I would have left it alone, it was a low traffic thread and it would have died once everyone who cared had put in their input. I do have to say with the exception of the Rainbow Brite thread there hasn't been a thread locking that I would have felt any different about. Discussing this topic from "it is or isn't Scifi/anime" doesn't really work*, we have martial arts threads, a gun thread, an engrish thread, and even a WWE thread. None of which have anything to do with Anime or Sci-fi. *I'll bring it up before anyone else does: the Schwarzenegger thread is a Sci-fi thread, he is the highest paid Sci-fi actor. About a week after "Super Spacefortress Macross" first aired in the US (yes it was really called "Super Spacefortress Macross" the main character was Rick Yamato... This is what HG started with and converted to Robotech) I had my first VF. It was the dark trey VF-1s Focker type, I still have it to this day and it is in great shape.

We can't make the creator, a mascot... Thats like naming your dog God, then praying to him. The froating head is the creator, he can't be the mascot, it needs to be an animal or simple robot or something. My suggestion: The Petie Cola machine or the trash collection robot seen in DYRL.

After Macross 7 you still think Kawamori would want to make a depressing series? ... I don't know about depressing, but to date DYRL was the most successfull thing he has done, and it was the darkest of all Macross works. It is also considered one of the great anime movies of Japanese animation history.

Only problem with that would be that Kawamori would try to wiggle in some music stuff in there and risk turning the whole thing fruity. For once, I wouldn't mind seeing a very serious Macross devoid of all the protoculture and music = power references. Me too!

This is so strange... I think I am alone in my appreciation for Van Damme. My roomate liked tin-tin as a kid and when I told him the Van Damme news I thought he would be pumped up. He said casting Van Damme as Tin-Tin would be like casting Dolph Lundgren as Charlie Brown.
