When I looked at the progress so far, I saw 351K and I almost celebrated, until I saw it was in Canadian dollars. As I type this, it's still only at 266K US. It's getting there.

This thing was funded in less than a day. I think it's safe to say that Macross fans are out there.

I just finished watching it. Overall, I liked it. I found, for this movie, that the dog fights were easier to follow then some of the other movies (Macross or otherwise).
The music worked well. The songs were well placed for the scenes they were put in.
SpoilerI was actually very impressed that they didn't shoe horn in Do You Remember Love. I mean, I love the song, but it was nice that the film went their own way.

Just finished watching it. Overall, I liked it very much. While there were obvious changes from the comic, it still retained that right feeling.
The cast is good, not just the main characters, but the guest stars as well. No one seemed like they were phoning it in, they all seemed like they wanted to bring those characters to life and they succeeded very well.

I've watched only 2 episodes so far (I'm taking my time).
So far, it's good. Despite some minor liberties in adapting from the comic, the show feels right and that's a win for me.

The Nacelle shot during the Kirk, Spock, McCoy officer's lounge scene was added in the 2001 edition.

Haven't posted in this forum in a long time, but for this incredible good news, I'm here for it.
Hopefully, this really does allow home video distribution of all the various series.
