  1.

So, I won 4 chunky monkeys via Yahoo Auctions via Buyee.

For those who have not used Buyee as a proxy before, here is total cost breakdown....

64,050 yen for the 4 valkyries

3,470 yen for domestic shipping from seller to Buyee

    1,000 yen consolidation fee

11,200 yen shipping to the United States

TOTAL  79,720 yen.... and this is after having used a coupon that took off 3,062 yen.

*sigh* At least they should be arriving tomorrow.

    P.S.

Advice for you guys out there with girlfriends/wives/etc....  NEVER do certain romantic things with her after having eaten habaneros.  I have been dying in pain for the past 2 days!    My fiance is soooo going to be buying me a valkyrie for this!

That's not so bad.  I spent:

    $938.33 for round trip tickets

$390.86 for 7 nights in a Hotel in Tokyo

$518.70 for 7 nights in Kyoto

and 12000 yen at the Mandarake Complex for:

    155VF1A.JPG.53968e91ae7e72dfd6b1afb1eddc4bcf.JPG

That's like $1950.00 for a 1/55 Brownie!  Not to mention the other $1000.00 I spent on food and gifts.

  2. Part of me wants Arcadia to produce a 1:3000 scale Flash Back Megaroad 01. But I'm not sure if I would buy it as it would be around 24 inches long and would probably be way more than I would want to pay.

  3.

The Venn diagram of my life would show that the domain of my math and computer science prowess does not intersect with the domain for common sense.

As shown in the diagram above, most of my finances is allocated to my Macross toy addiction, with little of my finances dictated by common sense. And since I am still a student, my major does not contribute much to my finances.

I'm starting to wonder how you are going to safely move you collection after you graduate and land a job.  More so if that job is nowhere near your current location.

  4. Everything gets transformed at least once when I receive it to make sure everything seated properly to avoid unnecessary stress on any part.  Following that, it depends on what I have out at the time.  My HMR cubical toy gets transformed about once a week.

    1S Roy, no missiles

A few months later TWE Super Packs

I’m interested to see how they tuck the 1S head under the body for a super flushed look like the 1J.

Just throwing this out there as nothing new has been announced and we can all speculate to our hearts content!  I doubt that this is going to happen but...

    VF-1J TV Hikaru

    VF-1S DYRL Hikaru

    VF-1A brownie

Followed by nothing! Just like what they did with the High Complete Model.  :bigshok:

    But I seriously doubt it.

  6. It would probably take at least that long to see all the durability issues with the Bandai 1/48.  I fear VF-0 pricing though.  A lot of members have posted their wish lists of what features/gimmicks they would like to see in a Arcadia V3 VF-1 in various posts over the years.   Honestly, like others, I can do without the air brake, wing flaps and waist swivel.

  7. Best

    1.  Bandai HCM VF-1J.  I've had it since 1985!  My favorite toy from my younger days.

    2.  Bandai Hi-Metal R Monster.  Because it's just AWESOME! :yahoo:

    3.  Arcadia VF-1S Hikaru.  They're just the right size and feel great in my hands.

    Worst

    1.  Takatoku Henkei VF-1A.  Quite possibly my 1st Valkyrie.  I played with it until it broke!  My god the thing was cheap and it looked horrible!

    2.  Bandai Hi-Metal R VF-1A Hikaru.  Because I got Bandai'd on the leg armor.  The QC was horrible on my 1st copy.  I'm still looking for someone who has 2 rights to trade with.  One of the feet will not rock back for Gerwalk mode.  It can swing forward, but not back.  It feels like it will snap off if I try to hard to rock it back.  The cover plate between the tail fins came installed at an angle.  It is not flush with the rest of the backpack.  It is either glued in or jammed in tight.  I cannot remove it to reinstall it correctly.  I was very fortunate that CDJapan sent me a replacement at no additional cost.  :good: My original copy is now my cubicle toy at work.

    3.  Bandai Hi-Metal R Regult.  Mine came with a droopy leg.  It stands fine and I can pose it, but if I pick it up, one of the legs droops down.

Additives/formulations to resist aging and UV exposure.

Similar to how paint on new cars vs old cars is much more resistant to being outside.

Isn't the trend to make plastics degrade and breakdown faster?
