  1. here's the (not yet finished) PG 1/60 next to the Arch Enemy 1/??

sorry, i just yanked both out of the curio cabinet, threw them on the table, snapped the photo, and put them back.

    no fancy pose.

    now, it's off to bed

  2. I have a set of the maritime cups that i bought just to have some, but i would never do it or even try, my partner is going on vacation later this summer and wanted me to modify his old Glock 17 and purchase him some ammo with waterproof primers so he can take it diving with him.

what he plans on running into underwater, i don't know, but i told him i wouldn't do it, but i was curious to know if anyone knew anyone that has ever did this.

  3. Hey Chowser, what ever happened with that H&K P7 you were going to try to "liberate" ;)

it wasn't worth it, seems whoever had it destroyed it before it got turned it, the mags are fine, so I kept them. Now I've got to decide when I can afford to get one. I've got the HK P2000 subcompact to get when it comes out in .357 SIG, and I've got one more sword to buy (which is going to cost more than a new P7!)

  4. i have factory 31 rd mags for my Glock. I had a Scherer mag, but I just got not get it to work right. the original spring was all rusty and bent funny, so i put a new spring in it (with the backup springs i bought for the factory mags), and it still wouldn't feed right, i put a new follower in it, and i had less problems, but i still had problems no matter what type of ammo i used. it would alsos stop feeding after 20 rounds.

i'm not too worried about getting the followers, just on one of the mags, it doesn't lock the slide back anymore, but i rarely shoot this anymore since I got the .357s. My brother is thinking of buying my 19 off me, but then I will probably get a 26 since I have to keep all my hi-cap mags since I can't give them to him, except for the 19 rd preban (17+2baseplate).

Ammo that stinks, haha, that's funny. Guess I will stay away from them.

and yes, i too think glocks are kinda ugly, someone on my department once said, it's like looking over the side of a garbage can when i'm shooting.

but so far, we've had no explosions using our reloads. the only problem we had is some knucklehead breaking the recoil rod.

crap, gotta go get lunch for the family since there is nothing in the fridge,

    see ya all later.

it's always something when i'm on here, i think my wife is going to try to prevent me from going to any website with macross in it's name.

    :p

  5. 85? maybe that's why you lucked out, it was an older Taurus. When did Taurus buy that factory from Beretta? anyone?

My Taurus was from, hmmm...I used it in the academy, must be 1997 when I got it. I kept getting dirt in the big hole of the safety lever, and my red dot on my safety fell out. My adjustable sights would adjust themselves all day long, it got so bad, I just point shooted my way through the firearms course. Got so good at it, I actually won Top Gun in that class.

I used to have 18 rd Ram Line mags, they didn't work too well. I wonder if Beretta mags will fit your old Taurus? Can you buy new springs from Taurus?

Then again, try to use Taurus' Lifetime Warranty, tell them your springs are going and you need new ones, doesn't hurt to try.

Anyone know if I can still get the old Glock 9mm followers for hi-cap mags for my prebans? I think they say 9mm3 on them.

Anyone seen anyone shooting a Glock underwater? Or know where I can find some vids? I have the maritime cups for my Glock, but I refuse to even try it since I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. And I think some people at the beach wouldn't like it either. I don't recommend anyone trying this.

  6. that shitty but reliable Wolf ammo for pennies on the round.

what's up with the Wolf ammo? we were told not to shoot it through our Glocks by someone when we were in Armorer's School, but I never had a chance to ask why.

Is it because Wolf ammo is made for, I dunno, desert use, or firing from open bolts?

  7. forgot to mention, my duty mags in the Glock have extra power springs.

guess that's not factory. i did add +2 baseplates to all of them, hence the extra power springs, come to think of it, all my Glock mags (except the 10 rounders, 19 rounder and 31 rounders) have extra power springs + extended baseplates.

Guess that's not really factory, but the 31 rounders perform flawlessly.

wish the dept. would let me get the FSSG mod for it.

any shoot S&W's .500 Magnum yet?

Also, what's everyone carrying these days in their guns?

I wanted to carry a full mag of rubber bullets in my Glock 19 so if someone started running from me, I could just shoot a full mag of rubber bullets at them to slow them down, I was told no, we're getting TASERs soon. Whatever, I still think it would be more fun with rubber bullets. Remember, if you make the popo come and get you, we're bringing an ass kicking with us.

Also, what's everyone carrying these days in their guns?

    at work, I carry:

1 mag (the one in the gun) of Black Talon (we're almost out of this, the dept. stockpiled this ammo back in the day, but it's running out now).

1 mag staggered with Federal HydraShok (180 gr) and Federal HST (165 gr)

1 mag staggered with Winchester Ranger SXT (180 gr) and Federal HST (165 gr).

that's all the dept. allows us to carry on our duty stuff.

with our back-ups, it's got to be something commerically available if our dept. doesn't supply it, no homemade stuff.

my .357 SIG ammo is all Corbon ammo, 115 gr.

my 9mm ammo is a mixture of Aguila, Federal Hydrashok +P+ (124 gr), Corbons, and some leftover Black Talons.

i really want to try taking some 9mm Aguila rounds, removing the bullet, and reloading it in .357 SIG to see what type of velocities I could get...

