  1. But I still see something positive out of this misery. If Uwe Boll keeps on filming so much than the list off Movies at Boll KG will be worked off in 2 years. Let's see. If he's done with SEED there's still Dungeon Siege,Far Cry, Postal,Fear Effect :D (At least not directed by Boll) left too spoil. I think the only game based movie he won't rape is Postal. This Story is Boll-proof. And the cast is also been set. I heard David Hasselhof and Chuck Norris have guest roles. That#s scary enough.

  2. "Boll's next picture is "In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale."

Like "BloodRayne," it's also based on a video game. It features Loken again as well as Jason Statham, John Rhys-Davies, Ray Liotta, Matthew Lillard, Leelee Sobieski, Claire Forlani and Burt Reynolds."

Seriously, Ray Liotta?! Most of those actors are talented and are no dummies, so why sign up for dreck? Must be good paying dreck...

Well the same reason why Christian Slater signed up for Alone in the dark. " Iff you nicht sign up . Wii will have to call for ze bayrisch Biersausage Mafia too cut off yor Johnson, Lebowski! Har har har(Boll style)"

  3. funny how I know of their existence since I was just a wee lad

but apart from the toys never really 'got into it'

Bart Smith used to sell alot of these during the mid 80's. But they were quite expensive. Someone told me that some stores still sell Zoids in Nederland. But I never found any. Or maybe Amsterdam is the wrong place to look for such things.

I bought some injection kits like Liger Zero, Command Wolf, Gojulaz Giga for Kit bashing Panzertier style. But ended up with building them as dust collector for my unfinished projects showcase. One day I grab one of them and pump it up with ball joints.

  4. I must say that the ending wasn't bad at all. By the time the first episode was released I wasn't sure about this series. Actually I disliked how they slaughter the past Gunbuster story.Watching the first few episodes would be like being raped by the whole FLCL crew. The ending sure has a great showdown. I enjoyed every single moment (Yeah, hate me!)of this Anime. At least the ending wasn't as lame as that of Macross Zero.

  5. He probably paid the guy to lose or something. As if that proves anything. He still makes horrid movies. As i speak this DOA is being released here in Malaysia. >_<

Dead or Alive is not from Uwe Boll. Allthough I hate Uwe Bolls Masterpieces. Not all worse movies these days are from him. Corey Yeun did DOA. I expected more from him. He co-directed "The Transporter".Directed several great Jet Li Hong Kong movies like "The letter to my father" Fong Sai Yuk 1+2. On the other hand he also did So Close, The Avenging Fist and Karate Tiger, which were so close to worse.

I haven't seen DOA yet. The trailer gave me the creeps. Enough for 1/2 year of nightmares and wet bedsheets. :D:);):(

  6. Liked the original PPG, but this has gotta go. Downloaded the first two episodes, but I could not even make it through the first 15 minutes of the first one.

Woah! You managed to watch 5 more minutes than I did. PPGZ suck awfully bad cause they have fingers, better animation and fingers. They don't need fun and crazy trashmovies like story or Townsville.

    PPG rules!

  7. Nice interpretation, TSP.

Gawsh i just finished it yesterday and i was filled with WTFs all through it. Its probably cause the fansubs are bad. Didn't understand nuts.

But the final sequence with all the planes in a big ass air battle was awesome.

It was pur coincidence that I figured out the simularity between Yukikaze and Solaris. I red the book few moths after I've seen the bad german dubbed/subtitle copy. In the first time I also was confused not only by the fact that the 3rd DVD(Episode4&5) didn't include a "FAF Flight Manual" After Solaris I watched the whole series again. And then my brain made a stange sound like a "click! Turn on the lights baby! Cause now you know what it's all about."

There also was a hint to Lem's works in one of the interviews with Shohei Kanbayashi. Just can't remmember which one it was. :p

  8. I grab myself a Wii. Sony stil earns money with Wii virtual console MSX. Sony tried everything to demoralize me to preorder a PS3 . The score really big after the anouncement of the HD resolution/unstable FPS trouble in almost every game eccept Gran Tourismo HD  The presentations at Games Convention 2006 can only be descibed as bad joke. The price doesn't suit the rationalized components mass production model. The plastics used for outer shell/cover looks very cheap and fragile. Start line up titels aren't very interesting. The Console has a magic gate licence enabled Card reader port. But you need to spend an other 30Euros for a device if you want to use your PS2 memory card. The Pads don"t have the rumble feature because they stil haven't paid for the patent.. I'm very dissapointed in Sonys new R&D, marketing. If they don't change their policy they will play on the third place.

  9. The Hasegawa kits are awsome. A project last yeary was and f4u corsair. It was a really nice kit. I'd stay away from Revell. I tried and f-14 and an f-18. I ended up trashing both of those kits.

The old 1/144-1/32 Revell kits are just gaps filler or a nice waste of time.

