Yeah watched the series with my wife and she's a fan now. Got her own valks and everything. Though the downside is that I just got some Ichiban Kuji frontier figures (pics soon) and as soon as I opened them she shot-gunned the Grace Vf-27... should have got a pre-nup...

Yep! we did the same. After the honeymoon in Japan, we came back with far too many macross toys. They have been boxed and waiting till me move into our new house which is almost built. Then when we have money to buy some cabinets so we can put it all up! So basically I'll have display pics in maybe 10 years...

Hahaha! Always nice when your partner has the same passions- just not when their collection is better than yours! That's when "yours" and "mine" become "ours."

I could never get into Patlabor...

I think I found out about Dirty Pair through an issue of Animerica, or maybe it was Protoculture Addicts. Anywho, I never got my hands on a fansub or bootleg. I collected the comics by Adam Warren but those are long gone...

I still have my VHS copies of Orguss 2 but I vaguely remember even watching them.

I even had the first volume of Zillion! I saved up 30 bucks to buy it at my local comic shop. That was my first legit anime purchase and I had to tell my mom I'd borrowed it from a friend so she wouldn't be pissed that I spent all that money on a "cartoon" video.

Yesterday I watched Captain Earth up to episode 6, nothing particularly great although for a series about space robot fighting it sure is lacking. It does have a super adorable mascot thought.

That's about how far I lasted with Captain Earth. I don't think it's necessarily bad though; just not my thing. Plus, the brother-sister-semi-incestuous-duo was getting on my nerves.

Most definitely! Most of our major purchases are being put off in lieu of moving to a larger house. Once that happens, it is so on!

now she knows the anguish involved in buying valks. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL.

Definitely a keeper in my book. My wife just looks at my stuff and asks "You really like those jets, no? cuz you have a whole bunch of them."

Yeah she didn't really get it until she watched the anime and then saw the toys. My friends and I are bad influences... But my friends are knowledgeable so she goes to them first for opinions when she's thinking of getting something. She's a big fan of the singing idols- here gateway drugs were the Nendoroids.

I'm more of an art and art book guy.

My wife jumped into the world of Macross toy collecting with both feet at Macross World Con 2014. I'm so proud of her!!!

We are now eyeing Ikea display cases.

The convention was another big hit this year! Major thanks to everyone, cast and crew that made it happen! Tenjin also came up to me and my friend as we were setting up my Frontier Display (Thanks again Gina!) and said "So much Frontier!" I was so surprised to get a compliment (if it was one...LOL) from him that I just gave him a big grin. (I panicked!)

This was my second time Attending MW con, and its quickly shaping up to be one of the yearly events I'll always make time for.

It was awesome to finally see you IRL! And thank you for letting me woosh Luca's Valk- easily one of the highlights of the day!

Thanks! I'm not trying to redesign them but I'm trying to keep them in the spirit of the style and characters of the show.

Misa Hayase done the Sunday after and still recovering from Macross World Con 2014.

My view: give him 7 before it's too late. Unless it's already too late. As in, he may already be too old.

Macross 7 is made for boys. My 9 year old son loved every moment of it. He did not notice the cheesiness and the stock footage at all.

I'll give 7 a shot for him. My whole family is anticipating the next TV series!
