Soon after I got out to the flight line, the Army's Golden Knights did their first jump. This jumper landed about 75 feet out in front of me.

Here I am in front of the of the F-117 that nearly gave Saddam a 2,000 lbs headache!

One of the crew members (pilot or WSO) of this Strike Eagle was nice enough to get a picture of me next to the cockpit. (The F-15 Eagle is my favorite operational jet fighter in the world ).

Sunday the 24th, Day 2!

Here is a flyable replica of the Orville and Wilbur Wright's 1905 Wright Flyer III. Of course it's made of modern materials and a modern mortorcycle engine (I think from a Harley).

The B-1's triple bomb bay set. The divider between the front two bays can be removed to make one large bay (for ALCM's or ACM's).

On my way out, I got a bunch of pictures of the B-1B Lancer on display.

After the Harrier came to a stop in midair, it did a number of things like hover backwards and hover sideways. Here it is hovering sideways.

I wish I could've gone, but I ended up working Saturday morning and then I had car problems. Looks like it was a blast. Maybe next year...

I don't have any still shots of the Harrier's short take off but I have plaent of its flight and when it hovered over the runway for over a minute before landing.

One of the two F-117 Nighthawks from the 8th Fighter Squadron (The Blacksheep) performed on Saturday and Sunday.

The Aeroshell T-6 Texan team perform a loop... I think these guys were originally sponsored by Red Baron pizza!

Saturday was the only day that the B-2 Spirit made a flyaby. The B-2 Spirit is stationed at Whiteman AFB several hundred miles away down in Missouri.

The Hornet makes a low speed, high angle of attack passby... it's only going a little over a 100 MPH doing this routine!

Soon afterwards, the P-51 Mustang "Gunfighter" joined up with the F-16 as part of the Heritage Flight.

... and the Falcon goes ballistic. I was able to get some cool AVI movies of the P-51, F-16, F/A-18, B-2, F-117, and the AV-8B+ during their flight demos, so if anyone's interested in seeing them, let me know.

In the next shot, the gear is retracting and the pilot kicks in the afterburner.

Aaargh! Just discovered I can't attach AVI files.

Anyway, back to modern fighters and aircraft!

Here's an F-16 from Hill AFB on a slow pass with its gear down.

A CAF Zero returns from its performance. This Zero replica started life as a Canadaian prop driven fighter built in the late 40's/early 50's. This Zero replica carries markings of one of the Japanese pilots involved in the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Something like only 2 real Zeroes are flyable in the entire world.