  8. i've had my 31 round mags for my Glock 19 loaded for 9 months now, I just shot them off today to vent some anger (tomorrow, I'm going to try out my new wakizashi on some mats with pictures of all my supervisors on them), and I had absolutely no feeding problems. my 15 + 2 mags have been loaded for a year, shot no problems, my 17+2 mag, fully loaded for 6 months, no probs. I use my 10 round mags for practice and qualification since we are only required to have 6 rounds, and I don't care if i dump these mags all over the place. the 10 rounders are my dedicated range mags. Now, the Scherer aftermarket 33 rnd mag I had was a piece of crap, i even put a new spring and follower in it and it still jammed all the time. i got rid of that within a month.

my HK mags (12 rnds) have been fully loaded for over a year, I shot them all off today too with no problems.

My duty mags on my Glock 22 have been fully loaded since January and all shot fine today as well. Now the battery on the laser is dead...

I didn't shoot the 33s since I started running low on .357 ammo. gotta tell the dept. to order me some more.

The only problems I had were some rounds not shooting because we are using lead-free CHEAP reloads where the primers sometimes need to be hit twice, but we can't do that with a Glock, so out they go. But that's not a mag problem, so as far as I'm concerned, factory mags work fine.

My first guns were a Taurus PT-99 and Beretta 92F. The Taurus was basically a piece of crap, liked the Beretta much better. Got rid of both of them when I bought my Glock 19.

  9. took the night off work to go watch the movie! it was the highlight to my day! made up for getting passed over for the db because i was told that i took too much of my earned time off and that i have an attitude sometimes. well, hey, look, i'm taking tonight off because this place sucks and i'm gonna go watch a movie!

    movie kicked a$$!

wonder how much Tobey's gonna ask for part 3.

  10. me too, but it's a bit expensive, but I think Vermillion One is selling his custom 1/48 Max 1S with fast packs. But I just spent $600 on a wakizashi, so my funds are a little low or else I would just buy it from him as well as his Hikaru 1S, so I can have my 3 1S Fleet.

wonder if he would sell them without the fast packs...

  11. heh, Max was the only one that didn't have fast packs on, so until i dig out my cannon fodder out of the basement, he's got to wear it.

it was just a head from a Focker that I transplanted and painted the arrows blue.

and just removed the 013 off the wing and stuck an 001 sticker on it. i ended up putting a black heatshield on him later instead of the blue.

i had some pics up at valkyrie hanger, let me find the link, he's got all sorts of people's customs there.

oh well, site's been deactivated, hopefully someone finds the owner and tells him to reactivate it.

here's some pics of it if you want to see:

    Max-1S

  12. I design guns and I can't believe I haven't noticed this thread until now :(

Anyone here into compact, concealed-carry pieces?

I currently carry a Glock 19 and HK USP Compact in .357 SIG as backups when I am working. One on each side of my vest.

off duty, I carry two Glock 33s in .357 SIG.

i usually carry these in either a dual shoulder-rig or in two fobus paddle holsters.

I am looking into getting the HK P2000 subcompact in .357 SIG when it comes out.

  13. Do what I do do. I just say a traded some stuff on Macross World.

 haha, that's what I do all the time,

look, i traded something for this. even though, the collection isn't getting smaller.

i think she's starting to count how many things i have, either that, or she is actually moving stuff around when she's dusting.

i just use a can of compressed air from time to time to blow any dust away.

  14. Eh? I have no such problems.

Chowser: You probably have them TV Valks?

You are right, I do remember not having that problem with my DYRL fast packs before I traded them for TV arm armor. Oh well, I keep'em in battloid mode usually anyway :)

  15. I believe Yamato has stopped production of the VF-1S, so you should start looking for one.

The 1st edition had the same problems as the first VF-1A.

also, the VF-1S had a crooked skull on the tailfin.

The rerelease has fixed the skull logo and it has the updates that started with the Max. The nosecone, the better flaps.

  16. rise again from the dead, oh weapons thread!

    ----

well, the P7 was a bust. seems like it was purposely destroyed before it ended up in our care. and then the years of neglect in a humid room... oh well. we've got alot of seniors in our city that've been turning old guns in when they move, i've told everyone, don't take the gun yet, run the serial # to make sure it's not listed as stolen, and give them my card, i'll come look at it and give'em $50 or so if i want it so it doesn't end up getting destroyed. let's see if i can find some neat guns this way. a lady just turned in her dead husband's semi-auto beretta shotgun because she doesn't want it in the house. man, i would've given her money for that.

i'm waiting for the HK P2000 sub compact to come out in .357 SIG.

that'll be my next gun purchase.

    on a different note,

I finally got around to doing some tameshigiri with my Last Legend katana.

Boy, this thing cuts like a lightsaber! Super sharp right from the factory.

so far, i've only done single mats, but i'll progress to double mats soon and see what it does.

It's the Last Legend 306 Tsunami.

My matching wakizashi is on the way.

