Very glad to see this, and looking forward to seeing the development!

I don't think I'll want as many shoulder covers as sh9000, but I would at least be interested in a couple. The prospect of side covers and larger TV pilots is also very appealing for me.

I believe that the side coverss are very possible to manufacture, only it is necessary to analyze that fixation points existing in the valkyrie can be used to hold them. That is the most complicated point.

Another point is the design of the same, since those manufactured by yamato do not correspond to those seen on TV, do you like the pattern of the image or the Yamato?

  2. My idea is to make molds of all manufactured parts to be able to reproduce them, including the effects of missiles and adaptations of them for the GBP. It will take me a while because the resin I use takes 4 days to dry completely, so if there are defects in the piece I need 4 more days to do another test. As soon as I get some finished pieces I will go up the results.

International shipments from my country (Argentina) are expensive and not very reliable, so I think it is convenient to wait until the kits are completely finished so it is convenient to make a shipment.

I will go making several molds from the blankets and other pieces to speed up the copying process.

Yeah I would need at least 6.  Are you going to make a modified shoulder cover for the Armored Valkyrie?

    Same here!  I'd buy them.

EmilianoAlfaro are you able to reproduce the neck parts?

I Buy the GBP about 10 days, I'll be receiving it in about 20 days. Is the shoulder cover for GBP different from VF1?

  4. How are fans of Macross? I have started to work on obtaining the optional parts for the VFs of the Hi-Metal R VF-1 models. I plan to manufacture the same parts launched by Yamato for the VFs in scale 1/60 (lateral breast covers and pilot seat to place in the nape in battroid mode) and in addition to make new pilots of TV version, since the originals are really horrible and are out of scale. I also copied the blanket of the shoulders since in the models VF-1S of Roy and hikaru they did not come when these models were released.

I leave some photos of the work in progress. The shoulder blanket was really good, all the details were copied with great precision by the rubber mold, I'm really very happy, when I paint it sure will look like the original.

The pilot's seat needs a lot of work still sculpted and detailed, but they can give an idea of how it will look.

Greetings and I hope to be able to advance soon! ...

I'm looking forward to seeing the results! Especially the missile effects.

My plan is to make a copy of the original set, then modify it and adapt it to vf-1j GBP. Copying the original set does not look anything complicated, with transparent resin and a thin upper layer of white / light blue paint will look great. I think in 20 days I'll have the set in my house so I can clone it.

I've seen that $0.99 hot glue already works.

I am currently working on getting optional parts for HMR VFs. The idea is to manufacture the same pieces offered by Yamato, including a pilot version tv that in the line HMR are horrible. For the pilot I will be based on the movie version of HMR that has better proportions. When I have some progress I will upload photos, now I am waiting for the missile effects  to reproduce them in crystal recin, we will see that leaves ...

Using this resin I have not had problems with the bubbles except in very small places, as for example the arms and legs of hikaru. I got several hikaru's without legs or arms due to the formation of a bubble inside during the dump. This can be solved by injecting the resin under pressure into the mold by means of a syringe. The vacuum pump is necessary for the rubber mold, I do not have one, but the results would be better using it. In the case of the cabin I first filled the container with the rubber and then immersed the piece, thus avoiding the formation of bubbles during the casting. The mold of the cabin was perfect, but it was only luck, perfectly it could have contained a bubble that would spoil all the work. There is a lot of trial and error in this procedure, you just have to get tested.

Is this it by any chance?

It is not of the same brand, but apparently it is the same product or one very similar, the one I use also comes in 300ml presentation and also splits with two parts of "A" for one "B". I would prove it without a doubt if you can get it.

Another advantage of this resin vs. the traditional one is that by being transparent it can be perfectly appreciated the presence of bubbles inside to remove them or wait for them to rise to the surface of the mixture.

    Great casting clear parts!

I wish I could do as well.

Could you indicate the resin and mold material you used?

The resin is of a local brand in my country, but is known as "crystal resin" or "liquid glass". It is made of two components and is used with a ratio of 2 to 1. The best thing about this resin is that it has a very slow hardening (3 days for total hardening) which allows to remove all the bubbles before pouring it into the mold. The mold was made with silicon rubber (Oxancil 1720).

The glass of the cabin was molded like the rest of the pieces, submerged in the rubber and once hardened to extract the original piece I made a small cut with the cutter. Once the copy was done, the same was sanded with 1500/2000 sandpaper and the final finish was given with auto polishing paste. All the model was made with the same resin due to the good result that I got with the cabin.

My next project is to make the optional parts for the hi-metal R vfs. I plan to clone the shoulder blanket and adapt the pilot's seat like the yamato. I also plan to make my own pilots of TV version, since the originals are horrible.

I am now working on my vf-1j cannon fodder from hasegawa :)

all the modeling section here is nice.  i got the clear kit with the yamato angel birds. i need to commission  it to someone. amazing detail on the figure

I'll give you 20 fan racers for a vf-1d 30th anniversary hahahaha. Your collection is simply amazing

  11. I love the fan racer and it is very difficult to get today, especially the clear version that I understand is the only one that comes with the pilot. When my friend bought his kit on ebay do not hesitate for a second to try to make the copy. It is relatively easy to copy, few pieces and simple shapes.

  12. Hi guys, I just finished my resin copy of the model kit of yamato fan racer 1/60. I share the finished work images. To show it, i adapt a connector of the bandai act 5 stage to be able to use it. I have a lot of work with the molds but I am very happy with the result.  I copy the original kit of yamato that was bought by a friend on ebay for 200 dollars, very expensive for me.

    Regards!
