  1. I'm not getting the game yet, but between my roomates and I, we've got all three consoles.  When I do get the game, it'll be X-Box version.  I got a 38' Sony HDTV along with a Denon AVR-3803 reciever, so the X-box version is the only game that can take full advantage of my setup.  I have no love for Spawn and would rather have Link, but the GC doesn't support component cables (yet) nor does it support DD.  I don't particularly like the X-box's D-pad when it comes to fighting games, but that's what the PS2 adapter is for.  B)

The Gamecube supports component. You have to order it from Here. Now it doesnt support DD 5.1 just Dolby Pro Logic II.

Oh man, so Nintendo finally got off their arses and released component cables. It's a blessing and a curse, because I highly doubt Nintendo uses a lot of shielding on their cables, just enough to get the job done. If only Monster could reverse-engineer the GC's EEPROM protection. As for Pro Logic II, it ain't sh1t.

  2. But like I learned with Wind Waker.... a game looks far different in motion.

You make a very good point. I guess I'm still jaded after the previous 3D flops.

Effect: You could be on to something, there's precedent where Japanese games have been released along with full English text (ie: Vampire Savior for Saturn). The only problem would be the sheer amount of text and dialogue in your typical Macross game. Here's hoping anyway. :)

  3. Even though an actually rape isn't seen it's pretty much suggested. I think it would be pretty graphic to show a 5 minutes rape scene when a torn shirt tells you what likely happen.

Roy hit the nail on the head, you guys are reading way too much into the series. Remember, this is Kawamori we're dealing with here, not the Wachowski brothers.

  5. I'm not too impressed with the screenshots thus far. They are the best 3D Valkrie models I've seen yet, but trumping previous games' Valkyries isn't much of a feat. Considering it's 2003, the graphics look heavily dated. Here's hoping the gameplay is on point.

  6. Yamato can produce M7 Valkyries that are unique to VFX2 (like the VF-19A). I think it's safe to say that Yamato will eventually release stuff like the VF-5000, but first they have to finish milking the VF-1 line. Gotta build up that capital somehow.

  7. Yeah, Yamato's stickers leave a lot to be desired. But you can't still get them to work, just takes a little elbow grease. First, put on some surgical gloves and cut off the excess borders. Second, heat them over a heater for a couple of seconds (not too close or else they'll shrivel). That's what I did to my 1/60 Focker, and after a year of play, none of the stickers show any signs of coming loose.

  8. I understand that you are pissed, but drop it. Mods work and get nuthin.'

I agree with you all to a point. Yes, the mods are doing this strictly as volunteer work. But at the same time, I can't go soft on them because they are doing this strictly as volunteer work. It's not like Shawn is holding their families hostage, they're free to leave whenever they want. Also, unlike painting buildings, there would be no shortage of volunteers, since dozens of people here have literally begged to become mods (hell, one even succeeded). To some degree, the mods must enjoy moderating here. And hey, they do a pretty good job at that. So if a mod bitch slaps a member for getting out of line and that member gets upset, I trust the mods to work it out, they always have. I just don't want to see a mod crying "wah wah wah, feel sorry for me cause I get a hundred angry PM's a day, wah wah wah!"

  9. I for one would buy any and all Mac Plus 1/48 toys.

Especially a big ol' hinkin' VF-11B!

Ditto. Bigger is always better, and with the Valkyries, 1/48 is the gold standard. If Yamato were to release 1/48 Mac + Valkyries, I'd buy them all. Yes, even the Purple People Eater.

Btw, is it just me, or didn't this thread have a third page? :o

  10. I was thinking, if Yamato made a 1/48 YF-19, how big would it be? So I pulled out my 1/72 HCM Hikaru and my 1/72 VF-19A for some comparison shots. DAYAM! I always knew the VF-19A is taller, but I never knew just how badly it towers over the piddly VF-1! I don't even think my display area could accomodate a 1/48 YF-19 in fighter mode

BTW, the backpack definitely is not in scale. If you mentally erase it from the picture, the VF-1 looks even smaller.

  11. How about TV Max "J" or something unique like the Low Viz?    These DYRLs are getting old....................and boring...................

Come on, man! Didn't we go through this with the 1/60's? To summarize:

VJ-1J Hikaru - with (non canon) FAST Packs

VF-1J Max - with FAST Packs

VF-1J Milia - with FAST Packs

    VF-1D

VF-1A CF - technically a crossover product, but who's complaining?

What BSU said. Yamato knows that the most efficient way to make money is to sell variants. They'd be stupid to end the 1/48 line with the DYRL Valkyries (and the low-ris & 1J). As long as the 1/48 line sells, the more variants Yamato will produce. In the meantime, chill.

  12. The 1/48 Super shouldn't have any limitations. On the 1/48, the rotation point is on the Valkyrie's knee, which is unencumbered by the leg armor. However, on the 1/60, the rotation point is on the upper shin (which *is* line art accurate), which is locked into place by the leg armor.

  13. Everything about the game was substandard. It's only redeeming elements were the opening and closing movies (it's a shame the Macross DVD special didn't include the Milky Dolls' concert). It also had a cool transformation for the VF-1. At that time, it was the most accurate 3D model of a Valkyrie in any game. That's about it.

  14. Hmm. I just noticed an 'e-mail settings' option in the control panel. Anyways, that did the trick. I'm not sure if I just missed it before, or if it was just added. If it was the former, then shame on me. If you just added it in, then thanks :D

  15. Is there any way that we can make the e-mail tab optional, just like the AIM, ICQ tabs? It's only going to make correspondence miserable for those of us whose clients are set up to block incoming e-mail from unknown senders. Also, without a filter, it's going to be a lot easier for anyone to mailbomb e-mail accounts. Personally, all my MW messages are done via PM. Forcing the e-mail tab to appear is redundant.
