  1. Is there an option? : I like em both. color them.

Anyway, like most people said, the 1st one has better hair. If Vostok 7 has his fetishes.... You might guess what's mine.

  2. That is not licking fellas! It's not a tongue  It's quite an often used style of facial expression (Love Hina comes to mind) when a character is distressed. Good art! I like both. But I like the first one more. Please show more.

    Same thought. :)

  3. A little earlier in this topic there was a discussion as to why HG didn't go after Manga Video for releasing Macross Plus in the US. (In fact, there's also a UK edition and maybe others.) Does the "we were distracted" excuse also apply to Manga's release of Macross II and Viz's publication of the manga?

Simply put, Manga Video just got the rights to Macross Plus directly from Big West and HG can't do anything about it. The "excuse" made by HG is a red herring, saying that Saban hired off HG's staff off. In fact, Saban was already well established back in 1985, with "Macron 1" (a spliced anime of GoShogun and Strungle) and they already have some staffers/voice actors work on Saban time to time since that point.

And what about the Macross II RPG Sourcebook published by Palladium? Wasn't that an addition to the Robotech RPG? There must be a story there; I don't see how Palladium could have been able to please both Big West and Harmony Gold at the same time.

I can answer to that because I own the Macross II RPG books, in which they are the first official Macross-related RPG product. B)

All of the books have Big West and US Renditions on the copyright notice and US Renditions logo on the back on some of the sourcebooks. The Siembiedas stated that they got their license through US Rendtions and Big West, though they didn't update to have Manga's name back in 1994-1995 when they were still in print. Also, Harmony Gold didn't do anything to stop it nor crosspromote it with the Robotech RPG.

Hell, Kevin Siembieda stated (Macross II RPG book, pages 5-6) on the introduction that Macross II should be treated as a Macross-only work and not to be confused with Robotech. He even delve into the history and license rights on who owns Macross-related animation. Also, he said he pursued the license because he was a mecha anime fan, hence he got the RPG licenses to Robotech and Macross II.

Aside from using all of the Macross II source material for the RPG and can't expand it, Palladium Books can't get the licenses to Macross-only stuff because Big West is asking too much on the license fee and PB can't pursue this at this time.

If this is the hole HG can't cover, I hope someone just get a lisence directly from BW. Maybe Manga can release M7 series in DVD, eh?

.......So I guess Tokyopop won't have any problems getting the M7 trash.

  4. I guess unless further info is release on Mac7trash, we won't know until we open up the first page and see whether "Licensed by Harmony Gold" is there or not.

Uh, I asked at SDCC if HG's name is on TokyoPop's Macross 7 Trash. They said, yes.

    Yeck. <_<

Like "Macross series" (NOT robo#$%) in DVD by Animeigo with an HG logo. <_<

  5. Ok... I should have said something before I was picked on by a RT fan. I'm sorry but I don't consider the 2 franchises to be the same. Stick Robotech on the cover of this game.... and for me, its simply not the same.

It is not same for me also.

It's like Animeigo releasing the Macross DVD with Harmony Gold Logo, WTF?!

Anyway, going back to the game, I'm sure many of you already heard me saying: "Where's the damn Cockpit View?"

  6. * The openings and endings were changed. The opening gets a strange English male singer singing a song (I can't remember the details) with random clips of the show and an instrumental ending with random clips as well.

    * There were cuts but minimal.

    * The character names got a mixed bag. Some retain the Japanese ones, some got the RT ones and some got a new set of names. The names that got original English ones are Lynn Minmay as Maria Lynn-Minmay, Lynn Kaifun as Teddy Typhoon and Millia as Samantha.

Wish I had recorded the episodes. <_<

About the opening songs. I think I remember the tune but I don't know Filipinos composed it.

I think Hayao is Harry, I heard to a fellow Flip bro. :)

Anyway, check out this site that I've booked marked:

    (click me)

  7. The Filipino-made English dub retains most of the story intact, all of the songs and music and no sign of HG's Robocrap. B) It was better then what HG has to offer and one of the few people in the board to saw it.

Oh yeah. It was better than what HG had to offer.

And it was shown in RPN-9. (Funny, I thought I actually e-mailed the webmaster of the station' s official website regarding the episodes. But no reply :( )

  8. There was an English dub that was broadcasted in the Phillipines using Filipino actors (good thing it wasn't the HK dubbers from Clash of the Bionoids/Super Space Fortress Macross). It used to air on TV station RPM-9, Sundays at 6 PM. It aired in the summer of 1985 and kept it on reruns up to probably 1988.

    Yet, there were alterations:

    few hours late.

  9. I am gonna get it because it wont have the QC flaws that Roys 1/48 has. ;)

Yeah! Positive thinking! The VF-1S will have all the improvements like in the nose cone and the flaps. Plus, the 90 degree elbow bends and the no-tab ni the nose gear doors (not sure if this is an improvement).

But this will give us something to think about...

    Read on:

When Yamato released the VF-1D for the 1/60 line-up which has the "L-shaped grove/trench" for its gundpod. In other words, it has primitive arms even if yamato ALREADY MADE the collapsible 1/60 gunpod. We hope that Yamato will not release the VF-1S Hikaru with "primitive flaps" and "primitive nose cones". I'm keeping my cool here but we all know it's the same company....................... Or maybe I just being paranoid.

OK. I'll just spell it out to be clear:

PLEASE YAMATO! Please release the VF-1S Hikaru with the flaps and nose cone IMPROVEMENTS!!

  10. Why? Because I love it. If there is one vintage Macross toy I'd like to have, it would be the VF-1S Hikaru Strike. Yamato 1/60s came, no Hikaru Strike. :( ,Bandai reissued the 1/55s, no Hikaru Strike. :( ...yet. (dum dum dum dum)

Now, Yamato is going to release a VF-1S Hikaru, me very happy! See me smile! Plus the fast pack..... Dadah!! Hikaru Strike! :)

    Arigato, Yamato!

  11. my red landing light popped out on my Low Vis. anyone know a good clear glue that would fix it?

I used Ross super glue. :)

But, wouldn't that fog up the clear piece?

Your best bet would be a 5 min epoxy. It will never come out again! But, I don't know if it will dry clear. All I know is that Lepage 90 min set epoxy does dry pretty clear (worked wonders for my 1A Max. see pic a few posts back), and it will be super strong.

Nah. You just have to put a little glue on the right places. ;)

  12. Forget about the pictures...  check out these movies!

    http://www.bandaigames.channel.or.jp/list/...ross/index.html

Just clock on the 'Movie' button and a pop-up window will open.

Unfortunately right now not all movies can be viewed...  but the ones I was able to watch were great!!!

    Real authentic Macross sounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really leaning more and more towards going to Japan in X'mas...  but not only is the plane ticket expensive, but the games I want to buy (Gundam Sora + Macross) will be too...

    $$$

Er, clock on the 'Movie' button and a pop-up window will open?

    What do you mean?

I'll try Chowser's links in the mean time, wherever he got them. Thanks.
