  1. Well, I bought my Xbox 360 (Premium ver. w/ free remote) when it launched back in Nov '05. I've played several games both on and offline, hooked up the HD-DVD drive, downloaded countless arcade games/videos/shows, linked it via wireless media connect to my PC, and even took it with me for a 5-month deployment to the dessert...and the damn thing works like it was just bought today. I have never experienced any overheating issues or any other notable problems...I guess I was just lucky. I better knock on some wood, less my luck change.

  2. Hate to be the pessimist but the Megahouse L-Gaim (and Vatshu) has been quite disappointing in the only major review seen so far:

    http://pony-hp3.web.infoseek.co.jp/MEGA-L.htm

What I understood from his rant:

    - "The photos may look nice but don't be fooled! The paint is unevenly applied."

    - The shoulder joints for L-gaim are unbalanced.

    - Meagre selection of accessories for the price. NO BACKPACK!!!

    - Lousy paintjob on the Spiralflow, plus...

    - it doesn't stow away correctly in the chest cavity.

    - Power Launcher and shield doesn't fit well on forearms.

    - Limited posability (I'm damn curious about the seemingly crippled hip joints)

    - Stupid situation for the saber because the un-fired ones are permanently molded on arms.

Hope you didn't pay full price for it :-/

Yeah, I saw that review, but it didn't discourage me. I still think it looks pretty neat and and the paint/detailing issues I can fix myself. I'm really disappointed that the backpack wasn't included for the price I paid.

  3. I know this is probably wishful thinking, but I'm lin the market to purchase a 1984 Bandai 1/55 VT-1 SuperOstrich. I prefer it to be complete and in pretty much unused or as close to factory mint condition as possible. I know this is pretty rare, but I want it to be completely free from yellowing. I'm looking to pay around $800 for one in this condition, but we can negotiate depending on what you have to offer. PM me if you have an offer to make or if you can help me get this elusive toy in my collection. Thanks in advance.

  4. I'm looking to buy a Takatoku 1/55 VF-1J Max type. It's the last Takatoku 1/55 valk missing in my collection; I've been having a hard time locating one on eBay so I thought I'd try here.

I prefer it to be a in C-8 or better condition and complete with box, unused sticker sheet, missiles still on sprue, instructions, etc. If you have one that you are interested in selling, please pm me with an offer and provide pics.

  5. Wow great deal.  If you wanna turn a quick profit on that I'm looking for one :)  I was actually fortunate enough to get one eons ago for $400.  The valk itself is minty white but the decals were applied and some have been worn off.  I've been looking to replace it with a mintier one for quite some time now.

Thanks, but I think I'm gonna keep this Super Valkyrie until I die; it's my "holy grail" of Macross toys.

  6. Wow, that Super VF-1S went for a lot more than I expected, considering the average price for vintage Takatoku and Bandai VF-1S valkyries is around $250 now.

Not to question an obvious uber-collector, but I've found the bone white Taka, when no yellowing is present, still easily demands $400+. I do remember seeing one go for less than that but only once.

For a bone white Taka Super VF-1S, I believe you may be correct. In fact, I was expecting the one listed would sell for around $400, but it sold for just over $500. Most offered on eBay are not in that condition and have sold for an average of $250.

    I bought mine for $300.

That price can still be considered a steal since several years ago when it would have easily been worth $1,000 and possibly more. Especially since it's rare to see one in such great condition, both the toy and box.

For my Taka Super VF-1S, I use an extra black clip-on heatshield that came with the 1990 Bandai VF-1S. I also have a red one that I use for my Bandai Strike VF-1S.

  8. Does anyone have a screen capture of the cannon fodder VF-0A?

CF VF-0A. It's a brownish grey instead of the beige or tan VF-1A.

I think it's a difficult color to reproduce in ABS. I wish yamato opted for a more greyish tone 'cause a very light tan would be too toyish.

Thanks for the pics! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing on how exactly would it look in toy form.

  9. The one I recieved had only one minor flaw that I could see; the skull on the pilot's helmet was printed slightly to the right instead of in the center. Yamato did a excellent job with one and I love how a majority of sticker details were tampo-printed on, especially the cockpit-dash controls. Here's a few pics of my new VF-0S sitting on the deck of a USS Flagg.

NOTE: The arrestor hook on the VF-0S actually works on the one that comes with the USS Flagg. Man, I lost count how many times I have launched and landed this bird on the deck...it's way too much fun!
