  1. Here's a little update on what I've been working on in between work and shifting to a new place. It's a screenshot from a sequence which is actually complete but I don't know if I should release it yet. As usual, I don't know when I'd be able to finish up the other 2 shots coz I'm quite busy right now and it might take up to 2 months. Anyway, It's supposed to be the second shot out of a sequence of 4, starting with the video above. If you think it looks familiar, it's because I was 'inspired' by a scene from a certain movie.
  2. Thanks! I'm using xtream to render it within 3dsmax but I use the standalone to setup the scene. It's just a modified sample scene.
  3. Looks promising. Can't wait to see it in a game engine.
  4. Looks very nice, Kurisama. Makes me feel like ripping off your color scheme for a future project.
  5. They could try to make an anime version of the VFX games, especially the first one since it featured singing women. I'd personally love to see a prequel that takes place between Macross and Macross Plus since there are already some awesome planes designed for that era. Plus, I'd love to see the VF-11 featured as the next generation fighter in the midst of war. And yes, I love the VF-11.
  6. Thanks! My model isn't based on Takaken's model. I made it from scratch using the Hasegawa 1/72 model kit as reference, which is why the plane can't transform right now.
  7. I based the navigation lights based on a f/a-18 strobe light pattern video I found on youtube, which is why there's a pause in between flashes. Maybe I'll shorten it later. Noted. I'll fix it in the longer version after I figure out a better way to make the contrails. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. Here's another short flyby sequence I made while experimenting with Vue. This is supposed to be the first part of a longer sequence but my break is gonna end soon so I decided to upload it before it gets lost in my hard disk. The original plan was to rip-off the scene from Transformers Dark of the Moon where Starscream blows up the shuttle but I've yet to find a suitable Zentradi-ish shuttle/giant missile/aerial station thingy to blow up so I'd appreciate it if you guys have any suggestions. The reason I decided to copy that scene was because the vf-11 has an internal missile bay just like the f-22 and I'm currently not able to think of anything better since the plane doesn't transform, yet. So here you go guys and do leave me some comments! As usual, watch it in HD.
  9. It's coming along nicely but I find the text a bit hard to read, especially in the bottom design because of the starfield background. Maybe you could try toning down the bright stars right behind the text? I kinda like the colour and mood in the bottom one but the top one is cleaner and easier to grasp.
  10. That's weird. Some of the pictures makes me think my eyes aren't working properly. Must be coz I've been looking at a normal yf-19 for years.
  11. I don't really use stock footage so I guess I can come up with some backgrounds as long as they're not too hard to do. I kinda like the dogfight sequence but the VF-1 I got for Tipatat doesn't have panel lines etc so it would look odd next to the vf-11 in terms of detail. Tipatat's model is awesome, but detailing it is gonna take time and I'm currently experimenting with a 3d/cell combination style like Macross Zero. Till then I'm kinda stuck with the VF-11 so any short sequence between 10-30 seconds long would be perfect as long as they don't involve another craft/robot. Thanks! I'd love to make more planes but right now I'd like to start on a version 2 of this model and make it transformable. Currently scratching my head trying to figure out a better modeling method.
  12. Holy crap that's pretty impressive! I haven't played with Legos in a while but I'd definitely get this. The transformation sequence is pretty accurate too.
  13. Wow, a legend has posted in my thread. Thank you for all the support. I'm currently working on another sequence, but I guess I'm kinda in a slump right now. I'm open to any suggestions/collaborations so if you have any ideas for a short animation sequence (not a short, just a sequence), please let me know. I currently have this vf-11 together with tipatat's vf1 but none of them are setup for animation. Maybe I'll post a few renders of Tipatat's model that I textured a while back sometime later.
  14. Ouch. You're scaring me already. I'll give it a shot although it won't be anything epic. Probably 2-3 minutes at most.
