Cool - thanks for the shot!
Ha ha - I am now groaning inwardly at the thought of having to find that box version now to complete my collection of 1/55 Takatokus! ; )
I would seriously not bother. One of my GBP giftsets is perfect. I would say c8/9 condition. parts, decals, instructions, inserts all complete. the box tray is such a minor thing that could be made by yourself.
-
Actually I created a thread a while back after I recieved my third GBP gift set.
They are all complete parts wise now.
There is a cardboard tray that the styrafoam goes into.
-
Check this hideous looking thing
and the guy wants $275!!!!! ha MY helmet looks better than this POS!!!
-
please refer to Takatoku-toys 1/40 MBG-24 A/C " Nikick"... A-type:Standard C-type :Commander or special force
I anticipate YAMATO release 1/48 or 1/32 big transformable(Variable) toy in the future!
wow nice I am jealous. I only have a MIB Nikick that my gf mom was gonna throw away.

Hey sscud, ever think of doing long sleeve..that might be cool..so we can wear them all year long..
I do. I did. I made last years long sleeve for myself haha
here is a test I did of the mecha collage. This was done with a heat transfer and a vinyl plotter.

Well, this is an old pic i just found of my filmstrip, i will take a better one later, but it's like the holy grail
and i every now an then take it out (my gold book) and sigh and take in it's perfectiveness. :P
I am quite happy with my find, Hikky is afterall the main attraction of all of Macross DYRL & SDF.
Solscud007 that is a fantastic Filmstrip you have there mate.
All of the filmstrips that have been posted here are fricken great!
actually that isnt a real filmstrip. it is one I made in photoshop. I believe it is very likely I can make decent replicas of the goldbook filmstrip. that was a test. now I need to see how well it turns out in physical form.
-
who made this?
does anyone have a higher res version of this? I need it for the DVD DYRL special.
-
There's free programs out on the web that can create these. Search for Andrea Mosaic.
-Kevin
Kevin I think you missed the point that my gf wrote the program from scratch herself, to make this.
-
Here is mine haha.
-
right now im just figuring out costs. Im trying to see if by providing my own tshirts (which are cheaper than the printing place charges) see how much they will charge for just the printing.

Are all the images in the Mosaic macross ones?
That is always cool when mosaics are done like that!
BTW, if you are taking pre-orders for the poster I'd be interested...
yes they are. I captured the entire DYRL movie onto my cmputer and cut the movie into frames. basically like screeenshots but more sophistcated. I had Adobe premiere make frames ever second.
-
My GF finished it. Here is the 200 images horizontal version
-
Ok well my girlfriend is going to take a computational photography class this fall. Her friend already took it. and mentioned that you learn how to make photomosaics. Anyway she started early on a mosaic project that her friend had mentioned and of course my brain started working on how could i make this work for Macross.
Oh also its not a program she found or got from her friend. she wrote the program code for code herself.
I captured my R2 DYRL dvd to my computer and exported 1 frame per second at 320x240 giffs. it came out to about 6800 images. I originally did it at 30 fps but it was ridiculous. it ended up being 75 gb worth of gifs at 720x480.
anyway here is her first attempt. she will re-do it with the images cropped (you can see the black border of the images) and this time have the program put in 200 images across. Right now it is using 100 images horizontally.
here is the image reduced
here is a close up.
of course I have the higher res version and it will be a poster.

For those who dont know what the content of the TV special is. here is a summary.
Interviews with the voice actors of Minmei, Misa, and Hikaru
Interview with shoji Kawamori
shots of various macross merchandise
guided tour of Tatsunoko Productions while they are working on DYRL.

oh the subtitles are DONE!!! I just need to author a master DVD and we are set. I am waiting on Shawn to send me the bonus stuff.
The Bonus stuff will be available for purchase. there will be a MWcon exclusive pricing.
the "free" edited version will be free upon a small donation which all goes to pay and support the costs of MW.
-
Nice! Where do I sign up?
*EDIT*
So it's not going to include the other stuff Shawn mentioned?
If you need dvd covers and such, I'd be willing to help out.
thanks for the offer. Do you mean the plastic? yeah I will need some cases. but actuall DVD cover design, then Im set.

Yo, Solscud. How minty is it? All stickers unappied? No yellowing? Box in great shape?
well I have two boxed Super O. the minty white one has like 1% yellowing but its hard to tell.
see on the left leg and the back of the white super o?
which is weird as the most common spot for yellowing is the window of the box.
the box is in in c8 and c7 condition. the yellow one has a scratch on the front and the previous owner colored it in with a marker. the white one has a rip on the back
Yes stickers are unapplied. Missles all still on sprue.
the white super o has a little black touch up marker on it from previous owner. the chest plate vents and the nosecone, right below the cockpit there is a black step-pyramid and a black line that goes around the nosecone.
-
sorry I wil never sell my super o. but full trade for a 1/55 elintseeker.
-
Thanks Sol!!
Good idea.
Any good commercials (anime related)?
Most old commercials are pryty good anyway.
Some weird stuff about tampons, McD's Chicken Nuggetsm various snack foods and a cool toy commercial for BioDragon and BioRobo.

I just want to bring to people's attention that the elusive Macross DYRL TV special will be subbed and available for MWCon07. Free to attendees. This TV special was made known at MWCon 05 when Seiichi gave a copy to Shawn. I got a copy since then this has been a project that has been put on hold for the past 3 years. Due to no one knowing how to synch up subtitles and Shawn being really really hard to get a hold of. well Im happy to say I got the subs and working on it right now as I type this.
To sum up the version for MWCon07 will be edited down to be the pure tc show. a full version with all the japanese commericals will be for sale on MW after the con. Proceeds go straight to supporting this website and help alleviate the costs of hosting MW off of Shawn's pocketbook.
-
I would like to report that the subtitling process of this TV special is in progress. I have finally recieved the text document containing the subtitles from Shawn. I have captured the TV special onto my computer and in the process of editing the special and then later synching the subs. This WILL be ready for MWCon07 and will be free to those who attend.
The version at MWCon07 will be edited to be purely the tvshow. A full version will be made available for those wanting to see the funny commercials that interuppt the tv show. As per Shawn's request, this full version will be on sale to anyone on MW. (well I made the decision to edit out the superflous stuff for MWCon07, and thereby making the "Director's cut/un-edited version for sale) This sales of the full version will be soley non-profit and go toward the costs of running the servers of MW.

I have two options.
I have a Minty white 1/55 Super Ostrich in Box to trade OR
I have an all yellow (but it is a constant color) 1/55 Super Ostrich w/ box and will throw in a complete 1/55 VF-1S GBP gift set (the box is really beat up but all the parts are there (no decals or instructions))
-
Hey, I'm interested in finding a HCM VF-1A browni, and a 1/55 Super O. Complete and bone white is desired, though I can tolarate some flaws.
Do you got a 1/55 elint seeker? I'll trade for a 1/55 Elint seeker in box
-
if this is the red version of the VF-19 (Kai version), isn't there a toy made by Bandai for this particular model? and a few bunches of China bootlegs...
yes and no. the ova version is a little different

I have the highest rez image. but it depends what you are doing with it and what type of image you need. I had the Perfect Memory poster, the same one in Exo's thread, scanned at kinkos. at 300 dpi. they screwed up as I wanted 600 dpi. anyway I dont know if that is what you want. you gotta tell us what you are doing first.
