Anyone know what display stand is shown on this picture? I want to pose my vf-1s like this. Looks pretty slick.
-
I just took some comparison shots as well. Not too bad actually.
-
Dang, I haven't compare my vf-1j with my dyrl ones yet. The movie version doesn't even look white, more gray.
-
So I'm sitting here staring at my two fockers; the vf-1s dyrl and the vf-1s tv version that arrived today and I gotta say I'm not a fan of the super white plastic of the tv version. It seems "unnatural" for lack of a better word. My vf-1s Hikaru with option parts comes tomorrow and hope it isn't white like this.
Can you post a picture of both side by side? I am curious how off is it.

+1 Me too! Having a -1S and -1A makes you crave for a -1J...
That was what happened to me...

Thanks for the info.

I read through the whole thread and still don't know what is this display stand called and where I can order this. LOL
-
Awesome. Thanks buddy. Think I will order 2 sets since the shipping price is the same no matter how any sets you order. If anyone in the south bay area wants to order this and with reduce shipping cost, let me know. I am ordering this later in the week.plastik, on 27 Mar 2013 - 11:54, said:

I was hoping I don't have to go back to this thread, but unfortunately I received a vf-1j with crack hinge. Where do i order the white hinges and how hard is it to take the pin out from the existing hinges? I am not very handy hope I don't break anything.

Depends on what your goal is... if you like to handle and pose your toys like I do, I wouldn't recommend it compared to a 1/60 V2. If you're more of a "curator" type who sticks them in a display and is done with it, the 1/48's display really well. I picked up the 1/48 Stealth VF-1J because I love the color scheme, but the overall unwieldiness of the toy with the super/strike parts on it just blows. But, like I said, boils down to what folks like to do with their stuff.
If you don't like it and thinking selling it. let me know.

I own one 1/48 valk, and while it's cool and all, it is just way too frustrating to handle. Got to the point where I ended up using quake putty to actually firm it up enough so that stuff wasn't always flying off or flopping around whenever I picked it up. Was that typical of 1/48's in general? Or did some valks fare better than others in that scale?
Oh, and fk missiles on the 1/48's too. So so frustrating. lol...
I was going to get one 1/48, but after this I am having second thoughts.

This thread is awesome. It gives me ideas on how to pose or display my valks.

I needed a VF-1J head too and I ended up buying a whole unassembled kit from HKC to get one
That became expensive. haha

Why no one like kakizaki? haha

I'm only 1.5 hours from Vacaville.
Macross yard sale? I'd show up.
This thread is the macross yard sale! lol
-
You moving out of vacaville? To where?
-
Ok, this is a long shot, but worth a try. This is the version 2 vf-1j Hikaru white head.
Thanks!

I am going to post on the wanted forum for vf-1j head. I want a spare part.
-
It was opened boxed so it is used.
-
1J looks clean man. I may have to give up my search for the 30th Anniversary and settle for that model. I think I can live without the option parts
I bought the optional parts separately. BTW, they are hiking up the price on the vf-1j right now. It was selling on ebay for 138$ shipped and now its listed at 179$ shipped. I wonder is it because it is getting sold out everywhere.
-
Where did you buy it from? Looks like it has the rainbow canopy? I got mine from a seller on Ebay, and it has the newer clear canopy. If I didn't just buy a used one with the rainbow canopy off Ebay, I would have traded you with your cracked hinge and all.
I got it off mandarake. It does have the rainbow canopy.

Finally picked up the vf-1j. Overall, it is in decent shape but noticed it has a crack shoulder hinge. I guess I need to look for that thread on how to fix the shoulder hinge. Taking the back landing gears out were a major pain. Sorry for the crappy pictures with droid phone.

Why do you need to lock them?
To keep little kids out and inform people not to touch without saying it.
Its Official!

I already scratched some white paint off the landing gear. Anyone use white out for touch up?
