  1. The spare ammuntion storage feature in the left leg is cool, but is it anime accurate? I don't ever recall seeing it in the TV series/OVA/movies. Mind you, it's many years since I last watched any Patlabor.

The spare ammunition storage was featured in the first movie, during Noa's ride up the elevator in the Ark near the end, where she had to manually reload her Ingram's revolver cannon. Another question for those who already have it: does the left hand extend as well, just like the right one? I think this is shown in the TV episode involving the underground dragon (no really!).

  2. Got mine yesterday, I must said this is 1 hell of a toy man, from the box art to the packaging and the QC of the toy, it's the best so far from YAMATO. If YAMATO were to make the Macross line like this Bandai would lose it's Macross fans for sure. The Box Art is like an art piece you can just put it up to display. When open, the toy is hold together by 2 styrofoam to keep everything in place, when open there's a piece of silk cloth over the toy top and under. The finishing is high gloss finished. This toy is heavy with it's leg diecast, parts of the body is too, I think mostly or fully painted. It's so highly detail just feels like the real thing. It comes with 2 barton, 1 made of metal and the other which can retrack made of plastic. The gun and rounds, 2 Batts for the lights, 1 Antena, 1 Figure and another set with just the head. Silicon included too. Only 1 thing that bother me, the paint job at the back (only a small part) have some bubbles and uneven but overall it's great. I hope they made the Macross this way.

Where did you get yours from? OverDrive STILL hasn't shipped mine citing delays in their shipment. Argh! How's the articulation of the toy? Any loose parts?

  3. Sorry to kill your hopes on the VF-25g, but yes the tampo rubs off or scratches very easily. Can't confirm on the reissued Alto since AE hasn't sent me a shipping notice yet. Funny... I preordered and paid about a week before their preorder cut-off deadline. Somehow others were able to get theirs sent before they (AE) went on vacation. Plus, their reissue Alto stock is out/backordered....

    ***EDIT***

    AE order status: Standing

Funny that. I also ordered before the deadline from them but I got mine last week.

Edit: If I remember correctly, they've pushed back the pre-order deadline at least once. I made my pre-order before the very first deadline, which was much earlier than the 2009-04-15 deadline it is showing now.

  4. I may be the only one here, but I tried ordering through Anime-Export and could never get a payment request from them. When I contacted someone at AE via email to let them know of my problems on their website, they asked if I received a payment request. I asked if the payment request was either sent to my email or appeared as a status update on my account information page (of which neither happened). Never got a reply back from them (probably Golden Week-related???) I buckled and bought my VF-25g through ebay. Not slamming on Anime-Export, since so many members have had great experiences with them. I'll try them again on my next valk purchase.

The payment request should be sent to your email. Once you've paid and your payment status has been cleared (may take some time), the payment link in the payment request email should bring you to a page in Anime-Export telling you that the payment has already been made or the order has been canceled. For me at least, that is how I determine the status of my order. On the order's or basket page, the status will remain as "standing" until the order is shipped or canceled.

  5. Any one know how big/tall is Yamato Ingram? Like taller than the 1/60 Yf19/21?

33cm tall - that's about as tall or taller than a 1/6th figure. Watch the Yamato Toy TV to get an idea how big it is in person - its the third and last segment of the show.

Found a new review courtesy of ToyboxDX. Man it's shiny!

  6. Argh, the wait is killing me. Overdrive hasn't even shipped mine and they won't resume shipping until May 7! Seeing the toy in Yamato's toy TV as posted here has me salivating even more - ratcheted, clicky joints!

  7. Ditto. I have been wondering how much of the loose groin connectors people have been mentioning on the DX are because of different amounts of use. I've transformed mine a handful of times -- no more than 5 or 6 -- and everything is nice and tight (except for the left calf armor and the infamous intake covers).

What the average level of "use" among people with DXSGS (DX Soft Groin Syndrome)?

Even without the super pack on and with a super-glue fix on the hip tab, my 25G's hip connection is still looser than my RVF's and reissued Alto. Just transformed it and in the process of positioning the chest armor, the hip connection has a slight tendency to collapse although the click is still there.