I'll post pics when I get them side by side.

well, not exactly matching, the katana is folded, while the wakizashi is just forged. Since I don't plan on doing anything with the wak, i opted for the cheaper model. it's just going to sit on my desk.

I also use Gunbroker alot. I've stopped lately because of the paypal thing. Also, there's really no one watching what people are selling on gunbroker. just becareful what you bid on. i've been looking for hi-cap mags for my brother, and i've seen alot of ILLEGAL imported mags that are being advertised as pre-ban.

how are they illegal? well, the gun they were made for came out after the Clinton ban, so the mags are obviously imports. I tried to explain that to my brother because he was going to get them. hopefully, the clinton ban will be gone soon.

  17. don't know about AMEX or anything in Singapore, but I have always heard that you should stay away from anything using a Western Union Transfer.

All the crooks/scammers/etc. use it to rip people off because you never know who is on the other end of the Western Union Transfer.

Paypal has it's ups and downs. If you're in Singapore, does your bank accept money orders made out in US funds? I don't know if the USPS gives out money orders in other currency, come to think of it, i don't even know if my bank will do money orders or checks in other currency? Usually, most places I buy from out of the country take US funds through Paypal. Someone from Australia just payed me in US funds with a money order, so I assume their banks will accept funds in US currency. ??

I'm currently investigating 4 separate incidents in which people got scammed into cashing checks for some out of the US country business and then using Western Union to transfer money.

I mean, here's the gist of the scam.

Hi, I'm from so and so company, we cannot set up a US bank account, so if possible, you can collect checks from companies that owe us money, and you cash it, keep 10% and Western Union the rest to us.

And of course, all the checks they get are bogus. I mean, oooo, here's a $3000 check, I deposit it in my account, and then drive over to western union and transfer $2700 to so and so in whatever country. WTF? Come on people, if it's too good to be true, it IS! Not to mention, some of these people gave away ALL their important info, like SSN, Bank Account and Routing #s, mother's maiden name, etc. Sheesh! I'm pretty sure there's a few dozen people out there now with your identity.

I heard someone out there was trying to do this type of scam with paypal payments. It will never end.

I don't sell often, i mainly buy, but here's my paypal info:

    Other Tips:

I stay away from anything with a P.O. Box. If someone pushes it, I tell them, give me your real name and address first so I can send you a letter, when you get it in 2 to 3 days, send me an email with the sentence I wrote in it so I can verify that you are real. If you are legit, you can afford to wait 3 extra days for payment.

Never send a m/o or check with no name on it.

Any money orders or checks I get, I actually look over it with a magnifying glass to make sure it's not a fake. I usually don't ship stuff out until a day or two after I make the deposit, unless it's someone I've dealt with before or someone who's got a good rep on here.

NEVER SEND CASH! I've been seeing more ebay auctions where a seller will accept cash and even tells you to send it in a certified letter. It's still CASH through the mail. If you've got the CASH, you can spend an extra $0.75-$1 to get a money order from the post office. The m/o is cheaper than certified mail.

Make copies of any checks/money orders you get and store it. Save your receipts.

If you use USPS, and you get ripped off, the post office can help you track it. I and a bunch of us were ripped off by chajah808 way back when, and I didn't keep any of my receipts, so the post office couldn't help me track down that SOB. It was only $35, but that's $35 I could spend on something else. But he better be wary, I'm still trying to make contacts out in Hawaii. There's nothing like having the blues in blue harass you. We know how far the law allows us to do things...here's a ticket for obstructed view, that pine air freshener is blocking your view... B)) hmmm....crack in your windshield? that's an unsafe motor vehicle, it's gotta be towed. i'm sure you've all heard of attitude tickets too.

Also, with paypal, watch out for delaying tactics from people not shipping. I always ask, hey, shoot me an email when you ship. If I hear nothing for a week, I send another email, if I hear nothing again that week, I get serious and send an email saying, respond with shipping info/tracking info in 48 hours or I cancel payment. After 30 days, paypal isn't much help. Guy sold me something on ebay for $14, but figured he could get more for it, so he just delayed and delayed, but he had decent feedback, then after 30 days, i hear nothing and then all sorts of negative feedback starts popping up for the guy, so basically, get things settled in the first two weeks. Unless you choose some SLOW type of shipping from overseas, it should get to you w/i 2 weeks tops. UPS and FEDEX ground shipments take about 1 week to get from the east coast to the west coast usually and vice versa. USPS Priority takes 2-3 days.

For sellers: might as well pay the extra insurance. 90% of the time you won't need it, but for peace of mind, I'll spend the extra $1-$3 or whatever.

The ONE time I didn't use insurance with UPS, my package got to it's destination, somehow during transit, the box broke?? open and one item was taken/fell out. At first, I didn't believe the buyer, but he sent me security footage from his company of the UPS guy coming in with my package, it was busted and retaped badly. I sent the guy another one, and UPS told me, hey, things happen in transit, if you don't insure, we can't do anything about it.

If UPS/FedEx come to your door with a package that has obviously been busted up/tampered with, refuse delivery, or open it in front of the deliverer to make sure everything is ok.

sorry for the long winded post, incorrect spelling, bad grammar, etc.
