  1. I'd just like to say thanks to all whom kept buying all the non-valkyrie stuff so that Bandai would stay interested in making all this stuff.  We made it to the VE-1 which is very cool. :)

  2. I just ordered 3.  Thanks for pointing out where to buy. This is a real cool valk and just what I was waiting for from Bandai.  I'm sure they'll release the VT-1 Super Ostrich next.

    Perfect homages.

And yep I knew the price would be reasonable.  Can't wait!

Beautiful I'll definitely buy multiples of this one this time around.  Very nice.  Now I have renewed hope for this series :)

  4. Bandai needs to step up to the plate with the elint seeker and the super ostrich.  I think the new paint schemed vf-1 wasn't necessary at all.

  5. I get my Milia soon.  Kinda having buyer remorse though since these are dinky little valks that cost 2x as much as I paid for 1/55s.

And where are the super ostrich and elintseeker? come on bandai more valks, no destroids for me.

    This entire situation bothers me.

One, that conditions are such (limited product availability, prices higher than most can either afford, or are willing to pay) that there is even a market for Knock-Off copies of Yamato/Arcadia products and two that there are people eager and willing to support said bootleg market.

Don't think that for one second Arcadia won't just decide to exit Macross altogether if their products are going to be stolen and replicated. This isn't Takara where that business can be absorbed in other ways, either volume or with other profitable properties.

I'd go without before I bought a KO. Which is completely different than a 3rd party, alternate design, of an already made product or character.

    -b.

Oh, boo.  Arcadia is too expensive.  They can keep their "non-bootleg" stuff.

  7. Yeah but... the valks I see in OP are very old.  If they are bootlegged, the collectors already got them a long, long time ago.  I'd be in for an M&M bootleg set.  I don't feel like paying $150+ each for them.  I'm only missing from my V1 set M&M and Elint Seeker.  Well and the TV cannon fodder but I already have the normal cannon fodder box.

I still like Bandai 1/55 better.  Nostalgia sake which Arcadia/Yamato lack.  Those didn't exist when I was a kid.  Plus the boxes don't bleed onto my hands for my 1/55 reissues :p

  8. Here's what you guys aren't telling us about Yamato products:

The white plastics yellow if exposed to the sun.
The boxes (at least of the 1/60 v1's not sure if they ever fixed this though) have inferior ink on them which literally bleeds off onto your hands if your hands are sweaty at all.
Some memebers reported broken joints out of the box or joints breaking later on after what I would assume to be very careful transformations.
Reissue of a reissue of a reissue which knocked down value.
"Perfect transformation" models which knocked down the value of the version 1's.

Need any more excuses for a KO?  Plus last I read, Arcadia's stuff is way overpriced.  I would feel like an idiot paying that much for a valk unless maybe it was an old collectable takatoku or bandai 1/55.

  9. Looks good to me.  Valks are being way overpriced lately.  I'd like to see some at decent prices.  Look at the current bandai offerings.  Really miniature valks at the steepest of prices.  I'm not too happy with that.  Count me in on some bootlegs.  Even Yamatos had problems with yellowing and broken joints.  I doubt this will be a bad thing.

  10. Toynami had a chance to step up their game to Bandai but for some reason that fell out. They were planning on releasing some 1/55, including the first ever VF-1D 1/55 Bandai. It's too bad it never materialized. It's good to get info from these threads before buying. I still kinda prefer the 1/60 Yamato over these but not at the prices they command now. Luckily I got some good deals. One time I paid $25 shipped for a VF-1A 1/60. I felt that was a pretty good price. I collect V1's because that is what I started out with.

Still, here's to hoping Bandai continues this series.

  11. luckily I'm not as hooked :p these things are expensive for being so tiny. But I like the max and milia. I remember 1/55 cost about half what these cost though. And yeah it would be cool to have a CF sitting nearby my keyboard so if I come across a cheap one maybe..

  12. I put in my order for Milia from N-Y. It looks like everywhere else is sold out. I'm wondering if this is going to be Bandai's ending with a bang like they did with the 1/55ths. I hope not since they displayed the VE-1 and VT-1 for hi metal.

  13. Thanks Atheonyrih yeah I find it a bit annoying too since the preorders are pay in full and I just got the Max (which imho is a better color from what I see in photos).
