ok call me blind but other then the tires what were the mods you did exactly ?
As you mentioned. Plus a detailed engine bayand interior stuff. My steering wheel has the momo badge on it. I have a gauge decal so the gauges look more real. And I added a rear view mirror. Small time stuff.

Thats awesome!!!! I love it. Does it open up at all?

Well if you want to stop at yamato go right ahead. I would like to modify the ful clear set so it shows something. Modification thats what I have in mind.

Yeah I know it need something but not sure what. I couldnt find the right texture. I'll find one eventually. Im thinking of jsut painting the upper grill on the hood flat black.

Teh wheels came from a 1:24 scale Diecast WRX GDB (the round head light version) thats where I got teh Momo Steering wheel, Gauges and wheels.

Perhaps Rohby could make two sets. One full Armor set and then an expansion pack for those who did dish out for the original Yamato set.

This incarnation of Smokescreen is one of the best looking Transformers I've ever seen... both the car and robot modes look great. I just might have to get one...

I think it might be a swap with a Roy focker heat shield or it might be a Head and heat shield swap of a Roy onto a VF-1A Hikaru

Im having Rohby recast the 1/48 fast pack armor clear, past what Yamato is doing.
Yamato only offers the following
2x Nosecones
2x Leg covers
2x Booster hatches
Im going beyond that by taking apart my fast packs and offering them as the master. Including what yamato has done he will make the arm armor clear, the strike canon, the lower half of the booster as well as the rear calf of the leg armors.
I realize there is nothing beneath these parts however I think it looks rather half assed with just what Yamato is making. The picture in the Dengeki hobby looks strange with half the booster clear and half normal. Perhaps if it was a straight split down the middle one whole side clear and one whole side normal then that would be interesting but its not.
So if interested please poll.
I do not have an estimate on the price. Of course because the pieces are rather large it will increase the price of the mold material. But I estimate a price tag of 30-40 dollars. However this is based on the complexity compared to a Joke machine which is only 50 bucks.
Also note that the metal contacts for the boosters will have to be removed from your own fast packs and swapped into the clear set as well as screws and so forth.
Please do not expect these to be crystal clear. After careful inspection it appears the yamato versions are jsut the same thing as the regular fast packs produced with clear plastic. Due to the rough finish Yamato gave the Fast packs it is apparent that it will be in the molds and distort the ability of the clear plastic to be completely trasnparent.
So will be the same for Rohby's recast. As we know from his wonderful recasts the detail will be there down to the smallest imperfection of the original which will include the dull finish

Not sure if this has been posted before. But www.toysnjoys.com in Hawaii is sellign for 19.95

LOL, if they could get a Snell rating, that'd make one sweet a$$ karting/racing helmet.
I'd wear one on a motorcycle if it was in the $400-500 range. Probably not the shoulder pads/armor though.
I only mentioned that to see if the cost is justified. A nice helmet from Arai costs around 500-600 for their low end models. The top of line versions with air inlets, in helmet mike attachements and etc... cost over $1200 USD so the cost of these helmets would be worth it for limited production item. A snell rating would be cool to have though.
Since its for display and cosplay only, the price is too high personally. However, think how much those old stormtrooper helmets and armor cost way back in the days when they were garage kits. For a professionally made item, it is about inline with pricing.
As I had said before its mass production versus special orders. Arai make thousands of helmets a year. So mass production is easier. Your initial investement and materials cost is spread thru the amount of helmets you make. Here they probably wont even make more than 100 helmets (yamato I mean)
ok one more mod to Smokescreen
in Anime or Science Fiction
