This season was actually pretty good. I felt like the last one was a real drag. Too much drama and no laughs or action. This one felt pretty well balanced and found humor in what could have been a really depressing story. My favorite part without trying to give too much away was the “Listen to Dee” moment. It was cheesy, silly and just all around great.

Have to say, Hawk was kind of hilarious in episode 4 with his comments about triggering, and safe space.  Talk about turning things on its head.

"Stop with the aggression, micro and macro."  Funny.

I can see Robby’s turn make some sense.

His relationship with his dad is crap.  Daniel helped to turn him in.

Kreese is the only one who actually gave him practical advice to survive his prison stint.

Then he’s got Tory who can sorta relate to him and his upbringing.  And they share the whole jilted by Miggie and Sam thing.

So, the seeds were there for it.

    Got nothing for Hawk’s turn.

Yep, pretty much agreed on the last point...  I don’t get how he suddenly changed his mind, should have been a slower build up for that one next season.

    Spoiler

Although I suppose you can kind of see Hawk having some regrets about breaking the arm.  I do wonder though, could he be the secret Cobra Kai plant?  Episode 8 of season 4, bam, he turns on Johnny and Daniel.

That would be logical.  Cause while he and Demitry can have a rivalry, the alternative is him vs Kyler, and let's face it, Kyler as an antogonist kinda sucks, in that episode when he joined, I remember how aback he was taken when Hawk took out the chubbie kid.

I love the funny part about spelling Kobra with a K, they can call us Triple K...  Like KKK?  And how long does it take for facebook message to get delivered... Ha... that was hilarious, Johnny is really kinda dumb.

  3. I for one would be curious to see this model of streaming contents and how it works out.  There isn’t a set pattern yet for what works.

Mulan was a wasted opportunity because Disney decided to charge so much, I think $8 to $10 would have been in the right spot.  I think WW84 was also a wasted opportunity, because they offered it in hopes of jacking up subs.

The internet is training people to cut cords, who wants to cut the cable subscription only to be forced to subscribe to five different other services in turn.  Either theaters will make a come back, or the movie business is headed into a nosedive.  Because the amount of cash being laid out to make a movie is utterly out of proportion now to what they might be able to make back.

WW84 is going to be a big loser as a stand alone movie at this rate.   Then Black Widow is next on deck unless Disney holds out for movie chains...  one could almost envision Disney buying chains themselves to try to bring back audience if the extended streaming model doesn’t work.  Because the one thing streaming takes away is the sense of urgency.

I don’t have to watch the show of the week now, I can pull a one time sub to Disney and watch it all at once and cancel it thereafter, whether it’s one or two months, it doesn’t matter.  As soon as the content is sucked dry, I go elsewhere and wait for the content bowl to fill back up for a particular service.

The Force is Hot Females? :good:

Dunno....Gal is about as hot a female can be.....but it still did not save WW84 from being a complete mess...;)

Yes, people still watched it right?  Did anyone here remember the movie Entrapment with CZJ?  I'm pretty sure most people went to that movie just to see her.  The story was a joke even with Connery headlining.  Besides, seriously, unlike guys, girls aren't nearly as interested in movies overflowing with testosterone.  Hollywood's intended audience was men, that's who brings in the bucks, never mind that women probably are a larger potential audience.  Who here actually went to Sense and Sensibility, or Bridges of Madison County... seriously.

Yes, the First Order will be a Big Mac with Frys, and the Final order will be a fish sandwich.  Yep... First Order, and Final Order, that's about how effective they were.

  5. You know, if Jenkins bring in Gal Gadot and a few hot female leads for the movie, I'd be up for it.  Top Gun, girl style.

Cause, the one thing we don't need is another Biggs, or Wex (or whatever the heck JJ's buttboy's character was named).  And as long as they keep it realistic, meaning X-wing pilots aren't also marines that storm star destroyers, that would be good.  The Finns have their role, the Poes have theirs.

    :(

Yeah...  except Finn, but hey, there must be a demographic out there that loves to hear the word REY screamed at the top of the lungs.  In fact, given Disney’s money troubles, they could string together a low cost show with various instances of Finn screaming REEEEYYYYYYYYYYY, put it together with reused footage.

let’s see...  here are the list of spin offs I would like to see.

    Qui-Gon: The Younger Years.

    Piett: Serving with Vader.

    Wedge: Commanding Rogue.

    Chewbacca: Christmas Special Redux.

    Hux: Backstabbing Office Politics.

Rose: From Chinese Fast Food to the Resistance, Riding on Hot Sister’s Coattails.

Wicket: The Further Adventure of the Ewoks.

Solo and Organa: Married... with a Scoundrel. (Liea’s POV)

Solo and Organa II: Married... with stuck up. (Han’s POV)

Solo and Organa III: Married... not anymore...the Happy Separation. (Ben’s POV)

    finally... lest we forget:

    Jar Jar: the Imperial Years.

we can turn these shows into a bunch of different types, horror (the Jar Jar show) comedy, drama series, reality show, just name it.  That’s going to fill out the Disney Star Wars Universe.

oh, and Thrawn needs his own show too...  Thrawn: Into the Unknown Regions.

  7. One thing about the starship, I think it’s had several public failures.  But then again, the same was try from the Falcons, how many times did they fail to nail the barge landing?  Now it’s so routine, people don’t even care... even though nobody else is quite doing the same yet.

to put it simply, what Musk has done with SpaceX in less than two decades is nothing short of incredible.  He is the kick in the ass that ULA needed to get moving on their effort, hope the demo mission for ULA goes well.

Here's a shot of the Lun firing those missiles:

Nice, never saw that picture before.

such a plane might still find use in today’s combat scenarios.  As a reminder, that thing also has a couple of 23 mm turrets.  You could almost think of it like an ultrafast corvette.

The ancient Lun ekranoplan was towed to a new location where it will be the centerpiece of a future military museum.

A reminder, those hump thing on the top.  They were designed to carry anti ship missiles.

I remember the artist rendering of this plane back in the mid 80s,  it is amazing to see the actual thing.

AFAIK, the F-35 uses lots and lots of tape, for sealing panels.  Not sure about the -22, I think it uses more putty/effort, and tried to "just do EVERYTHING through the weapons and landing gear bay doors".

Duct tape, also known to any first year engineering student as the universal solution to any problems.  If you don’t like the color... just paint it black, or in the case of the USAF, paint it grey.

as a relatively famous person might have said once. If you don’t know the utility of duct tape, then you ain’t a real engineer.
