I JUST BOUGHT A YAMATO YF-19 OFF OF EBAY FOR 50 BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I'm all for Gundam markers for panel lines. But then I'm not much of a model builder really.

I just ordered the Wing Zero and the Char Zaku today! Maybe I should say hell with the 1/48 and pick up the Zeta or the MkII titan.

I know, I clicked that link last night. As much as I want a 1/48, man I gotta build one of those. Actually strike that. I gotta build ALL of those. I just wish I could find pics of the Evangelion Perfect grade kit.

Oh yeah, and I haven't built a PG yet, but I do know the 1/100's are easy. I read a review of the PG's on starship modeler that say no glue or paint is required, but it helps in parts. They say the PG manual is easy to understand from pics so it doesn't matter that it's in Japanese, and if you pay attention then skill isn't a factor. In my expierience, here's what I found works for my 1/100's. Gundam markers: Fine tip black and grey, White, and the 6 marker weathering kit. Not hard to use, and the weathering adds little things like mud and rust that really make it look lifelike.

I've used gundam markers and they are truly awesome. The fine tip black and grey works wonders for panel lines. Strike Rouge ? That's so cool ! I want that one bad along with the Zeta PG (biggest of them all), but I decided that I want a Gundam Zero since I have one in every other scale, and there's no PG Deathscythe or heavy arms. Nice choice though!

Slightly off topic, but I've decided that in addition to the 1/48, I'm looking into Perfect Grade Gundam kits. What's the difference between Perfect and Master other than size, and is it worth it to buy one of those or should I just buy like 3 Master grade kits. And finally (I know I ask a lot of questions) has anyone checked out the Evangelion PG kit and how is it?

Ok, those of you following the Toynami thread know that I've put all my MPC's on ebay, and I'm going to buy a 1/48. I need help with a decision though. Here's the options I have and I really am having a lot of trouble. As I could go either way on any of them and be happy. I have no doubt I'll end up with all of them at some point but what should I do for now, as it might be a while before I get another one? VF-1S Roy w/Strike parts and stand (my favorite valk) VF-1S Hikaru w/Strike parts and clear pieces(I can get a great deal on this) VF-1J Stealth and stand (my favorite looking valk so far) VF-0S (I heard it's the size of a 1/48!)

I'm unimpressed. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great toy, but for the life of me I can't imagine spending 160 dollars on a 1/60. Maybe if it goes the way of the VE-1 and drops in price I might buy it. If I was going to spend that much I'd much rather buy the YF-19 or a 1/48 than that.

389034[/snapback] I meant the one with the armor, it's all the same to me. It was basically almost the same as Jetfire, but not as sturdy. I wish I still had it, and when I think about it I have no idea what the hell happened to it.

I remember wanting a Jetfire so bad and not getting one. so my mom (who was in the navy and had friends stationed in Japan) had them try and find one. Instead of a Jetfire I got a takatoku VF-1S strike valk. At the time I was really pissed off, because I wanted a Jetfire, so it sat and collected dust for a while. Then a little later I discovered Robotech and was all of a sudden my strike valk got tons of playtime. I did eventually get a jetfire as well, and poor Jetfire was always getting killed by Starscream and Skywarp. But it was OK because Roy was always avenging him. When that wasn't the case, Roy just shot Jetfire down himself because Jetfire was an evil red Russian robot.

If you notice in Graham's toy gallery, the VF-1J Stealth is pictured with the strike cannon, it seems to have the regualar 1/48 hands, and the pilot looks like Hikaru.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took the plunge, put the MPC's on ebay, and went to work. I came home and the Reserve of 450 had already been hit with 7 watchers! I've already turned a 70 dollar profit with 6 and a half says of bidding left. Sweet! I'll let you guys know when and what 1/48 I buy. Hell maybe I'll buy two! The Roy (my favorite) and the IJ Stealth ! Cheer for my auction so I can swear off Robotech forever and go strictly Macross !

I will say that after reading all the horror stories about the MPC Alpha's I started thinking about staying away from Toynami and selling my MPC's. I decided I'm going to sell them off and pick up a 1/48. I'm torn between 3 though. Should I buy a Roy, Hikaru VF-1S, or a Stealth VF-1J? I'm not too crazy about the VF-1A If I buy the Roy or Hikaru, I will buy a strike kit for it, or the stealth which comes with one. I just can't decide on what to buy. I love the Stealth's look, but Roy is my all time favorite, and I think the Hikaru just looks badass. Too bad they don't make a YF-19 1/48. If you were going to buy one, which would you get first?

Actually the only one Im having a lot of trouble letting go of is ironically the Jack Archer one, but if I let them go I want to sell the whole set off. I mean, it is the ONLY YF-1R out there, and he does look pretty cool. I wish yamato made a YF-1R. but then again, it would be easy to customize a 1A to look like a 1R. Hell I don't know, it's driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want the VF-0S, just not for the price it's going for. That's rediculous for a 1/60, and even pushing it for a 1/48 for that matter.

Well should I ? I'm considering selling my MPC's and going yamato only and using the money from them on 1/48's or Macross Plus stuff. The only Yamato I own is a 1/60 DYRL Roy and I love it so much...I can only imagine a 1/48. I just keep thinking the MPC's are limited and 5 years from now I might kick myself. Advice would be great. By the way, how tall does a 1/48 stand in Battroid mode ?

Hey, can anyone tell me about the knock off Fire/ Blazer valks ? How's the quality ? Do they break easy ? Would they be good for customizing/ painting ? Is it worth 35 bucks for a set of them ? Basically, I'm an idiot on the subject and would really like to more about them. Any info would be great. Thanks !

Does anyone else think that Roy should have survived and they could have killed Rick instead? Here's the thing : Yeah it would have drastically altered the story. So what? Lets face it here's your breakdown of the characters : Rick Hunter : A whining sniveling little knob Max Sterling : A royal suckup Ben Dixon : An idiot and nothing more than the token fat doofus. Miriya :She could have been cool if they did more with her character. So Basically, Roy was the conceited one, yes. But also the least annoying main character. So what do you think, should Roy have lived? So here is one vote for yes, Roy should have lived.

I don't know. I mean I think that Yamato's proven themselves on the Valk front. and I think it's time to branch out. Also, why not make a 1/48 Yf-19? They could do a whole new design and improve on all the flaws. As for the Alpha's, I just think it would be a great move for them as they could finally bury Toynami. And god forbid, if they found a way to drop their prices they could bankrupt Toynami real damn quick.

You know, if they made the wings a bit longer and used a clear plastic windshield with a 1/60 style cockpit, I'd be impressed. I think that knowing toynami they'll do the alpha's and that's when this line will get interesting. The Hikaru doll is f***ing creepy. Ever see the movie poltergeist with the boy who had that clown doll ? Yeah, that's why males shouldn't own dolls. When little Hikaru is holding a little knife to your throat when you wake up in the middle of the night don't come crying to me, because I told you so. I hope Chucky kicks his ass, steals his veritech and both his women.
