  1. I mentioned this in the official thread but will say it again, this time with pics. Remember how good the VF-1J looked in this pic? We all wondered if Toynami somehow turned the ugly duckling early prototypes into a swan. We all know how that turned out. I find it interesting that the YF-1R pic looks almost identical to that VF-1J pic. Everything looks clean and sharp and the gunpod is held over the chest to help hide the long canopy.

  2. Nobody, even Graham, knows everything that Yamato has planned. We know that Yamato will do more with the Mac+ valks and will do Mac0 valks. There will be other projects like a huge Monster, Q-Rau, and 1/60 GBP. I'm sure there will be more for the 1/48 VF-1's but it all depends on if there is demand for it in Japan. Like most other companies, Yamato remains tight lipped about their plans for the future. They don't want to give the competition any ideas and they don't want fanboys getting all worked up about something that may or may not happen.

  3. I don't care for the MPC VF-1's and I hate Battly Cry but that looks pretty sweet. I like the colors and for some reason it looks sharper than other MPC's. However, I remember being impressed with one pic of the Hikaru VF-1J that looked very different from the actual product. The stance in that pic was identical to this one so you have to wonder. It's still cool that Toynami is doing something different even if they are doing that stupid limited edition crap again.

  4. I ask for toys and such but rarely get them. Since the ones I want are hard to find in town or really expensive, I usually get other stuff. Video games are easier to get so I usually ask for a few of them.

  5. I used to hate country but I don't mind it now that I am a little older. All the new "new country" stuff is garbage just like most of the mainstream music. Old school stuff like Hank or Willie isn't so bad and some of it is actually pretty good. But I don't listen to it unless someone else has it on. I listen to a variety of music that I guess you could call alternative but freaking everything is called alternative these days. I hate this new alternative junk they got now where it is just like the butt/hair bands of the 80's. The only difference is that they are trying to pull themselves off as serious musicians. I used to and still dislike rap. It seems to get worse every year. The reason I hate rap is that it is just someone reading out lyrics very loudly while playing a record. Rock rap is kind of cool as so is anything where it is an actual band creating music.

Some of my favorites: BRMC, Spiritualize, The Pillows, Neutral Milk Hotel, Galaxie 500, Jesus and the Mary Chain, The Strokes, Jane's Addiction, Pixies, Curve, Slipstream, Smashing Pumpkins (only their old stuff), Wedding Present, Ride, Radiohead, and Calexico. That's all I can think of now.

  6. I still can't get in through smartftp. It tries to connect but then says: "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond."

  7. Just wait.  Yamato is redoing the Mac+ valks with better designs and hopefully larger scales.

really??? that could mean cheap 1/72 19a's in my future

I don't think the vf19a will be redone - just the yf19. The vf19a is pretty much a limited edition - a one time deal. There are rumors that both the yf21 and vf11b will be redone. Rumors also say Yamato will move to a two-scale release schedule - one small (like 1/72) and one big (1/48). But these are just rumors and even if they are true, things can still change. The only thing Graham has confirmed is that Yamato is working on a new yf19 and there will be nothing new until Spring 2004.

  8. I have never seen the yf-21 look any better. I wish I could see you work in person because I bet it looks even more amazing than the pics. I just love the metal look of the guns and exhaust tips as well as the look of the landing gears.

I do think you need to do something about the blue on the canopy detail. It just doesn't look right to me. I'm not sure if it is the color or that it looks more glossy than the rest of the plane. I also think the Macross kite symbols could be toned down a bit. The bright red really stands out against the tamer blue. Maybe it is supposed to look like that but I think it would look better with a little weathering.

I also agree with Capt Hungry. Pics with the 21 and the 19 together are a must.

  9. Wow, I am suprised to see that and more suprised that nobody mentioned it before if it was in a show. I thought Yamato was finished with 1/60 scale but I guess not. Cool beans!

  10. I'm not sure if I understand your question but I will give it a shot. To change the key binds for the controls, hit Tab and then use the arrow keys to scroll down to the control you want to change. Hit the enter key and then the key you want to bind to it. That should erase all the other binds to that control and only use the one you just selected. If you hit enter again, you can add other keys to be binded at the same time. To erase all the binds again, just scroll away from the control and then back. Hit enter and all the previous binds should be erased.

  11. Gakken is the only company that ever made Mospeada toys that I know of. They were sold in numerous different boxes around the world and Henshin Robo was one of them. Like the Legioss, Gakken sold the Mospeadas in different scales. What you need to recognize is the difference between the larger, more collectible Mospeada's and the smaller, cheaper ones. The one you posted is the large scale version.

  12. I still can't connect through SmartFTP, boinger. :(

I'm getting a "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" error.

Me, too. I got that before so I didn't think much of it but it has been doing that for a while now.

  13. Its not the peg...its the actual bar itself...its shredding the decal and the plastic. I have two brown 1A's and they don't have that problem, but my 1S and Hikaru 1A do. I'd have to pull hard to get it to not touch.

In that case, take it apart and sand down the metal doing the damage.

  14. Shredding sounds pretty severe but a groove is common. You can weaken the spring or file down the peg a little but that will mean the legs won't be as secure in battroid mode. I had to do this on one of my old customs because the peg was scratching off the paint.
