Is there any reason to assume that the SA wouldn't have invented new designs just like the Varauta did? Or are the Varauta's "new" designs assumed to be old Protoculture designs?

Is it generally assumed that the SA has automated factories and cloning facilities of their own? Half a million years of attrition seems like it would have whittled them down to almost nothing if they didn't have some way of replacing their losses.

Shouldn't they at least have a pinpoint barrier system? Doesn't every variable fighter since the VF-19 have one?

I feel like the Northampton could use a replacement that's a bit sturdier. Don't they get destroyed more than any other ship?

Could the ARMD-class carriers docked to the Macross be replaced by Uraga-class or Guantánamo-class carriers?

What's the purpose behind the Zentradi variants of the new ship designs? Is it just an aesthetic they prefer or is there some functional difference?

Something I was always unclear about: was the Macross Frontier the de facto capital of the NUNS because President Glass was a passenger? Does his authority encompass Earth as well?

If the original SDF-1 Macross only transformed because it couldn't fire its main cannon in cruiser mode, why were subsequent ships like the Battle-class designed to transform at all? Does it provide some other tactical advantage?

Any ideas why the Mardook fleet apparently had no gun destroyers? It seems like they had heavily modified versions of every other Zentradi warship.
