  1. Hey Knight26, you work at Edwards AFB?  My friend bought a big piece of land that came with a small little cabin near Edwards.  I can't remember the name of the town but it's the one with the Charlie Brown's.  Man that place is depressing.  I'd hang myself if I had to live there.  What the hell do people do there for fun?  Meth?

you'd be surprised, I've heard of some weird stories coming out of there...

  2. anybody know if there are any REALLY good mods for the Yaris/Vitz?

    384798[/snapback]

Yeah, the best mod is DON'T. C'mon man, it's a freaking econo box. Spend your money elsewhere.

    I have two cars, an '86 RX7 and a '92 Civic 4door.

just funnin' with y'all. My LeBaron's fated to die at the local 1/2 mile short track in a few months once I have the Yaris....

  3. after being interested in rally racing for so long, I'm gonna finally take the first step towards actually doing it. Later this year I hope to be doing some SCCA RallyCross-ing.

I'm gonna take some kinda RWD Mopar RALLY RACING! it turns out after checking the rule books for SCCA Rallycross and Rally America, I can "legally" put a 383 into the LeBaron (or any other classic Mopar).

they have a displacement formula that they use to make sure everything's kosher within the rally world, turns out the FIA uses it too.

the limit is 5100cc, but they use a multiplier based on the type of engine it is.

    for turbo/supercharged engines its the displacement x 1.8, for pushrods it's 0.8

    so I found a site that did displacement conversions, and a 383 is 6274cc. 6274 x .8 = 5019cc!

so once I get the car prepped, the rally world can once again hear some Mopar big block thunder!

EDIT: the car's still gonna be used for drifting and auto-x-ing too, I just need an "all-around" oriented car.

  4. Hmm, some classic lines I could throw in before this thread closes:

    "Stealth!"

    "Please bang anus please!"

"Mac 7 is teh ghey and Basara loves teh weiner!"

"Kawamori needs to redesign the VF-1 because it is old and does not look like my drawing of an ultimate valkyrie and I am 5 and I love candy."

"They need to make a sequel about Rick, Lisa and the SDF-2!"

    *laughs*

But if I recall, Basara actually loves Oscar Mayer weiner...

actually, isn't it weiners? he was always eating two of them in the same bun, even when he ate after mylene....

  5. A couple problems with current VTOL aircraft is ground erosion and over-heating. A gerwalk VF would almost certainly have a problem with ground erosion. The Harrier jump-jet can only hover for at most a couple of minutes because the engine gets very hot while its doing that - in fact, Harriers carry a supply of water with which to cool the engine down.

    learn something new every day.

  6. I think it is only for a limited time?

Like we see Roy hovering in battroid mode in macross zero while looking for nora. But I don't think you can 'fly' in that mode at a decent speed. Just sort of float. Just seems like a waste of energy (especially for the vf0 which needs fuel and given that it is heavier compared to a vf1)

I still want to know how the VB6 is supposed to take off with no landing gear? Is it launched similar to how the VF1 is launched into space using that truck and an extra booster atached to its rear end? (I can see it landing in gerwalk but what about take off? It just hovers and then transforms while in midair like the vf1 right?)

I can see it now.....a huge truck piggybacking a VB6 with a giant rocket attached to it, lol.

  7. Yeah, that's gotta be frustrating for Lou Gigliotti[sp?].  Apparently, the Corvettes seem to have a bit of a problem with the heads grenading just shy of the 50 min mark in races [heard mention that this was a prob last season too?].

That's a Chevorlet for you, always breaking something.

  8. that's true, but is it so hard to properly incorporate the two?  I mean if you're going to show an engine shot of the Eclipse at least have a turbo in there, and if you've shifted into first gear once, there's no point in doing it twice.

It's not the action that ruins the movie, it's the details.  I got the same experience from this that i got from a Rambo movie as a kid:  Fast and the Furious gets you caught up in the action of it all but once the movies over, or you go to watch it again you laugh and point at all the inconsistencies.  Much like how Rambo never reloads, or will have an injury in one scene and then the next scene he'll be perfectly fine.  It's fun to watch, but would have satisfied the technical nut in you if they just put two seconds worth of effort into the material; it's as if they finished the movie and didn't watch it themselves.

EDIT: I forgot to add "I agree"
