  1. It does look like a nice kit. And as far as the price...It's a VF-11, that's all I care about.

PS does anyone want to buy a pair of n!@s, my wife'll probably cut mine off when this one arrives. She just doesn't understand...Its a VF-11.

  2. It's the VF-11C. I guess it's a little steep, but oh well. For some reason, i want all my valks to be in the same scale. i would have prefered 1/48, but with the Hase offerings 1/72 won by default.

  3. Awesome article EXO. I've actually been using Simple Green with great results. It takes a little longer, but I've left stuff in the tank for weeks at a time with no effect on the plastic. I just use an ice cream pail and drop the pieces in, seal the lid and check it daily, scrubbing with a soft toothbrush. It doesn't attack the glue, but removes any fillers as well. It doesn't require gloves either. I've used it on clear parts as well with no problem.

  4. Sweet! I have been wanting a couple of these forever (Diorama idea). Thanks MJ and GH, this is awesome news. Can't wait for the list to come out.

PS how big are the feet that grab the fastpacks? And is white metal magnetic? I like WM's idea, but am trying to come up with the best way of doing it. Would it be possible to drill them out and insert a metal strip, or are they too small?

  5. Very nice build.

Is the canopy frame painted on or is it decals? I used decals, because the fit wasn't so good on mine (the second attempt was at least usable). The canopy itself was good, but I screwed up cutting it. I would recommend putting the cannon on, a Valkyrie just looks incomplete without a gun pod or weapons rack. I used 2 racks of 4 bombs, plus underwing and wingtip missiles.

  6. Whoa... you guys are making this place sound like its in the middle of nowhere...

Cant be that bad... can it?

Nope, neither place is that bad, but it's the wannabe cowboys who buy new boots to wear for two weeks with their new wranglers etc. Calgary is super nice, one of the top 3 cities in Canada (IMHO), but I prefer small town living. My kid's can walk down the street, and I know that the nieghbor's are actually watching them out of concern not anything else. Ponoka is actually about 2 hrs north of Calgary and we have our own "rodeo", and for a couple of weeks every summer, you're a wierdo if you don't wear a cowboy hat, or so some people think.

  7. I use brad nails from my air nailer (various sizes). Cheap, easy to cut or shape, yet plenty strong. If the part is too thin, I've used staples, but generally the smaller parts don't need pins. Take your time and ensure the pins are lined up first, since it's a royal pain to take something apart and repin it. I usually dummy the piece up first, then mark it with a pencil. From there it's just a matter of drilling and installing. Install the pins on the bigger side first, let them dry in place, then slide the other piece (usually a wing) onto the pins.

    Hope this helps.
