  1. Is anyone planning to get the EX Salamis/Magellan?

It's up on HLJ for 40$~ (with shipping it'll probably go to 50$) I think that's a tad steep for the size of what it is you're getting. From that pic on HLJ, the Salamis hull doesn't look much longer than a HG's leg...

I know it's to be expected of the EX line, but at least the Musai was priced a little more sanely...

  2. Off the top of my head, Nimoy, Shatner, .....crap Sulu I keep forgetting his name......and maybe this rusky :p god I love dat rusky!

    Sulu is Georce Takei.

    Chekov is...

    I dunno.

Walter Koenig. Last time I saw him was in Babylon 5... haven';t seen anything from him since

    Nichelle's (Uhura) still around too.

It's really sad to see Doohan go. He was a great actor and a really great person too... he'll be missed.

  3. Yeah, it was a Toonami block show. IIRC, they pulled the series just before the last few episodes aired due to the 9/11 attacks (apparently, CN went ultra-sensitive and pulled anything that could at all touch a raw nerve). They later did re-broadcast the entire series on Adult Swim, but with little success.

Anyway, AS has had some success with their showings of Lupin III (i.e. they haven't cancelled it yet) so there may be some hope for other old-school shows like Macross.

Well, Rupan is on at like... 3:30AM on saturday/sunday night, isnt it? I honestly doubt the show pulls in any kind of numbers at that hour, its porbably just used as filler.

I think Macross/Robotech is FAR more viable an option, however, because a LOT of people who fit AS' demographic used to watch it when they were a kid/teen, or still watch it now.

Zeta would probably do much better than One Year War on AS, but not by much...

Yeah, Lupin got the 5AM slot, Detective Conan got the 5:30 slot... <_< Booo AS.

  4. Maybe I missed it if they did it in the show before... but...

The way the Cylon fighters emerged from the Basestar's arms was awesome. Even creeped me out a bit... They really did a good job of making these cylons look menacing.

  5. I'm really hope they do something about the splicing of animation, especially for the characters. Given the difference in how the new designs look, I can imagine how bizarre it looks to suddenly see them go back to their 85 look...

Movie II looks like it'll try to match the character designs a little better than before... Sara looks pretty accurate, Emma looks better, and Beltochika looks pretty true to her original too. Four looks a little off though...

Not to say I don't want to see the movies; I do. If only to see the newly animated Argama in action :D

  6. Ah hell... I missed the special on Monday. <_<

I've been pretty patient for the past few months waiting... it's always the home stretch that's the hardest. :p

Still got the last moments of Season 1 etched in my head; hasn't been since B5's first season when that happened...

  7. They run episodes on Comcast's On Demand service sometimes. I think episode 22 and 23 are available for viewing now.

They used to have the first 6 episodes on Sputnik7... though it's been well over a year since I watched them there. I doubt they're still up...

EDIT: Yup they are still up... but just eps 5 and 6. http://www.sputnik7.com/vod/anime/animeeve...otoms/index.jsp

CPM really sucks with their distro... I can't even find Patlabor around here much less VOTOMs <_<

  8. Mirai has never gotten hosed more than in Double Zeta (impression that I got being that if the La Vien Rose captain hadn't died, bright would have ended up having an affair)

    Can't really agree there.

Bright struggled constantly over whether or not to have an affair with Emily, but whenever he would even come close he would end up pushing her away and whatnot. Onscreen, they never did anything more than hug. Besides, even before Emily died, Bright was transferred off of Near Argama and the two were far, far away. That was why Emily was so eager to end the war: so she and Bright could finally be together.

Besides, I always knew Bright to have better taste than that :p

  9. The title for movie two is "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam II: Lovers"...

... now I'm going to expect to see Camille running around with a camera.

I think the movies are looking pretty cool; and though I initially had some fears of the new character designs, it looks like Movie II is improving them somewhat. Emma looks closer to her original version than she did in the movie 1 shots of her.

One of my friends swears she's gonna kill the staff if they omit Mirai from Movie II; I can't blame her either, Mirai always seems to get hosed these days.

  10. Argama is 320meters, Enterprise is about 305meters. Size is pretty much the same on the actual ships...

The models though... they're not. The Enterprise is 1/350 and I think the Argama is 1/1700. I was just poking at Bandai's ridiculously small starship sizes

  11. One of mine just arrived today... it IS enormous :o

    Where can I get one?

If you have a hobby shop nearby, they should be able to get them for you. If not, online places like Entertainment Earth, Starship Modeler (don't think they allow credit card though), Megahobby, and Hobby carry them. Polar Lights' (or RC2 now)sells directly through DieCast (something) Express... but they charge full MSRP.

Ignore the date on the photo... reset my camera and forgot to set the date back

  12. It's a fan produced series. And it's the reason the Motion Picture Klingon Cruiser in 1/350th scale has been dropped. The designer for the kits was working on this stuff instead of getting drawing in on time.

Wow, I didn't even know one was in the works...

I was actually hoping they'd at least do a 1/1000 for it; the ERTL TMP Klingon ship is impossible to find...

What is this amazing starship exeter episode/series stuff they have going on? The model work here seems better than what we got on most of the official productions.

Labor of love I guess... hehe
