  1. F##############CK. The one night I drift off laying my daughter down and it had to be last night. I'm not desperate enough for the mykombini markup though.

  2. I do however need a pre-order for Hikaru's VF-1J, and Max's 1J.

It sure does suck being a valk-a-holic.

    -b.

Wait: Did Max's -1J already go up for pre-order?

  3. No, just the prototype shown before the actual release was glossy. Graham sold one of the prototypes here in the forums.

    The 1/60 YF-21 has a matte finish.

Hmmmm, I don't have one anymore, but are you sure about that? I specifically remember gloss.

  4. I'm afraid to try to remove the guns at the rear on the regult and haven't heard of anyone doing it yet. I like the regult enough that if they do release the variants I would buy them all even the recolor for the movie.

They pop right off and back on, no big woop. The Glaug's gun pops off and on too. I had a brief hope that they'd be interchangeable, but the anchoring mechanism for the Glaug cannon is much more substantial, (as it ought to be).

  5. I just got my Glaug. LOVE it! I see what some say about the red canopy but I like it just fine. Coincidentally, I grabbed a Battletech figure from that cheesy line Tyco did a few years back and the action figure looks like it would be a perfect fit. I don't like Battletech enough to risk breaking anything trying to put it in, but if anyone wants to try it woth theirs, I'll send them a fig for free (well, free+shipping) but you have to agree to post a picture of it here. First one to PM me with their mailing address wins!

  6. Fair enough. If it is available anywhere else, look into it. Mykombini might not have the best shipping prices.

I'll see your fair enough and raise you an amen. I hope I'm wrong and that the short announcement to sell-out timeline for this one doesn't indicate lack of availability come release date, but I'm all about the SDFM so I'd (er uhm, my display would) feel naked without this one.

  7. A $10 markup with any other markup still adds up.

The point of the post was to help others like myself who'd blinked and missed out on it, and don't want to pay the steeper markup post release date. -constructive

"ouch that markup!" -not so much

  8. Ouch that price.

Dudes, it's like $10 more U.S... You really think that's the worst markup for this that you're going to see?

  9. I think it's more of a safety net release to pad the numbers. HMR took some risks on the monster, glaug and regult so i figure they'll throw in a safety here or there

To that end, I think it will be a few releases yet before Bandai release a different VF model -until they have enough equity in the HM-R line to justify the risks that come with releasing new transforming models.

  10. Hello All,

I have a question for the forum. I just heard that Bandai is going to re-release the Hi-metal R valkryies that were released over the past few months (e.g. vf-1a and vf-1s) with the integrated landing gear and a fuselage with a removable pilot. Has anyone else heard this as well? This would really suck as I have a small fortune invested in these models. I imagine others would be pissed as well as these upgrades were requested when the hi-metal line was originally released in 2010.

Where did you hear this? Personally, I'd love an HM-R-R. Make the gun no longer require disassembly before mounting to the Fighter mode... the less greebles the better!!!

  11. It's not like there's a long history of renewals in the Frontier/Delta era. There's one (the -25), and one "tweak".(the -27)

...and then there's an ENTIRE line called High Metal RENEWAL. I was glad I skipped the originals, simply branded as High Metals, and am happy with the HMR's and their current design philsophy/standards, but it's another example of Bandai just not getting it quite right the first time. That can make a fella a little skittish about jumping onto a new line with both feet as it were.

  12. Depending on which scene or even which box art, most Macross stuff is inconsistent. Sometimes the glaug has a red eye sometimes it's yellow. Sometimes Hikaru's 1j has white goggles sometimes it's grey. Sometimes the regult has grey lower body and other times it's white. I'm not even sure if these are the final colors on the m and m Valkyries, but either way no one will be completely satisfied.

As far as what's shown I don't mind them, and I will probably not have the will power to turn them down.

Yep, sometimes an Orgroid with a -1A head will even show up to lend a hand. Me, I'm mixing the SDFM and DYRL? timelines together however I want and enjoying myself thoroughly. They're releasing DYRL? Valks the same time as SDFM baddies, so we really don't have much of a choice anyway, for now.

  13. It's hard to tell from those pictures -is the "Vanishing Trooper" also 1/72 scale?

Here's to hoping that they try to tackle the Zeta ...I find it odd that we still have yet to see a decent transforming TOY of such a titular Gundam. The closest thing I've seen to that is the Metal Composite Zeta Plus. Huh.

  14. The news that Evolution is going to take a stab a Mospeada makes me cautiously hopeful... maybe if they commission the T-Rex team they can make some solid transforming toys for this license.

I hope this resurgance prompts Megahouse to revisit Mospeada... a Spec version of the Legioss would be a no-brainer purchase.
