Oh stop hitting it already! I got a question. The new BSG is a remake of the original, right? Naturally they want to do it deifferent a bit. I remember the original show, but I was 4 or 5 years old, and I don't think I ever saw it since.

  So in the original, was there already a Cylon war in the past? As in the new show where there was a Cylon war 40(?) years earlier, and the present is the RETURN of the Cylons. Am I making sense? In other words, the remake seems like a sequel in the story line, but then there's Adama, Starbuck and Apollo... so it is a remake.?   I confused myself, what's the answer?

The new show is a retelling of the original series. The Sci-Fi channel uses elements of the original series, but made alterations. Check http://www.battlestargalactica.com for an an overview of the original and current series.

On that point, was the Viper in the old show, an OLD design as it is in the new?(if you know what I mean). I don't remember it being old.

The vipers used in the original series were considered the current production models for their time.

Coverage is coming out for the US Toy Fair. Of interest, Action-figure.com has some close-up shots of Gundam Seed toys schedule to come out later this year.

I am looking to forward to see the Battle-Scarred Action Figure line. The image of the damaged Duel Gundam looks nice.

What is the deal with red shaded mobile suits? The Sazabi and Char's Zaku never looked quite right when they were released. For the Aegis, I hope this was just a lighting issue.

Looks good so far. Hopefully, it's better than the anime snoozefest FireStorm.

They do treat shows like bastard children, even the ones that do well for them.  Thank goodness this show isn't a Fox show...it'd probably do well, it'd fit into the Fox "look" for their promos (how they like to push their shows with "sexy" people with their hair blowing in slow motion in blue...they'd have a field day with Tricia Helfer), and then they'd kill it for a reality show featuring 2 geezers trying to score with lesbian bar maids or something.

Fox does not necessarily treat their money making shows well. Look at the history and especially the final season for Married with Children, which helped establish Fox as a network.

Im getting all the Autobots, I prefer plastic since Die Cast is too heavy plus the are way too expensive ($45-$50+ if you order from HLJ plus another $10 for shipping and handling it's about $60) now with those 60 dollars I can go to Target and get 3 alternators... or go to Wal-Mart and get 4 ($15 each) and they are just as nice, and they dont chip.

I have to concur. Probably, the first time for me that the Decepticon version looked better than the Autobot one.

BARC SPEEDER:

Looks like the speeder bike precursor.

I can't tell if the speeder bike pilot stormtrooper armor is a proto design or just the same as the old series.

For me, they look the same with the BARC scout being a practical repaint. However, I would need to say more upclose pictures to be sure.

But I did found out one thing,, Girls know about Gundam Wing and not Macross.  There's one that was playing with my Wing Zero like that girl in those Gunpla comercials ( not as happy happy as her, but close enough),,, when she saw my Perfect grade zero custom she was like    , (OMG is that a zero custom?) and I was    .    Perhaps I need to display some of my Valks in Battliod mode,, they are all currently in figther mode.

I kind of notice that too. It may have to do with the idea that some may feel gals play more of an active and/or interactive role in Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny than in Macross. One gal at my workplace has a bunch of pictures and figures of Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne at her desk.

that Yamato on display in front of the SOC Yamato box is not the same one is it? it looks tiny as hell.

Nope. The BPX-01 is in its box. The small Yamato and Andromeda is from Museum of Leiji Matsumoto DX series. BTW I am still looking for a EDF battleship.

The BPX-01 is a bit large than the MoLM DX Andromeda and Yamato.

And by EDF battleships, I assume you mean the MoLM version?

Harking the words of my fellow MW board members, socializing does take work, but it is worth it. I work a night shift, but I try to work at getting together with friends and other people through social organizations.

Palpy does look moderately cool.  How old was Ian McDiarmid when he played Palp in ROTJ?  He looks just about the right age now.

Ian McDiarmid was born August 11, 1944. He was around 40 years old when he played Emperor Palpatine in RotJ. He is around 60 years old now for RotS.

Agreed. If they had gone full out and made the trailer this would be one of the most incredible and sought after Transformers to date, but as just a repaint I'm not interested. I suspect I'm in the majority.

What's kind of even more annoying is that Takara did not even bother to change his rifle. For me, it's kind of silly to call Ultra Magnus a second Masterpiece when all he is a repaint.

I don't know, there is NO MORE Gundam merchandise anywhere over here.  Bandai/CN (especially CN with Seed's air times) really screwed the pooch when it came to marketing gundam in the US.  The last of it went on clearance already in the few places that had anymore (mostly G Gundam leftovers).  Never saw much Seed merchandise either.  An Arch Enemy Aile Strike Gundam is news to me.

As much as I do not like the dubbing for Gundam, I wish CN gave it better time slots so it got better exposure. Last time I caught episodes of Seed on CN, it was sometime after midnight. I have an annoying suspicion it may have to do with how it is being received so far and its content may be cause for alarm for censorship.

Around the holiday season, I saw only a few pieces of Gundam Seed toys at places like Targets. For January, I have only seen Gundam Wing Battle Scar stuff in stores where I live.

Curious, has anyone seen pictures of these scatch-built trailors of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus? The gentleman who made these also does his own Transformer costuming.

Someone posted this image on another message board. This is supposedly part of a photo shoot to appear in a future issue of Vanity Fair. Supposedly there was footage of the shoot on a recent episode of Access Hollywood.
