  1. OMG, neat!

I don't get to follow the show as regularly as I'd like, but I almost hate it that they've revealed who the mighty Stig is, now.

Part of the fun was wondering just who this well-nigh-invincible God of the tarmac was.

slight bit of a bummer; almost like if Snoopy finally got the Red Baron, or Wile E. Coyote caught the Roadrunner.

Word is it's just a publicity thing. 'Der Schumi' was still driving F1 when the last Stig jumped off the carrier and was replaced with the current one.

  2. Forgot to mention -- nice composition. I'm just thinking it would be better if you could have taken 2 or 3 steps to the left. Something about the rear car's wheel arc being visible feels right to me.

Lol! I did take a pic like that but the big a$$ Dutch license plate on the Lambo screwed up the whole shot. <_<

I would've asked the owner to move it back a little, but he had blown up the engine just a half hour before I took the pic and wasn't in too good a mood.

  3. Got an all acces pass to go to an Italian car event yesterday and thought I'd share some pics.

Some old Maserati. Don't know what type.

308 Chassis used as a testing platform for F40 technology. IIRC only three were made. Very VERY loud and very VERY ugly as seen below.

    Classic Lambo.

    Ferrari 275 GT

    Classic Alfo Romeo...I think.

    ::EDIT::

I also got to join the pacecar-driver in his Audi S4 Quatro for a few laps. Dang those S4s go fast! Now I understand why they put bucket seats in those things. The guy doesn't have to pay the bill if he wrecks the car so he doesn't feel like he has to be extra carefull going around the track. Those boys really push those cars to their limits, we were overtaking all the exotics and watching the faces of the other drivers while we were doing it was loads of fun!

  4. yes...hopefully soon. after that ill get the highly regarded 70-200 F2.8 IS in probably in 1 to 2 years time

Which reminds me..I haven't shown off my baby yet.

Get the 70-200 before going full frame. With Canon's 1.6x crop factor you'll have a 112-320 mm which you'll probably preffer to use on the 450D anyway, even when owning a full frame body.

  5. my non macross toy collection

    Drooool!

May I ask why you went with the 17-40? a 16-35 will give you wider angle and less overlap with the 24-70.

    *checks prices*...never mind.

I managed to arrange a VIP pass to a trackday with Italian sportscars for next monday. I should be able to get some nice shots there.

  6. Get the 50D. The extra LCD screen on top will give you loads of extra battery time. Also, if you have big hands like me, it's fit your hand better. The 28-70 L lens was replaced by a 24-70 mm version a couple of years ago. If the 24-70 is too expensive, why not get the 24-105 f4?