  15. You're right, the camera was animated manually and it was hard to visualise the actual movement because the background and the plane were rendered separately. I should probably look into creating a smoother handheld-like motion. The color scheme looked pretty good during the WIP, but I guess it became too low viz when used in actual animation. Maybe I should look into a new color scheme for my next animation. Challenge completed! I'm kinda divided on what to do next. It would be nice to create more animation with just a vf-11, but I was thinking an actual short would be better. The only problem is I'd need to model a few more things first, like a battlepod, q-rau, a vf-1 and a transforming vf-11. My initial idea for the short was to showcase the vf-11 as the next-gen fighter, undergoing field testing in some random Zentradi skirmish. It should be the vf-4 that the vf-11 replaces but I don't really like the vf-4 design and I kinda like the look of a vf-1 cannon fodder. The drawback; it'll take a long time to complete. Realistically it'll probably take up to a year for it to even materialise coz I'll be busy again next month onwards.
  16. Here's a little animation that I did using my recently completed vf-11b model. Why did I create a new thread instead of posting in the previous one? Coz I'm an attention horse. Plus I'd like to have a separate discussion on the animation alone instead of talking about the model and I plan to make more short, short sequences so I'll just dump them here. And I'm an attention horse. Spent quite a bit of time animating the individual control surfaces, although they're far from accurate coz I didn't do enough research. Comments are much appreciated! Watch it in HD too.
  17. Funny you should mention yukikaze coz it's a part of my reference. On a serious note, I do plan on making a short animation but the completion date depends on my day job and the fact that I don't have many Macross-related 3d models yet. Which means I'll have to build them one by one, unless someone wants to donate their fairly detailed model. Here's a bigger render: http://img94.imagesh...0120113vf11.jpg
  18. My vote goes to the Tactical Pod Glaug since it's not too mainstream. Those are some great looking models!
  19. Thanks for the comments guys. Here's a frame from something I'm working on, although I'm not sure if the final product will look the same.
  20. The textures are finally done. The design/color scheme is based on a build by puttey_mariwo which I saw here. His build was one of the best I've seen on-line so I decided to copy it but I'll probably make some amendments later on. View the video in full HD to have a better look at what I've done. Special thanks to Chris@Dobber for helping me out with the decals/sticker placement. Next up: a short animation featuring this plane.
  21. Textures are still in progress and I'm going nuts trying to get it right (uvw unwrapping isn't my thing). I'll probably make the V2 transformable, but I don't know when V2 will happen. It might even take months but I plan to do some super short animations of this plane flying.
  22. Thanks! Here's a little turnaround video I rendered overnight. Just noticed some gaps in the model but I'll probably fix it later.
  23. Hi guys. This is my own attempt at modeling the VF-11 based on the 1/72 hasegawa kit. It's not accurate and there are many errors here and there but I just wanted to get it done as practise. I'll probably redo it from scratch once I get the actual kit as it's hard to find proper reference on-line. So far the cockpit is very basic and there are no landing gears yet but I will probably start texturing it first. This is where I need help from you guys. If someone has a hi-res scan of the stickers/decals and instructions/manual from the Hasegawa kit, that would help me a lot for texturing. The ones available online are not clear enough and the texts are too small to make out. I've also tried asking in the model kit sub forum but it hasn't been very helpful. Anyway, here are some basic renders without any textures. These are only renders with materials. The panel lines were cut into the polygon itself. Any comments/feedbacks would be greatly appreciated and I will keep them in mind when I work on the V2.
  24. I'm actually looking for a higher resolution version of this one, and the stickers/decals: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10144485t2/60/2 Thanks for the reference.
  25. Hi guys. I'm currently working on a 3d version of the vf-11 and I know this isn't the Fan Works section but I need some help from those of you who actually own the kit. I'm currently 60% done modeling but I need the stickers/decals and the instructions in high resolution as reference. Most of the scans I've found online are kinda small and it's hard to make out the shape and numbers so any help would be much appreciated. Preferably a 2k version of at least something eligible would be a lot of help. I apologise for starting a new thread for something insignificant, but the other vf-11 threads seem to be inactive. Thanks a lot guys!
