  1. i would imagine death trap more than fugly. It's for the same people who are fans of the Ariel Atom. A street legal go kart with a car motor.
  2. But then that is typical of pretty much any 1000hp car. I mean just look at Ferrari's that push less than 400hp. They're required for scheduled maintenance (not including oil changes) every twenty thousand miles, and it is NOT cheap. At least if you're going to blow money on broken (or parts that typically break at certain mileage) parts, then it may as well be on a car with 1000hp.
  3. only in Japan would people purposely shoot for 1000hp and actually get it.
  4. but also the whole point of getting the FWD model and not the AWD model is not just to save weight, but to save dollars. I don't know about you, but a few thousand dollars is a LOT of money to someone like me, especially to be spending it on a car that is 10 years old. I don't understand why FWD A4 owners would trash talk the quattro, the A4 is a drivers car not a racers car, so the quattro is of course the better choice. I personally thing AWD wins in most cases but it also depends on who's making it. There is no way i would take Mitsu's AWD over Nissan's or Subaru's because there is far superior technology that is invested into the latters drivetrain (electronic differentials, rear favored torque splits, active yaw control, etc.) that Mitsu, Honda, and Toyota are behind on (especially if you go back 10 years).
  5. I don't like the fact that it's a Neon either, but when compared to an Eclipse, it definitely adds up. The Eclipse is an overrated car, much like Integra's and Prelude's. It's decent looking, but they're heavy, hard to see out of, and are way underpowered. The second gen eclipse or the old Talons, eventhough they're not as good looking (though that's a matter of opinion) they're much cheaper and come with the same motor and drivetrain, so you get more for your dollar.
  6. The AWD in the GS-X was known to have issues, also it is VERY rare to find a GS-X without a Sunroof and sunroofs not only add weight, but they also kick off some inches on the already minimal head room. The GS-T is only quicker in a straight line and that all boils down to weight. You can find one w/o a sunroof and w/o the extra power amenities which shaves off enough pounds to give you a good headstart against the GS-X model. But if you're going to go through all of that trouble, just buy a used SRT-4. Then you still get a Turbo I4 FWD but the motor will require less work to make it faster and it will be much newer so there won't be any heavy maintenance to perform.
  7. woo hoo! Psylocke! i never really cared much for Cyclops, he always seemed like such a wussy. Havoc was always cooler but was attached to X-Factor, and that comic wasn't so great.
  8. Dude! no wonder i didn't watch it!!!
  9. yeh that's a bit odd.. Sara and her profound nudity was about 90% of the appeal the comic book had on the reading public. The other stuff was just a bonus.
  10. Kyle You are clever, and often come up with intelligent and funny comebacks to other people's stupid remarks.
  11. oh wait my bad... did i say "every series"?... I meant every series that matters.
  12. Mitsubishi has a TON of problems, my good friend is a master mechanic at Nissan/Mitsubishi dealership and the mitsubishi side is going to quietly close its doors in January. The 4G63 motor is nearly 2 decades old and eventhough it went through a couple redesigns, the most recent being flipping the motor 180 degrees and giving it new cam timing, it still goes to show that Mitsubishi doesn't innovate (to its compared market) whatsoever. They have a decent AWD system, though its still subpar compared to Nissan's and even Subaru's. The 4G63 is the ONLY motor they have that is decent, but even that motor still uses a cast iron block and is belt drive (where as most motors are now chain driven) just like their V6 is also belt drive. Overall they make dumb decisions, especially in the American market; why didn't they bring the FTO instead of the Eclipse? and as soon as the GTO (3000GT) got cool looking, they dumped it. As for the GS-T eclipse, it uses the old style 4G63 before they rebuilt it, its front wheel drive so you'll have torque steer, and no normal sized male can fit or see out of the car comfortably.
  13. at least you get a "pick me up" after watching NGE. My wife just got ahold of her child hood nostalgia Sailor Moon... so now i'm stuck watching one and a half million episodes of Sailor Moon! But then right afterwards i'm going to make her watch every Macross series that has been released to date, so it'll make up for lost time.
