They really are milking this connected universe, with the end of credit scene.
The goodSpoilerMaking fun of Romanov’s pose. Ha, that was classic. Easily the best part of the movie. It’s offered a connect back to her origin story. At least no massive CGI fight, thank goodness. Red Guardian prison scene, kinda funny.
The bad
SpoilerThe villains were so boring, another hidden organization with plants all over the place… oh, and it’s not Hydra. It would have almost made sense if they were Hydra. And no continuity, the ending just kinda fizzled out.
The ugly
SpoilerThe Romanov fake family back story, and how they came together, seriously make me want to puke. I want to see the nasty, ugly side of black widow, and instead we get a human interest story. See, this nefarious organization do these nasty things, but let’s gloss over that and do fake families. And the ending with Ross is just so unsatisfying, how the hell is the US military in Russia with the sec of state? Did Natasha sweet talk old Ross to let her go, blackmail him, fight her way out?
this story line felt a lot like they were trying to do a female version of Winter soldier, and it just falls flat. They could have done a much better job with Widow’s back story, basically potential wasted. Like Solo stand alone in the anthology series. -
It feels like a middling Marvel movie, but given what’s going on with Loki, Widow, Stark, Vision, they aren’t truly dead… just will get to a point when RDJ, ScarJo, and Bettany needs a new gig.
-
Glorious purpose indeed.
SpoilerAlthough, this kinder gentler Loki seems odd. Enjoyed President Loki and my new personal favorite, alligator Loki.
I personally hope he stabs Sylvie in the back, metaphorically speaking

What if might be interesting… but she hulk? Hawkeye? Not that interesting… you may as well do adventures of Wong.
hey, I have one for you… how about Thanos.
You can do pre avengers, lots of options there, or post snap.
cause villains, good ones are what makes Marvel.

This sounds suspiciously like the people at Disney studios have somehow failed to come up with credible new story lines that doesn't dip into the well, or is somehow offensive, and then Disney said, screw it, let's outsource. Next thing you know, you'll be trolling through the fan fiction boards for ideas.
-
surprised they didn't just get permission from John de Lancie to digitize his younger version and have him do the voice acting.

Spoiler
So, there was this part where Loki is going all goggly eye over Sylvie, and I'm just wondering what is his play here.
The selfless bit seems just a tad out of character. But then Ravonna had to go and spoil it all. Pity.
You can see Loki doing a Sif on Sylvie.
Loki is a great show precisely because the main character is so flawed, he is pretty much us. And we root for him to win in a way, just like we'd root for a Batman to win in a DC universe full of overpower suits, we have a plain man of will, yep, totally broken but relatable. I'm really curious where the next episode takes us. Like I said, this is nothing like the first two entries. I couldn't care if Wandavision and Bucky and Sam come back for a season 2. But I would want Loki.
-
Is it possible that Scar Jo can milk a BW2 out of this if successful? Cause, why not. I mean I'm sure Disney is up for it.
-
would it be possible to have no humans? cause they SUCK.
-
Yep, my favorite Marvel show so far. I like it. Loki is far more entertaining than the others so far, couldn’t care less is wandavision or the other one gets cancelled. But not Loki

So, now we see what happens when you don't have soto in charge. Melda ain't gonna be able to save ya. So, 2205 is a movie, not a series?

You know given that the...
Spoilerthe new favorite these days is Ahsoka in the SW universe, I expect her to make an appearance some time in this series. After all, Rex had no connection to the Martez sisters, if this is not a screaming sign that Tano is coming back at some point, I don't know what it is.
I'm somewhat ambivalent about Crosshair, I almost think that of all of the squad, he is the one most likely to have the chip removed, and still be stuck in his old ways. Although getting him back on the squad would be useful.
I'm sure the next episode has Crosshair showing up.

Oh man, I thought we were stretching the bench thin with moonknight and the eternals, what’s next, Deathlok?
disney sure knows how to milk a property, all the way till people don’t give a crap.

Can they even expect die-hard Star Trek fans to keep watching?
From what I've heard, Paramount+'s subscriber counts are in the toilet right out of the gate and die-hard fans are still drifting away from the franchise because of Discovery and Picard.
All the way up until the point where those fans are dead. Seriously, how many millennials gives a crack about Star Trek, most of them would like at Kirk as some chauvinistic pig, and Picard as some old white dude who overstayed his welcome. Don't get me started on Sisko and Janeway, caricature of good minority and a total Karen based on today's view point. How many people would actually care. For the viewers that matter (not us mainly), Star Trek shows are like an attempt to resurrect the dead which needs to be put down.
ST:P is just another example of this. A nasty old man trying to keep up with the times and clinging on to whatever little dignity he has left trying to live 30 years in the past.

At this rate Scar Jo is going to be 50 by the time that movie comes out.

ha ha, Kong needs a bra.

I would take this version of Godzilla seriously if it flew backwards or did a drop kick, preferably both.

Here is the F-36 Kingsnake. The USAF went dumpster diving and found the F-16XL.
Yikes, it would be horrifying if a company actually came out with something like this, it would signal the end of ingenuity of a country.

you know, Godzilla's head is awfully small, is it a commentary on how tiny his brain is? If Kong's mouth is any bigger, he could chomp on Godzilla's snout.

I think the issue was Patty Jenkins had a heavy hand in the story and screenplay this time around. She should probably stick to directing this kind of story.
how dare you.... next thing you are going to tell us is that she belongs in the kitchen...
I guess the jury is really out on if she is any good, or a one shot wonder like Peter Jackson, or may be just a bad movie like the dude who directed TLJ... can’t remember his name. But I heard the movie after that was decent.
give her a chance to see what Rogue squadron is like.
-
Sequels are not typically better than the original. Think TLJ to TFA, or sequels to prequels to original.
It was essentially worst, bad, good.
-
bumblebee was the only decent Transformers movie cause Starscream looked like Starscream, not some kind of weird ape looking thing, Soundwave looked like Soundwave, not whatever transformers 3 was, and so on....
the original transformers must have been a Michael Bay wet dream when he said: “ oh really, the robots can look like whatever I want them to look like... great low budget CGI it is, different color CGI junk going across the screen where you can’t tell a head from an ass, perfect, low budget, explosions, and cheap no name Megan Fox... easiest movie ever.”

Just what nobody asked for. I'd sooner see Gil Gerard try to fly a walker than see them go through with this mess. :\
Amen, bring Gil and Erin back.
As for Clooney, he could remake ER, or from Dawn to Dusk. Let him ruin someone else's childhood. Clutz

B5 was one of the best sci-do series of it’s time and is one of the earlier pioneer of the story arc idea for episodic TV.
Mira Furlan was outstanding in her role, and that was one show that I would have liked to see continue to progress over time. Delenn’s story would have also been interesting over time, but sadly Hollywood was too into network produced crap to ever give JMS a proper platform to expand his story line.
Black Widow

Cause Elaine is still just Elaine, no matter how you dress her up, change her role, you still expect Jerry, Kramer, and George around the corner. Or Newman.
Lipsticks and pigs.
