  1. I know there's some Muv-Luv fans around here that might appreciate these. It's a pair of great build ups of Kotobukiya's Tactical Surface Fighter kits painted and decaled like their real like counter parts.

    F-18 Super Hornet VFA-31 Tomcatters.

The series has an alternate universe angle where an alien invasion forced airplane makers to build giant robots so these take the place of the real fighter jets.

    It's coooooooooooool~

  2. just so you guys don't get confused down the line, here are all the alternate YF-30 colors from the game in addition to the normal red striped one in one image

They didn't get too ambitious and these are all basically palette swaps.

and here is Ms. Purple Power. Sure is dark gray and purple.

  3. I'm loving this scheme more and more. Did you take these pics yourself Veef? I'd like to see more screen shots of the other two liveries from various angles in the three different modes if possible.

There's only five in the game with the first three just being the all white scheme like the toy with red, blue, or green stripes.

the last two are these which are just palette swaps. It'd be better to just photoshop the toy pics than deal with the game's lighting.

The game shows a little mounting bracket that keeps the gun in place while the missile pod is flipped up in fighter mode. I can't tell if the toy has that.

Also here's the optional red and black scheme.

  5. Huh. So the 30 is the amalgamation of a lot of Froating Head's passions. Thanks for that. Perhaps he could make a book of ALL his mecha designs with some explanation of his thought process while designing them. That'd be very interesting... provided a good English translation was available.

This book actually covers a fairly wide sampling of his work but if you wanted an in depth look it's easier to track down some individual Armored Core art books and just look at the pre-production and finalized designs.

I have one that covers the PS1 games where one of the flying power suit enemies is unmistakably the origins of the Reactive Armor VF-0.

He's really moving on making resin kits of second and third tier Valkyries. The VF-5000B is a slight remold of the Dynamite 7 ones he already made and the VF-9 I believe is the first transforming kit of this design.

Someone made a scratchbuilt transforming VF-9 before but that was a one of a kind.

He's basically done every playable Valkyrie from Macross M3! Just gotta do the Variable Glaug now.

  7. Falconkpd and I just did a podcast about old console flight sims and we got on the subject of the indomitable Agile Warrior F-111X so I had to take some video of it to share. You may remember this game because it is an amazing experience.

    Starring Tucker Smallwood.
