  1. a few years back i had a 1/55 VT-1 superostrich custom commisioned.i store it lovingly in a box out of any kind of light wrapped in an old cotton t-shirt to cushion it.i have 2 problems with it.1-the resin wings are suffering a terrible sag to them i heard this was kinda commom, but is there any permanent cure? 2nd problem-i originally had her painted in a bright white & theres a good bit of yellow "bleeding" from all the white areas now.what happened to make the paint do that? are these issues possibly caused from too much heat? i store it in a closet & although it ain't icy in there in the summer,i don't think it gets that hot.what do you guys think? expert help much appreciated!!!! :)

  2. a few weeks back,i remember seeing user "jung" with 1 set of each VE-1 & VT-1 resin conversion kits for 1/55.if you pm him you might get lucky & find he has them still in his inventory.i'm sorry, but i don't remember if they sold or not.btw, the sets were originally made by user "rob" from italy & his kits were second to none for the 1/55 VT-1 & VE-1 conversions.hope this helped :)

  3. belated props to "opus" for delivering that 1/48 max 1a in our trade.wanted 1 like crazy for so long & i'm glad when it came time, the trade was smoov' as butta.thanks man.

thanks also to 'tam' at tmpanime.for as many folks as you deal with bro,it's good to see a vendor taking time personally to help a customer get what they want & deal with someone who's more like a friend instead of a stranger.

    finally,noel at "black aces".

a few times when i was looking for something hard to get,the man contacted me to not only let me know he could get what i wanted, but gave me awsome prices & great deals on shipping too.after the deal was through, the man doesn't just forget about you.i get pm's occasionally to ask if i'd like him to look for anything for me while he's on a trip.your good people noel.best part was my surprise at christmas to get a card from asia w/ a hand written holiday greeting for me & my grandfather.vendors who take time to wish me & my family well on a holiday stand above the rest.some folks still care for more than just your money. :)

  4. craft & hobbie stores usually have these little knick-knacks in abundance.check there first.also, most fishing lures use small o-rings like this to attach the hooks to the body of the lure.the drawback to these is that they are a keyring-style ring.you have to fenagle the object on the ring till it reaches the middle & locks in.that might be too much force for delicate plastic parts

  5. wow andy, you are a handy bugger now aren't you!!!

that is a very cool idea & seems easy.did you bend the wire in place or did you do a test fit & bend it over & over till it fit the valk?

i like how you've re-done the display cubes too.what happened to all the gundam stuff that was in there? did they find new homes? :)

  6. i have 1 that i've considered parting with.would you consider a trade? i really need a 1/48 VF-1A max.if you have 1 you don't mind letting go,i'll trade you my max 1J super for just the 1a max.pm me when you can & let me know what you think :)

  7. jasonc,i've seen a plane painted red baron style w/ the greyed out belly, but i can't remember were.i remember thinking how good it looked that way though.my feeling would be,if you do do the grey underbelly, tone down the red on top some,so as not to have a bright glossy red "crashing" into the light grey at the bottom.

  8. yeah devin(anasazi37),

hope all your personal stuff works out for you. as you can see,you & your awsome work are missed very much here.

jasonc, can't wait to see how she turns out for ya.having a new lady friend myself,i can understand how custom valks has slid to the back burner slightly.boyfriend/girlfriend stuff almost never includes working on custom valks

  9. yes, yes, welcome to the dark side my friend.you'll wanna just leave your wallet in the basket by the door, yamato now controls that.the dark side isn't stronger, but it is quicker,easier..........more seductive. :p:p

i agree w/ your thoughts about the 1/60's,but that really changed for me when i got the VE-1 & VT-1.when i had my 1/60 VF-1S strikevalk,i wasn't liking it's armour fitment,my fast/strike packs just never would sit even on their mounts & the leg armours would come off w/ just the lightest handling.it was my first 1/60 too,so figuring out how to transform it the first time, was an escapade to say the least.

my VE-1 & VT-1 are a whole different story though.all the armours fit snug & tight & they mount true w/o sitting crooked or needing adjustment.the transformations seem easier to get just from a quick glance to see how the parts move,i like how the cockpit canopies/heatshields click in nice & tight, not falling off in evasive manuevers.i'm not sure if yamato perfected the 1/60 line before releasing the elint & ostrich, but it seems like it.i heard the valks w/ 2 pilots in them were difficult to transform into battroid mode w/o having to wrestle w/ the chest plate to fenagle it into position, but that issue seems to have been corrected,at least it seems that way w/ my 1/60's. :)

  10. well,with my bonus from work,i'm saving to do a 1/48 custom.

my big present this year, was my grandfather paid my way for me to join him & the rest of my familiy on there cruise to bermuda.all expenses paid, owner's suite, butler, the whole 9 yards.best time i've ever had w/ a christmas gift.

i've been hinting around to my girl that i've been wanting a WW1 style german fighter ace black leather jacket.i just love that early double-breasted style black leather jacket, very slick & classy looking.mom & dad are giving me some parts to put on my hotrod,so i really can't complain this year at all :)

  11. alot of guys recommended a gundam marker to me for panel lining.i was surprised at how well my first 1/55 turned out whn i used 1 of these.i had never done any custom work to a valk & it turned out damn-near perfect.my only complaint was that after 2 valks, the tip seemed to dull to work easily anymore.i'd have to say it was worth it though.even for only 2 :)

  12. jasonc, definately use a little grey in your red baron custom.i think it would look sweet w/ the belly of the valk painted that light gray kinda the way the modern fighters do for camo against the sky.i don't know if the original von richtoven had his that way,but it would blend very nicely w/ a modern take on his paint scheme.

i am planning a 1/48 VF-1S custom max(for a while now),but i'm still in the collecting pieces & parts stage.i'll definately post pics when i'm done.it's another custom that i know has been done-to-death,but i'm doing it cause i've always wanted 1.especially now that rohby has cast probably the most perfect & detailed VF-1S head ever.combine that w/ some of anisazi37's incredibly perfect decals & it'll be just perfect. ;)

  13. so,these 3rd releases are having issues w/ the bp8 breaking easily or broke upon arrival? i've yet to get a yammie w/ any qc issues, just lucky i guess.you guys must handle your valks like a gorrilla to be breaking that backpack piece.i consider myself rather rough w/ my 1/60 & 1/48 valks & i've yet to break a hip or backpack piece