Revells new Black F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18C Hornet are the best detailed kits in 1/144 scale. I'm still impressed of their E-2 Hawkeye,Raffale M and the new ECR Tornado in 1/144. Highly detailed. The only thing missing are photo-etched parts :D

If you want a cheap 1/48 F-15, get either the Revell F-15E, or the Monogram kit. Yes, Monogram. Their F-15 is well known as still being the best-shaped F-15 out there, and better fit and detail than most any other Monogram kit. And the Revell F-15E is their best kit ever, and possibly the best F-15 out there period.

The Academy one is decent, but nothing remarkable AFAIK.

I got myself an Academy F-15. It was a great kit back in the early 90's. Now it's a perfect target for the Su-27UB Flanker.

Does the Verlinden detailsets fit on Revells F-15E?

  10. I still miss some important things. Avoid the small scale (1/144-1/100) Minicraft,Acadamy,Hobbycraft kits.Sorry but on this sector Acadamy sure sucks  .

Don"t buy anything from MHM models! Kangam low in price, quallity, designs and tooling.

Hasegawa and Revell Germany have a colaboration. Some of the Revell kits are Hasegawa re-releases for even a lower price. Same goes for some new Hasegawa kits which actually are Revell mouldings. The same goes to Zvesda/Italeri/Revell

Also recommendable are brands like: Eduard ,Sweet, Platz/Bego

If you like carmodels than: Aoshima, Fujimi,

For all those who live in Europe Aviation Megastore This is the place where I like to die.

  11. at the moment the only Anime i've been watching acuratelly are Zegapain and Gunbuster 2 . I know this is poor. But sigh ....work,work,work

These are also worth to be watched.

Gunbuster Aim for the top! (old one): This is the "Anime"-tion.My brother shed tears while watching the last episode

FLCL : This is how my brains would look like if i would make a film about it! pretty scary

Pale Cocoon : I like the story.

The voices from a distand star : I like the story and the music . Some Gunbuster influence

M.S.Gundam 0080 War in the pocket : My alltime favorite Haruhiko Mikimoto made the character designs . I love this story

Super Dimensional Century Orguss : Oldie but goldie. Guess what..-I like the story

The Five Star Stories: I like the animations, the Mortar Headds, the whole FSS Universe although it's nothing compared to productions nowadays. Great fairytale for big children.

Azumanga Daioh : Gotta' love that bunch of airheads. Why couldn't they've made more episodes. Something like >200.

Aaaand I like the sto... Chiyopapa,Osaka,Haruka sensei, neighbour neko neko :D

  12. I will say this, though...  The level of moulded surface detail on some of the higher end fiberglass models is very high, similar to some of the resin models I've seen here.  (Very scale, rivet-counting, etc.)  Also, the 30-70 cm span ships are made of balsa or foam because of weight, not because of prohibitive cost. (Actually, there are no 30 cm. span scale ship kits, at least not RC.)

I don't know what kind of details GRS Model planes have in other countries or what a pro rc model builder(that's you o great rc-god) would buy as a acceptable detailgrade. I was just refering to the small mass produced jet models I've seen on RC jet meetings(in Germany) and my experience in laminating prototype testbed chairs for Keiper-Recaro. They really have strange and complex designs! The highly detailed model jets were mostly selfmade on these meetings. Besides I don't care much about this kind of hobby modeling. A friend always tries to convince me with radio controlled jets and this kind of stuff. He used to ask me every time I call him , if I would like to build a plane from scratch for him. Man, yes I'm Jesus I can turn wine into water...on weekends.

And about the weight thing : Yes I know balsa and EPS don't weight much . But I was thinking about the cost by mass production. A foamed model only needs 1 mould

You can cast a modell with complex structures in only 15~20 minutes(expanded PU). As EPS even faster just like injection model kits. For Balsa wood models they use a spencil. So this one is also a fast and cheap way to produce "light in weight" ship models. ;)

  13. The resin used to laminate fiber glas mat needs longer to harden . You can't used rapid casting resin for . so it would take a whole day to make 1 copy. The other thing is the mould. You have to make a mould without behind cutting objects nor forms. Thats 2 moulds for the main fuselage, 2 for the wings ,2 for the air intake section. The other thing is the moulds should have as less details as possible otherwise you won't get the resinparts seperated from the mould. thats why the big RC planes have no details on the surfaces. It's also great for the aerodynamic characteristics of a RC jet /plane.At least the details won't be very satisfying for a display model. Fine thin wrickle-friendly fiberglas mats cost mucho mucho money, but not as much as carbon :p . 1 layer won't be enough so you need 2 layers to garanty stability not to get the parts cracked while releasing it from the forms. Depending on the problems listed above the price for such a kit would be higher than a resin GK.For example just look what you get if you order a 1/6 RC jet shell. And it's only the hull for the price of few Tanmen Cat's Eyes.

That's why most model planes between 30~70 cm are made of Balsa wood or expanded plasics. I would refer to a small scale kit . At least 1/144 or smaller. It would be the best option.

How many people here have experience in building GRP models? I guess not many. Well it's no fun if you don't have a workshop and the right machines or tools. Glas fiber and powder is no fun as well.:blink::lol: !!!

Doh! I almost forgot that were on Macrossworld. Huge,>1/72,big,bigger or as big as fat Albert should be the standard minimum attitude. Sorry, not today.
