  1. Same rule applies as before: Only one absolute favorite gentlemen -forcing you to really think hard on this one. (If you find this too difficult -and it SHOULD be hard- use the burning home senario: seconds left, you get to keep only one...)
  2. The only rule? You can NOT -under any circumstances- list more than one absolute favorite toy. Pour moi? My Takatoku hands down: And thou?
  3. Well, humour aside, the 29 year old Takatoku I got o line is in near factory condition, with absolutely no yellowing whatsoever. I'd love to hear any tips from the guy as to how he pulled this off. Pour moi, I have the Bandais and Yamatos that I play with, and the Takatoku that I like to have sealed away for a glance every few days or so. Still, if there's a way to make 'em last, why not try it?
  4. Well, I was thinking in terms of everything really. I know a collector who puts sticker sheets and inserts in special baggies... ...and another who says never to do that because the paper will degrade when sealed in low quality baggies. etcetera, etcetera
  5. Oops, I thought the prototypes had been constructed, but just not mass produced.
  6. Has anyone come across these toy pics? Anyone know what happened to these prototypes? Thanks
  7. Aside from the obvious (not leaving your uncovered toys on the beach in the sun for days on end), how does one best preserve Macross toys? Including boxes, inserts and the like?
  8. Thanks! Yeah, this is my only Takatoku, and I'm sooo happy with it; I had absolutely no idea the quality of these toys was so incredible. It was a gift to myself that I've always wanted, and -after surviving some rough years- symbolizes the fact that I care enough about myself to get it. Lol, as tacky as that sounds... More coolness:
  9. K- I recently saved up my pennies and waited patiently to find a Takatoku Valkyrie online... ...and eventually bought the guy you see below. (Feel free to congratulate me ) Because it's complete, it comes with a little advert featuring some other Takotoku goodies. And low and behold, I see the VF-1D. Has this toy ever been produced by Takatoku? Was this company ever going to produce ths? Thanks.

  11. Hi all Anyone know if the Fast Pack armour for the VF-1As can be used on the 1J and 1S in this line?
  12. Everyone has preferences. That said, is there a Macross toy that makes you just go 'meh'? Or is there one that you just plain dislike? For me, I'm not much for the 1/48 scales, because I find the canopies too wide for my taste. And thou?
  13. That...is...beyond...incredible.
  14. Here she is: Believe it or not, the first Macross toy I was able to buy was a Joons, so it's dear to my heart for that reason.
  15. You don't have to own it, you just have to love it. (and you can only state ONE toy type) Pour moi, believe or not, if I was pegged down to only one, after much difficulty, it would be Bandai's chunky monkey, the VF-1j. Gods I know, I can't help it, I just love this toy.
  16. The pics of the 'Clone de Bandai Super/Strike Valkyrie' a quarter of the way down this page are of my Taiwanese Valkyrie. They were lifted from this site and placed here: http://www.robotechcollections.fr/collection_macross_autres.shtml While slightly humerous to me, I do feel that it's false advertisement, and if I could type french, I'd post somewhere that the product the purchaser would be getting is different from the one shown, because the one shown is not for sale and is sitting on my dresser.
  17. Anyone find this toy has a yellowish look?
  18. I've got quite a few things Macross, but I'd have to say that my favorite possession, is one that's purely a favorite for sentimental reasons... I was living overseas at the time, had cash for the first time ever, and purchased a Joons toy just because I wanted it. It sits on my shelf to this day, and symbolizes -in my mind- the day I started liking myself and treating myself well. None of the expensive purchases afterwards have come close to being as dear to my heart as this guy for that reason:
  19. I've been a HUGE Yamato fan since they came out with the original 1/60, but lately, I'm really into the chunky Bandai. Both are great toys, but there's something about the 1/55 that keeps me coming back: I had to order an Origins VF-1J yesterday...just had to.
  20. Yeah, it is a nice little oddity to round out a collection. I liked the Taiwanese knockoffs for the fact that the quality was strangely identical to the bandai. For some reason though, the box art didn't jive with the toy itself, and none of these toys included a gun clip. Weirdly, I've been offered pretty good money from collectors for this one, but have never been able to put a $ value upon it myself.
  21. Yip, I know it's a bootleg as well. I bought it many years back and always wondered what it might be worth. The color comments are what they are: this' how the Taiwanese knockoffs were. Check out the pics.
