  1. Untitled_1.jpg

...after massive air raid of 2 bases: cookie and richboy...

    Untitled_2.jpg

...put it into the war, start ground attack on the bases of JAM...

    Untitled_5.jpg

    ...all units launch SAM...

basically, the ep4's story is about Rei and Booker(I don't know how to spell) return to earth to test new engines, with 3 JAM fighters followed, before they sunk the Japanese carrier, was shot down by Yukikaze. after a stuning landing on the carrier, Rei and Booker request refueling, they meet Jackson(as journalist) on deck for first time. she told them most people on earth don't even believe the existence of JAM(government denies everything, hmmm :D ). after that, Yukikaze took off in a more stuning way, then...to be continued... :p

suck story as ever, great air combat scenes ever!

the attack of JAM made me remember of Macross Zero 3, but even better IMHO!

  2. Hi, I'm back :D

firstly, David, the date on the instruction of Royal Collection type D is 1988.8, so of coz, it does not have "late" sprue J include twin chin pod and gunvent, just the same parts like any other normal release of type A. the price is 3800 JPY.

    rc_box.jpg

now come to the difference, I think this photo tells everything. don't blame me about the size of image...

    royal_parts.jpg

there are 2 metal Sidewinder included in the up-left bag, and you can find the wings of it in the PE. there are belts and pipes for cockpit and landing gear bay. with all those metal parts assembled, I'm sure the Turkey won't sit on tail B))

below is the only new sprue in the box, without letter to define its "name".

    rc_super.jpg

    p.s.

    11_907.jpg

this is another member of Fujimi Royal Collection, type A. I don't have it, but judging from the photo on the side of box, it seems has not the sprue J also.

  3. well well, let me find it several hours later... still at work now :D

I don't think the prototype kit has twin chin pod and any "new" vents...

I bought this kit mainly for those metal parts and the BIG sheet of PE, never thought is would be a "Macross F-14", ha ha ha~~ also because I wanna collect 1/72 Tomcats as much as I can :p

  4. cheng, Fujimi F-14A Jolly Rogers, the No. is 28002 I remember.

    http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?FUJ28002

    and Hasegawa Jolly Rogers reissue

    http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?HSG00364

    Fujimi's 1/48 Tomcat really SUCKS!

    http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?FUJ33001

2500yen, only for some missiles, pilots and the decal!

btw, to do a late A you need this LAU-138 sidewinder launcher(note Shin's jet doesn't have it)

    http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-detail-lau138.htm

can be found in Hasegawa X72 series. in 1/48 scale, some limited version have resin LAU-138.

  5. yeah, Graham, but nothing new till now at the official site.

Vince, the VF-0S's basic weight is 16t, I think the full load weight won't be much heavier than a F-14, and, the Phoenix has 2 most powerful turbo fan engines equipped, the old big Turkey only got F110s... so VF-0 needs not a longer runway to take off IMHO :p

  6. yeah, they are, but you can see, on the new ASUKA class carrier, 2 VF-0s are lifted on one elevator.

VF is much lighter than "old" jet fighters, and more "foldable", so don't worry about enough room to oprate them. :p

  7. according to anime.net, "An estimated 24 single-seater, 4 two-seater, and 2 two-seater armed reconnaissance units manufactured."

so, there ARE 4 two-seater trainers at least?

from the very first poster of M0, Shin was flying a two-seater Zero, number is 303 I remember... I love to have a second seat :p

  8. the Chinese introduction says:

    VF-0B

a "secret" mecha design, doesn't show up in OVA till now, variable 2 seated fighter(not specified as trainer).

feature: 2 seated long nose, the same "head" as VF-0D.

    VF-1SS(?)

same tooling as previous production, just reissue with different box art.

so, what the hell about "1/72 VF-1 jets will stop producing and selling"? how many "limited" goods will Hasegawa release?

  9. HAS04041401.jpg

    65770 VF-0B 2800 yen JUNE

    new 2 seat cockpit

new head laser(same as incoming VF-0D)

    HAS04041403.jpg

    65717 VF-1SS 2800 yen JULY

same old mold as original release

    include all A\J\S head

include Super Pack and Strike Pack(not sure it means 2 complete Pack sets or just like previous VF-1S Strike Version to get "spare" parts)

  10. the untransformable VF-1S Batroid, VF-1J Armored Batroid and Tomahawk are well made, and well posable. strongly recommend!

the so called transformable Valk is poor I think, mainly made by plastic, easy to break up, loose joint, almost unposable, and ugly looking in batroid mode.

if $25 include shipping fee and for the complete set, go for it.

  11. I still don't get it, how much more expensive will S type be with extra 3 laser cannon than A?? it's a mass production transformable killing machine! any one ever make a count of the VF-1 total loss in MACROSS TV version? they save 3 laser cannon to make more Valks? holy god! take my donation

for "ranking theory", in MACROSS ZERO #2, when Shin's VF-0D is training with Focker's OS, his HUD and other MFDs shows "target" info, so I guess there will be more advance foe identify system on the "later" VF-1 family, right? so why make Sqd leaders so well marked? or just show off?

I agree Anubis, "The lases were probably used quite often, especially for incoming missles", it's just 3 more lasers! give those rookies, their survive chances maybe higher! in such a long time space trip/fighting, the most important resource of MACROSS is "population" IMHO!