  14. yeh diesels torque/hp band is very small too, so the power will be hot n heavy for about 2 seconds than crap out all at once. I would really like to see this be pratically used in racing. Every car that is equipped with a high output deisel (mainly UK) has never gotten any rave reviews because of the fact that the hp/torque can only be found in a very small and select RPM range. In race conditions where you need the power in a very wide range between gears i don't see a diesel performing successfully compared to the petrol models.
  15. That's an awesome price. I was on Amazon a few weeks ago and noticed they have a beta program up for their "Automotive" section. It looks like Amazon has no limits.
  16. I got NGE Platinum collector's box as an early christmas gift and finished watching the whole thing with my wife just a few days ago. This would be my third time watching this series from start to finish, first time in chronological as the DVD's were released, second time in random, and this time again in chronological but one DVD per day. The story actually made a lot of sense to me, even the last two episodes. But i know if i had only seen it once i wouldn't have understood a thing, the problem is that really important stuff is said at the most boring times, so it's easy to miss. The last two episodes make perfect sense if you REALLY pay attention to the whole series, but its easier just to watch the movies and get it that way. But the movies are boring aside from Asuka's last battle and it was already hard enough to sit through two episodes of shinji fighting with his own insecurities as it was. All in all it's good, but for the average viewer, it's not going to add up to much. I basically had to sit there and explain every single thing in every episode to my wife in order for anything to make sense, and pretty much warned her it would be kind of a let down before she even got to the last episodes. All in all she found the whole thing entertaining, and found the end result different but not favorable.
  17. That's great news! so how do you feel about your final decision? I'll admit the RSX isn't exactly the most noticeable or unique car on the road, but it really gets the job done. The only thing i don't like is that most of them come with sun roofs and my head hits the ceiling in cars with sun roofs, but if you can get one without it, then it's one of the two Honda's i'll ever buy, definitely a huge improvement on the Integra's of yesteryear.
  18. it would have been nice to see those drivers in anything other than a saab.
  19. it looks, sweet, any other super cars on the bench?
  20. mmm... 360 Modena... one of the handful of Ferrari's i have respect for.
  21. They were also the laughing stock of WRC with the EVO VII and its hard to come back after blowing up your cars in just about every race. Mitsubishi has a real class leading motor with their 4G63... but that's the only motor they have ever built that was worth a crap, and it took them over a decade to get it perfect. Their V6 still sucks, and the variety in their line up is null.
  22. sometimes if you attach a file in specific formats (like .bmp, and .art) it will give you an error. i have only been successful at uploading jpeg formats so if that doesn't work then i dunno.
  23. i would definitely have to say that if Porsche wanted to, they could take the design of the cayman and if they squeezed the 911 motor in there it would be the fastest porsche built in a loooong time... but knowing how stubborn porsche is about heritage, that's why i'm depending on RUF to do it instead. As for styling, they've definitely updated with the times incorporating newer technologies into the headlamps and some of the newer fender cues, but all in all i never really liked how porsche's looked to begin with. Take the Carrera GT, the car is suppose to be a super car, but if you catch it from the front it just looks like any other porsche on the market, barely distinguishable for a $440,000 car. It only gets interesting once you start to get to the rear quarter where the V10 resides.
  24. oh trust me, i'm not a big fan of porsche's signature look either, but it seems like from a design perspective, they're finally doing what they were suppose to be doing 20 years ago, and mid mounting their engines. What i want to see is RUF grab hold of a Cayman and turn it into a super car.
  25. Best Porsche ever created??? I'll be the first to say that IMO it definitely is. It has the mid engine layout which not only allows for better weight distribution and a more solid and rigid car, but also helps the car aerodynamically by allowing the roof to slope sooner. This car is equipped with a mediocre motor, but definitely has the room to spare for a certain Twin Turbo Boxster six that may be lying around.
