  1. So far the Battle 25's debut has been great and it's clear from the new OP that we're destined to see more than that :)

I like that they've kept many of the good warship designs from Macross 7, like the Stealth Frigate, Guantanamo and Uraga ships. I'd also like to know more about our favorite exploding cruiser, that always falls to the Red Vajra's big gun :)

Speaking of the Battle 25, how about that weird way that it fires the main gun in cruiser mode? THat's really throwing me for a loop.

I speculated on another board that the Super Beam Weapon might need to gather energy around itself, similar to the way it functioned in Macross 7. The Macross 7 gunship also ejected what looked like blowback gas of some kind when fired. Perhaps this elaborate extrication of the Super Beam Weapon firing pylon in the Battle 25 served to free obstructions from around the gun enabling it to fire unhindered for carrier mode? Rampant fan speculation here :)

Yeah seems like that to me plus opening up the main firing mechanism and lowering it below the 4 barrels that it normally fires through (Like the Battle 7 always did) allowed the beam to fire in an arc probably by swiveling the main mechanism without a need turning the ship or needing to transform. Had that not been done it probably would have focused the shot as it normally does through the barrels and only been able to fire straight ahead. But it does make the main gun even more vulnerable when it did that as it no longer had the main mechanism encased in the guns protective housing. Aside from doing that the two guns of the Battle 7 and 25 are identical in apperance so maybe the 7 just never did it or it was a new adition to the guns abilities

  2. Dang! Was the guy caught? Is everything and everybody ok aside from the heroic hard drive? Didn't mean to make light of a bad situation, but the comment was a head-scratcher. And back on topic, glad you found what you were looking for.

Yeah my family was alright, and luckily only the harddrive was hit. it took a .380 round it was apanicked shot by the intruder, the intruder wasnt as fortunate I had to shoot him when he shot at me, he sad to say though he was in the wrong didnt make it. If he had he would have had to serve extra time in prison in my state a CO is a peace officer and certified the same as a cop we just dont have arrest poweres except in the course of our job, at a minimum he would have gotten an extra 5 years to any sentence because it was considered assaulting an officer. Thats all I can say on the matter for legal reasons.

here is the wallpaper by the way http://photo.gaforum.org/files/1/5/3/mf_wall-paper_01_l.jpg

Edit: it usually wont load the first go so hit refresh.

  3. Tried to google it but i cant seem to find it.

And no a Robotech Shadow Chronicles fan didnt shoot it an intruder did, you should never break into a house of a CO itll just get you extra prison time, cant go beyond that now for legal reasons.Still have the harddrive though it was a Western Digital 500Gb Home Essential HD, had 410 Gb of macross files on it that I am still trying to recover, interesting enough the bullet didnt get all the way through it.

EDIT Never mind i found it finally just had to use the right combination of words in kanji to find it, hard enough when you dont read japanese.

  4. I was wondering if any of you guys still had a copy of the pizza hut wallpaper for Macross frontier that appeared on their site when they were premoting it. I lost that pic when my external harddrive suffered a bullet wound recently :(

  5. ummm... they have changed it? i didn't see that option the one time i used it before...

Yeah where it ask to save as an flv file it also list mp4, but no matter what it isnt as good a quality as the video trailer file that was on the psp browser. I recommend getting it on your psp and then transfer it to the PC if you want.

  6. The link didnt work in my psp.

EDIT ok got it to work, typing the address didnt work so I went here on the psp browser and then clicked the link above you posted which poped up 3 options in english that the psp asked where to go and i clicked the last one with said Macross Ace Fontier for the PSP and it took me to the download page from there click the game logo and itll download its about 10 mb.

  7. If the first release is to have an art card then you... or at least I was out of luck with Yesasia.com.

Unless that sheet of stickers that looks like the Yum-Yum commercial is the bonus item.?????

Mine was indeed first release but I didnt get the card either, it is suppossed to be one of two random cards that were packaged outside the dvd itself. Because of that most places didnt give them out which was my case with amazon.jp The two cards were bigger than a dvd case and one had a valkyrie from each series in it and one wasw art of the vf-25 along with a headshot of the vf-25f alto version. Here is the link to what one looks like http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...6545&st=780 see post 785.

    Macross Ace Frontier Update

Replay feature and new pilots confirmed for PSP adaptation.

    by John Tanaka

July 29, 2008 - Following up on our screenshot update last week, we've got the latest details on Macross Ace Frontier, the new PSP title based off the classic Macross anime franchise.

Namco Bandai has confirmed the existence of a replay feature for the game. You can save full replays covering the start to end of your mission. The replays can later be replayed from your choice of camera angles and zoom levels. It's even possible to view the fight from the enemy's perspective. This replay feature is also compatible with the game's wireless ad-hoc wireless battle mode.

In addition to saving replays, the game also allows players to capture screenshots. These can be saved as wallpapers that are used in the game.

Namco Bandai has also disclosed a few new characters and mecha units. New characters include Vrlitwhai Kridanki (Macross), Guld Goa Bowman (Macross Plus), Mylene Flare Jenius (Macross 7), Gigile (Macross 7), and Luca Angelloni (Macross F). The total character count in the final build top 30. Joining the vehicle lineup, which will total over 40 in all, are Defender, Monster and Tomahawk.

Finally, a few additional details on the ad-hoc battle mode. The game lets you create an ID card consisting of your nickname, pilot status and level, mission completion percentage, item completion percentage, and play time. You can also decorate the card with your choice of icons and patches that you receive as you work through the game, and can add in a self introduction. This card is exchanged with other players when facing off in a wireless battle.

Macross Ace Frontier is now scheduled for a Japanese release on October 9. The title has yet to be announced for markets outside of Japan, so PSP owners should get set to go region free on this one.
