  1.

ITT: people who don't understand the realities of economics and engineering, and that businesses are not charitable organizations.

This... a hundred percent this. nmb4m, your post is full of nonsense. The monstrosity wasn't viable... end of discussion. The fact that they're trying to swing some sort of product for the ultra-dedicated is commendable and completely unprecedented (that I know of).

  2. Pete, your doom and gloom is killin' me :p That's not to say I don't necessarily agree with you... I think Transformers probably could use a year break from the mainstream toy shelves or something... the glut of stuff that comes out around the movies seems to just totally overstay the welcome that all the additional momentum garners.

  3. that's ridiculous... if it wasn't limited it wouldn't be that much. I don't get the point of making it and then limiting it to a smalll run.

It's kind of a slap in the face to the people that supported Yamato Macross toys for this long...

You produce a really small run when the profit margin sucks. It's typically a matter of necessity, not an attempt to screw the 'true fan'... Yamato likely went waaaaaaay over the top in the process of making this and realized it had outdone itself, and is not trying to recoup something.

  4. Hello Promethuems5!

    Excellent collection!

When you find the time, do you mind please taking a size comparison photo of Skylynx in 4-leg mode next to a 1/60 valkyrie? Thank you.

I was 10 years old when Skylynx came out but I'm from a poor fam...but now I see it at an affordable $65 USD tag. I'm thinking about getting it.

Hi Doodler, unfortunately I do not have Sky Lynx... I believe he is pretty large though, bigger than a 1/60 VF-1.

I have some newer shelf pics forthcoming, actually... my display right now is like 9/10 vinyl Kaiju, a couple new JP G1 transformers, an a couple big new toys that came today!

  5. Good crap dude... so much wrong with your post.

First off, 'Japs'? Really? On a website for Japanese toy fandom, complete with Japanese members? Really?

Secondly, the waist issue is intermittent, and the fact that Yamato released a detailed guide on how to fix it shows a huge amount of customer service and initiative unlike anything we've seen in the Valkyrie lines. When I finally get one, I'll have real qualms about having to do this surgery, as the instructions are pretty much fool-proof. I can understand the argument that it maybe shouldn't need it, but the one thing we've consistently seen from m,any toy makers in the past 5 years is that manufacturing standards are not what they used to be, and it's just become a fact of life for many companies, so whining about it isn't going to get us anywhere.

  6. I gave up caring about new fiction for TFs a looong time ago, and have become content to enjoy the existing fiction and appreciate the toys, for the most part, solely on their merits as toys, something which the bulk of them excel at, and that alone gives me enough enjoyment to keep up the TF-dom. I'd say give it some time, and figure out why exactly you love(d) the toys and collecting so. :)

  7. IDW's art has its moments, but their writing and editing are absolutely god awful. I finally got myself to the point where I refuse to buy another IDW book ever. All Hail Megatron was the absolute worst dreck I have ever stupidly bought. I'll gladly take Dreamwave's WarWithin stuff, even tho Pat Lee was a crook any day over the crap IDW's put out.

  8. I'll tell you in ~10 minutes, depending if I win B)) I don't know about like a plastic traditional kit...

    EDIT: YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won this:

And am soooooo stoked! I don't know which WonderFest it is from, and I've never seen one before, but this kit looks amazing! I need a basic Microman figure for the pretender fig bits tho. I think garage kits like this that update older figures are neat, but to be fair, this kind of figure could easily be superseded by an updated toy release, but we'll never see it.
