  1. The only reason why I keep looking at this post is because I wanted to see if there were any new pics of the yf-19 or any news of the sort. Instead, I find almost 10 pages of non stop critique/criticism about things that I honestly couldn't care about, much less the fact that we can't confirm any of them based on the what, 3 pics we've seen so far? How about this, let's save whatever criticisms we might have until AFTER we see more shots that can give a better idea of what the product's going to look like. Seriously, this is starting to resemble the type of conversation my girlfriend has with her friends...
  2. Big Bertha should always bring her uglier 1/72 sister along. She's lookin' good in this comparison shot 419330[/snapback] When comparing the two, you can see that the wings on the 1:60 sit further back (which is more accurate to Kawamori-san's idea) than the 1:72 version. Maybe this creates an optical illusion which makes it look like the wings are smaller?
  3. I found a pic of art for the YF-19. It seems to me that the wings in this piece of art doesn't look any larger proportionally than the prototype 1:60. But you can also see the shoulder intake looks differently than the prototype too.
  4. I just noticed something while watching Macross Plus again. The shoulder intakes look a little small compared to the anime version. In the anime, they almost start at the shoulder mounts. I've posted the two different images to show what I mean.
  5. Thanks Graham for the pics! That thing's gorgeous! One issue of concern though was I was looking at the 1/60 version, and noticed that there still looks to be a noticeable gap between the head and shield. I hope you can't see through the plane from that section like in the 1/72 one (I wonder if they can ever completely close that gap or if it's another "anime Magic" kind of thing). But man, gotta say, Yamato really is starting to produce higher quality products. I was looking at the back/legs portions and compared them with the 1/72 one, and it was like looking at the masterpiece optimus prime vs the G1 I had when I was a kid. It's amazing how much your imagination compensates for you.
  6. *Disclaimer (I apologize for my horrible photoshop job) I'm so happy they got rid of those HUGE ugly arm tabs from the 1/72 Yf-19. Man, those things were eye sores!
  7. I'm sure that due to the previous phenomenal molds and cast (I.E. 1/48 vf-1's, 1/60 VF-0), Yamato will try and maintain their track record of giving the best possible models/toys for consumers. And I'm sure that all our concerns out there have been already mentioned by Graham to them, and for him to say that it's looking to be better than any other transformable YF-19 out there says something. Obviously, we all have been waiting sooo long for this, and because of that, we're scared that a yf-19 that's not completely accurate means that our wait has been in vain (maybe a little too dramatic). We all have been so nitpicky about this because we want it to be perfect. But like anything, the CAD is merely a rough draft. I'm positive that it's gonna go through some more polishing and retuning phases before it comes out for production (much like the Dodge Challenger concept car). Just hoping for the best I guess. P.S. just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making this site the first one I go to when I sign on!
  8. While looking through the different types of posts, it got me thinking. The vf-0 was released with FP, so I wouldn't be surprised if the YF-19 was released with FP too (attached of course, the same way as the vf-0 ala magnets). Now, what if Yamato was probably so impressed with the way the VF-0 was produced (CAD, magnets, other types of innovations) that they used what they learned from that, and applied it to the yf-19?...Alas, it's what lets me sleep at night while waiting for the YF-19...
  9. Geh?! Found this and looked at the release date at the end of the page. Even if it is an estimation, it sounds WAY too good to be true... http://animenewsi.com/index.php?itemid=9584&catid=245
  10. Regarding the 1/60 YF-19, I was looking at some CAD drawings of the vf-0s, and there were improvements between the CAD and the final product. Don't you think that the same would be evident with the YF-19 as well? Not to mention, I'm sure Graham would've voiced his opinion/criticism to Yamato if he felt something wasn't looking right. (Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but it's getting me through this nail-biting period of time.)
  11. Hi Graham, In honor of good business, next time you get a chance to talk to the fine folks at Yamato, can you tell them "Domo Arigato Gozaimasu!" ("thank you very much" for those who aren't fluent in Japanese) for the 1/60 YF-19 from one Macross fan living in the U.S. Truly, tears and excitement has filled my heart...
  12. Thanks for the pics Graham! I've been anxiously awaiting more pics for the VF-0, and I gotta say, it's coming along bea-u-ti-fully!!!
  13. Wow, the 1/60 VF-0 has come a long way from the 1/100. Man, that thing's gorgeous!
  14. Thanks for the responses. The ones I've had in mind are the Hasegawa 1/72 fighter YF-19 and YF-21. God, I hope it's modelling, too. Otherwise, I don't think I can afford it.
  15. Hey Everyone, I've been reading this site since it first started, but only recently did I get an username. Anyway, I know this sounds odd, but I've been trying to find someone who can build/paint/detail macross models for me. Of course, I'll gladly pay for their services (provided it's reasonable pricing). I know models' greatest joys come from building them yourself, but I really don't have the skill at all. If someone is interested, or knows someone who is, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you in advance And thanks to everyone for making this site so addicting!
