I am now really interested where the money is going to be allocated. Svea Macek is a consultant. Any which way you spin it, consultants aren't cheap.

At least, to what I've seen on kickstarter, those who want to make a film already have a script and go into more detail about it than HG has. It's more than just "best and the brightest in a school and they get attacked" then they hijack a ship and warp out. Ok, so the Branch Davidians attack the moon, which by the way makes no sense since there is already a military base on mars, the kids get scared, tuck tail and run. Leaving everyone else for Canon Fodder.

Then what? Do they come back with reinforcements and kick butt. It's so sketchy that I think they will make it up as they go along.

When will you begin? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on it.

If someone does pick it up, I'm sure HG will set terms that would be unrealistic in the real world. My guess is that they micro manage everything for the love action movie, and that's why it's not getting done. Their creative vision is worse than a dog's dream.

I bet that if HG allowed them to release their final segment to their fan film, a lot more Latin American, if not ALL of Argentina, would support it. Maybe even youtube fans that would be exposed to robotech for the first time.

They have a YouTube video with Cesar from Creavision. He doesn't say much about his fan project.

What if Big West lets by gone be by gone and agrees to make some amendments to the original contract with HG. Would that sorta patch some holes between macross and the hard core robotech fans?

I like em both. Robotech is a cartoon series all on its own using other cartoons. Macross rocks and holds it's own above the other super dimensional series.

I'm still not inclined to back the KS. I don't think established companies should use KS for their own gain. I always had the impression that it was created for the little guy. The ones who had ideas, but couldn't get investors to help out because of the potential risks involved.

Ok, this Academy is supposed to happen after the macross saga and before the masters. So, why are they creating mecha, shops, what have you, that doesn't resemble anything from either shows? Kills the continuity of the mecha design.

Even macross 2 had some sort of similarities in their mecha.

Btw, memo, Kevin, and mav. Are they really had much of bad guys, or just hard core fans that are loyal to "infinity and beyond"

They plug their story lines with megaroad, the hunters are found, they return back home, then go on and connect the 7 and frontier episodes and viola! You have another 30 years of products, remastered materials, added features, and bonuses etc...

HG was really never in the business of anime. They were in the business of making money. (yes, who isn't in business to make money)

But, (dare I say) monopolizing the macross franchise, trying to limit it to Japan only, and owning the name in various countries is just foolish. They can't own an name they didn't come up with in the first place.

If they were to come up with a solution with the distributing companies in Japan, skim off the top of the profits, and call it "royalties" for the name ownership, they would make more than the 500K they want to make a pilot.

HG banning people is like an urban legend. You don't believe it until it happens to you.

I've heard the stories, read the blogs, but, it hasn't happened to me yet. Then again, the RT website isn't interesting enough, and I'm not on Facebook often enough to post something. I might add soon as I get home today.

Some of those large cash (over 1k) backers might be fishy... With the limited information, who would risk a $2k gift on something that has very little guarantees.
