Possible some early Jetfires even had Takatoku Stamps by mistake or main mold was being repaired and the old mold was put in temporary in ..so you could have 1984 Takatoku Painted Jetfire, but not something I've ever seen.

How many actual variants of Jetfire are there? Will this include bagged and reboxed variants?

  3. Looking Forward to buying the Armored Version! Ill wait to buy another example once it goes on Clearance sale and it will! all because too many macross collectors are purest not getting the stylized point of it while transformer collectors are just going to pass unless they make a god of flame version.

This will be one Robotech/Macross offering that will be a one run and done.

Thank you much for the reply,

After receiving two VF’s on the literal slow boat from China, and now with the missing pilot, this might be my last purchase from Kitz

Your not alone. KC has so much potential but its run like a bunch of grandmas at a flea market booth. The mold is Ok if they just upscaled it to 1/35, added better thicker plastic, more metal for balance and created great packaging they could really go places.  No one can blame you for a last purchase they deserve the criticism.

It should be similar to the Hikaru 1S Mechanic Edition is terms of effort to procure.

Super Ostrich is just P-Bandai / TWE release, and still available on Yoyakunow.

Ok thanks! I might just keep the money aside for the Elitseeker as I know its going to be impossible for me to keep one of these clean even inside a case. I've got two full time air cleaners & dehumidifiers and still dust is endless. dust itself, often from people have trace oils on them .

I would be careful with EE. everything I've bought from them they broke the seal, opened it and looked through it. told me in email it's to ensure nothing is broke but not everyone is cool with that. also they will take deposits without telling you and not refund you if cancelled unless you say something to them. I would use PP with them as a payment method.

I've always had this opinion of graded anything. I don't need to pay someone to tell me how good or not good my toys, comics or whatever are. I've been collecting the stuff probably as long or longer than whoever's grading them so I know what I have. But, if people like collecting stuff that way, fine with me, just means ill never have those items in my collection and probably makes my, only touched by me versions even more rare and special. Plus, the 1/55 in particular being the greatest toy of all time is so much better when played with.

Well it's been one of those things for me were it was engrained from my youth as I collected baseball cards and that's were the whole crazy started. The cards worth this but if it's graded it's worth double kinda thing. Scam yeah but back then it seemed a good thing. These grading company's are owned by billion dollar parent companies. It's all big money And backroom deals. Baseball cards, coins, toys.. they are trying to make everything unaffordable and rare by creating perceived scarcity. Sometimes I learn the hard way, sometimes I have to learn a few times to get it right.  My only defense really is the last three years I've suffered unknowingly from radon poisoning and the lack of oxygen was starting to create brain damage. Fortunately I figured it out before it got to the point of dying from it. A Lot of choices I made during this time were from exhaustion and lack of sleep(radon displaces oxygen ) It was a mistake in sending those things in and for buying too much. Even today I had the chance to buy an extra something I've already have but rethought about maybe letting the other person have it, maybe it's been something they always wanted. I agree about you probably knowing more then the graders. I think they hire high schoolers to work there. They asked me several times in emails what I sent them was, how to know if it was complete and what made the variants different. Like my submission was a training program for them. Total shitshow I agree with you and you all will never hear me pushing it ever again. I had to rethink and relearn why and what I was collecting otherwise it's not fun to do.  Graded sealed things are like that guy who has an amazing sports car kept in the garage but he never drives it, worried it might get dirty or a scratch but talks about it constantly like it's some religious idol or something. I just don't want to be that guy(anymore).

I lurk on quite a few FB forums where G1 Jetfires are sold, and a trend I've noticed over the last year is "perfect paint job" Jetfires suddenly being found. Even though they are known to often have paint rubs on the nose before being removed from the box for the first time, the same crowd that a few years ago figured out there are variations between different molds and which version parts don't mix and match very well, and then publicly discussed and eventually mastered bleaching them, are now "finding" them with no paint rubs, no fading, no thin spots or chipping anywhere, etc.

I guess if they are done with care and end up looking like the real thing, I can't complain too much. But no one is admitting to repainting them, so just on principle I don't like the dishonesty. I'm sure some of these people shelling out $150-$200 for a [touched up] Jetfire with no accessories are going to also shell out to get them graded. I wonder if the scammer leech price fixing grading companies catch the paint touch ups and ding them for it?

I've got a half dozen mint Jetfire's and your right they all have some flaw one way or another. some of that info released(in this thread too mostly) has been very helpful as I have most of the variants.I've got one jetfire with a factory chip on the sliding chest plate with the red paint has yellow paint underneath it.. that's weird but never removed from cradle or why it would be yellow .

I will tell you this CAS has no clue what they are doing. they took the tape off several 85 Bandai 1/55's that were totally mint 95+ grade .. graded them as open box. ripped the box flaps on each box like savages I sent them 8 and to damage those robust old box's was stupidity.  it was like they just forced the contents out will tugging at an angle gripping onto the flap.. it was sheer stupidity for them to be so wreakless. I don't recommend anyone get a toy graded unless its so rare it needs to be documented. I think most that send in just want them cased and one would be better off just having CAD out of Canada make one or getting a protector made by Katana Collectables .

Also CAS screwed up bad on paperwork mixing pictures with other things I sent in. even after i told them they did not fix so when you look online its the wrong toy. they also screwed up the grades were 75/80 got 85+90  while the 85+90 got 75/80 grades. you can just look at the box's and see the difference. one box looks factory fresh with a 75 grade while another the box is beat up, faded, dented and its suppose to be a 90+!

I used to be a coin collector & comic collector its all a scam... they work backroom deals to give better grades to certain dealers and some will steal your stuff and replace it.  I was a big defender of stuff entombed but over time I've listened to others views like on here were people talk about the shelf life of the toys. I would rather display out of the box or not have it. that's why I'm going to be selling the rest of my Macross & Jetfire 1/55  I can't enjoy them.  not getting rid of them all just copies and the takatoku ones . Keeping my 1985 VF-1J, Elitseeker, Super Ostrich & 1990 + Jetfire Variants everything else is going. Macross stuff I'm just collecting 1/48 now and select things. I already sold about 30 jetfires but never needed to doctor them they are so in demand people like them in used condition. used might be better as they will fall apart sooner or later anyways from packing parts failing to yellowing.

the Bandai 1/55 were always superior to the 1/55 Jetfires in terms of quality and packaging. I've got Jetfire graded were the foam nugget and strap has come undone. the toy itself is destroying the foam insert its in. latterly grinding up the foam anytime there is movement.. this was graded by CAS last year, sealed. when at someone at CAS had dropped the box before encasing it (hard!) and over the last few months the toy has destroyed itself.. now the case itself just sitting in a box has developed cracks... the toy is ruined, has to be cracked opened, fixed and will no longer be a factory sealed jetfire. at least with the Bandai ones they age gracefully.

  9. Now after seeing updated pics I know for sure I'm going to buy these. TZ has a huge reputation for quality and since this is the first toy they were allowed to transform I cant help but think the delay was to ensure as many flaws were fixed. only one thing for certain it cant be any worst then the durability of KC valks

Since Three Zero did borrow the Voltron Mold from Bandai and just added fold away panels to hide the legs and Bandai has loaned them other molds as well.... I have to wonder if quietly if Bandai helped them design this? as crazy as that might sound given technically they are not competing at least in markets on paper. stranger things you never know