  8. I am truly grateful for the pics in clean fighter configuration and compared to the G, but I am going to be very nasty and sorry for asking but can anyone show us that hole for the RVF that's on the second issue (shall we call it V2.0??) and not on the first issue?

So far we see that it can show more nose cone in battroid, head lasers angle out too, and in fighter the wings don't have such a dramatic dihedral.

I still feel some sort of pain when I see the landing gear, but I am really getting used to the DX...on the other hand, and this is OT, I am so amazed at the DX Quarter! my hobby money is spread too thin, so I have to be very selective!

    Here's a pic:

The red circles highlight the holes required for Luca's radome. As you can see, the biggest hole at the rear is sealed for both Mikhail's and Alto's VF-25. However, the smaller holes (a pair of rectangular slots and a pair of tiny holes) remain. I don't have a first issue Alto so I can't comment on the differences between it and the reissue.

  9. Finally got around to taking some shots of my 25F. Nothing fancy though as I'm just comparing it with my 25G.

Here's the both of them side by side. Overall, the 25F does exhibit less curvature but it is still generally angled upwards. I can't seem to get both sides of the wings for both valks to be perfectly even with each other though. Either that or it's the camera angle.

    post-5445-1241169346_thumb.jpg

From the side, it's obvious that the wings slant upwards a lot more on the 25G. Also note that the gunpod on my 25G droops quite a bit compared to the 25F.

As for the slightly raised nacelles, that was one of the first things I noticed when I took it out of the box. Nothing truly major though, just a slight raise which I can also do with my 25G though it takes a bit of effort. The 25F just lends itself more easily to it.

  10. Man, looks great. I'm already anticipating a weathered version release coming up. Can the toy do lots of poses?

Check out the toy's incredible amount of articulation here and here.

In fact, if you haven't already, check out Yamato's blow-out feature list here by clicking on the listed links.

  11. does it say anywhere on the box that it is a ver 2.0? how do we recognise it from the box?

I don't see any obvious marking saying that it's the new reissue and I don't have the original 25F with which to compare it. I also notice one other thing: the normal gunpod doesn't droop as much as my 25G (the tip of the gun touches with the underside of the fuselage - there's no gap unlike my 25G) and has an overall tighter fit.

  12. Just got my reissued Alto so here a few first impressions of the fighter mode:

-The retooled holes are there but the big one needed to put in Luca's radome is covered, just like the 25G

-I don't know whether it's my eyes but the wings do seem more straight than my 25G although it's still generally angled upwards

-I don't know whether there's a mis-tranformation somwhere but the naselles on legs can be raised (very) slightly higher than my RVF and 25G and so there's a tiny bump that can be seen on the rear of the plane when looking straight from the front

I'll try to post some comparison pics tonight when I have the time.

  13. Nice find. The proportions to me looks quite nice (especially in the second link) since the lineart of the labor looks pretty squat too. The painted figure looks good to me. A quick google translation says:

Good: detailed accessories, exquisite packaging, body, patlamps, metal feet, OK level of die-cast content, large size, light-up lamps, knee and elbow joints

Bad: price, too easy to tilt the upper body

Wish the toy included a riot gun as well.

  14. If you can put Luca's radome on Alto then you have a second edition.

I'm not too sure about this. My RVF has a giant hole for the radome's largest peg whereas my 25G, while the hole is there, it is covered. It does have the smaller holes and slots for the Radome's smaller pegs but with the giant hole covered, the radome cannot be attached. I wonder if Bandai will make the hole cover for the 25F removable for the fold booster attachment.

  15. I am getting it... this My will be my last month in Asia after 9 years so I will buy every songle cool toy release... I have a 40" HQ container to fill!!! LOL!

I have one on pre-order, but it'll probably take a while before it hits my porch.

And I thought I was the only one. Whew. I really, really hope that it isn't plagued with QC issues considering the price point though (gulp!).

  16. Hey todd77, would you mind taking a few quick pics of the WAVE and CM's Ingrams together? Never seen any comparison shots of the two anywhere.

Argh, I've wanted to do that for the longest time but all my CM's labors are back home whereas right now I'm in my university dorms. :( It'll be quite a while before I can go back. Here's a pic of the WAVE I posted a few pages back:
