YES! Finally a 1/48 that I can get excited about. This might actually break me out of my strict 1/72 scale policy... now where to find the room for this. I too only wished that it had more removable access/fuselage panels and a wing with all the slats, fowler flaps and spoilers detailed and separated. This might be my exception. ;-)
A 1/48 VF-1 is not much bigger than an F-16 actually. It is smaller than a F-15 or F-14. Finding space for it shouldnt be an issue. Its not a big jet even compared to the 19.

looks pretty much like what I was expecting from Hasegawa: very clean, neat & crisp detail. No big frills; kinda like their F-15 kits.
Now all we need is a weapons set and fold booster from you Cap. That would really give the kit the bulk it needs in this size.

Personally i would like to see the captain do something far out there. Kinda like how fantastic plastic had a contest for people to design a model and the winning one gets made. Something to break the macross stalemate and really show off what John can do. 100% original.

id agree if it wasnt known that wave is revising the sculpt of the kit and no really new images are out yet. While johns is excellent i feel the wave kit will be better and...affordable.
not knocking johns kit BTW i own all 4 of his destroids.

Now you know the hell i went through mastering my kit. The kit is being repopped currently too and will be available again in the SSM store in the near months. Hopefully by christmas.
-
better hurry up and do this before wave releases their 1/72 tomahawk and pulls the rug out from under you.

Don't even get me started on the Monster.
(As a side note, in 1/48 scale, a Monster destroid would be 19 inches tall)
Oh it would be bigger than that. My 1/72 monster is already over a foot at its tallest main body point.

Also remember that WAVE is also popping new Ma.K models and retooling the older Ma.K molds. They are more than just macross. It just isnt a priority for them now.

WTF Is going on here. What is it with all this molestation talk and such. Come on guys.

Fantastic work HWR... are you gonna pick up the new Hase kit of the Falke?
That IS the hasegawa kit

Love the paint work and chipping - Absolutely fantastic! HWK MRII
Thanks WM. 1/20 scale really allows more flexibility in the level of wear one can present.

Oh of course this HAS to happen on my birthday!

Quick rundown. The head and its back parts are basically done. The center crotch part is together and the upper thighs have been made. Next ill be making the lower part of the thigh that the organic part of the leg attaches to. Once i have that done ill start making some rough 2D cutouts of the legs and the poses id like then get sculpting from there. Then ill finalize the weapons layout. I need to find a couple good 1/72 50 cal machine guns. No suicide gekko this tima around though. im saving those for something special.

Got the Gekko back on the bench. Another MGS based subject. Small sucker but it will be packed with detail.
-
I picked up the Rex and few other kits.
Thank You

Yes please go buy a rex...you know you want to

Nice Platoon homage there.
-
You needed some nudging to get it done though
-
Ill give ya a peek...
Its actually more of a rebuild/refit from a clumsy cat.
-
Yup thats it...

in the case of tamiya and hasegawa decals you want to use almost HOT water. It helps the decal stretch and conform more. Once its in place and you have got it on good let it set for a bit and take a paper towel dabbed in scalding hot water and press it on the decal. this will get it down more. Then apply your setting solutions,
