  1. Not sure which part you mean so I'll answer for both. The eyeport is just styrene plastic, the gunpod tip is a resin cast.
  2. I noticed that too. Also, the gunpods. I don't know if it's the same one but this is the second time I seen your custom without the tip. Maybe it a kosher gunpod. My custom made eyeport cover came off when I was transforming it. I never glued it on becuase it hinders the process when trying to manuver the head through the backplate. The gunpod is the same as before, still haven't put the tip on. I'll get to that someday, maybe
  3. Here is my Low Vis w/ armor. I added some Kotobukiya nozzles. I didn't realize it, but the blue I used is almost the same as the reissue Super armor color.
  4. Awesome work. That is my next planned 1/55 custom.
  5. No real tricks to painting a 1/55. Here is my process: 1. remove all decals and use goo gone to get the stickiness off. 2. clean with a soft toothbrush to get dust and crud. Soap and water can aid this. 3. quick rubdown with alcohol 4. take the sucker apart - remember what parts go together and what screws go where. The screws are basically identical throughout, but the threading is sometimes off and can make it hard to replace later. 5. using a Wizard (or Dremel), sand down areas that will rub. I do the tail wings, the underside of the back plate where the main wings sweep in, the airbrake hinge, the inner part of the forearms where the hand slides, the shoulders, the elbows, and the knees. 6. use primer if you are radically changing the color, or using a light color, like orange or yellow. Otherwise, primer is optional for me. Make sure you allow a few hours drying time before touching the parts. 7. clearcoat everything before reassembly 8. touchup then reapply clearcoat after assembly. Hope that helps. Please PM if you have any other questions.
  6. it is Evergreen Models styrene plastic. I know its used for model railroading and probably for other stuff as well. It somes in sheets. I used a 1.0 mm sheet. It can be cut with sharp scissors or an exacto knife. Costs about $3-4 per sheet.
  7. Thanks! The whole valk is coated w/ Krylon Satin finish, I think the shine comes from the camera flash. The blue is actually darker then what showed up, its closer to the blue of the decals. And no, I don't plan to panel line at this time.
  8. The border was something I added to the reissue 1A head. I thought it need something extra. Its made from styrene plastic.
  9. Thanks for all the compliments guys. As for the gunpod, I didn't chop it, it was broken off. I have a tip to replace it with, just need to make a mold of it first, for any future gunpods in similar condition.
  10. about three weeks of on and off work. I have no idea of the actual hours spent on it as I would bounce back and forth with other projects while that was drying, setting, etc.
  11. sorry, here is the 3rd pic
  12. pic 2 , backside this time
  13. After suffering a nasty laceration while replacing a scalpel blade at work, I managed to finish up my low vis custom. Decals from Devin of course. Armor is next whenever I have the time.
  14. I finess it. I had to hollow out the neck to make it fit on the peg, in doing so, I damaged the peg that the screw would go into. I wouldn't see any reason why it wouldn't transform like a normal 1/55 head though.
  15. I got the file attachment to work here's the pics:
  16. well, whatever happened seems to have fixed itself
  17. posted to wrong forum, sorry. please delete if you can.
  18. I've tried both and neither work for me. Thats why I am asking for help, is there a trick I am missing here? When I use the file attachment section, I select the picture (making sure its not too big first) and it seems like its ready to go, then when I preview the post, no pic at all. When I use the IMG key,I type the URL, then I get a box with a red X and it just says user posted image.
  19. Is there a guide to uploading a picture into a message? I have tried numerous times to load pictures from my website and also right off my computer and they never work. I searched in the help section but nothing came up. I am tired of having to upload the pics to my website then linking to the page and having the bandwidth exceded. Any help is appreciated.
  20. Thanks, No fighter mode pics, it looks odd in fighter mode IMHO. I'll take some and post them when I am able.
