    QUOTE (Jester @ Jan 18 2004, 11:45 AM)

I wouldn't take that ARMD Data as gospel chaps. As its not found anywhere but Nanashi's.

With regards to the Guanatanamo Class Stealth Carriers they are supposedly being replaced by the URaga Class Stealth Carriers by the time of M7. But both Guantanamo and Uraga Class Carriers can be seen out of the window and through the floor in Mac Plus Episode 1. (Also orbiting Earth in 3 & 4.) If Guantanamo's are being phased out by 2040 they have got to have been around a while, probably 20 years byt he way that most Navies today work. So they are mostly likely from a few years after Flashback 2012. Probably close to the end of the 2010's. Same theory seems to hold for the Bolognese Frigates. Although they aren't being replaced.

The information found on that page is unofficial. I did not over make it up.

As Egan has stated "Guantanamo" is not the class of the stealth ARMD Carriers of

And only a freaking Robotech fan would call the ARMD Space Carriers "ARMD Platforms" : P

    :lol::p:D:)

I do believe it is a fair assessment that Hikaru's VF-1D, VT-102, was a trainer, but does that really mean that all VF-1Ds are trainers?

I believe NANASHI already answered this question:"The VF-1D is a Dual seat version Variable Fighter which is used as a trainer, a forced recon unit and can be used as a combatant with live-fire rounds.'

  3. Haven't seen the DYRL? yet? Dude, ya have to----it's like a right-of-passage!! Plenty of cheap bootlegs out there anyway, so not to worry! As for ranks and numbers, well let's just say that ya came to the right place, coz when it comes to anything and everything MACROSS, we have all the pros-- right guys?!!! ;):DB))

  4. Welcome, fellow GBP-Armor enthusiast! Like GRAND CANNON said, ya have nothing to worry about when it comes to the 1/60 GBP coz it will fit most VF types. But bear in mind and ya have been told, this is not going to be yer last valk, he-he!:D:)

  5. I think SHIN DENSETSU put it well when he said that it there is a cycle to the availability of VF-1 toys (i.e., BANDAI's). The other companies might not put out any new molds (I'm hoping not!), but I have a feeling that the YAMMIES are gonna be around forever, albeit w/ a dry spell or 2 every now and then. :)

And Yamato has let the plans to make upgrade kits fade into vaporware.

My feelings exactly, UXI! I was kinda hoping I'd be able to dress up my VF-1S, too!

Hey, RTSHARK, ya can always put up an order for the GBP-ARMOR if yer not able to do any modifications on yer VF-1S!! :D;)

It's just a white trapezoid. Similar to what the Destroid Spartan has in red on its missile covers

Hey, OPUS, look again! From that famous DYRL? shot, it doesn't look just like a simple trapezoid, there's a line coming down from the middle of that shape. It's kinda confusing coz what yer saying actually makes sense. It does make one wonder though!

  8. Hey, RICHTERX, I see what yer talking about--in the pic posted by UN SPACY in this very same thread. It does look like a ZENTRAEDI insignia, but of course, it might just be a coincidence.

  9. Well, I have missed out on the Takatoku and Bandai releases back in the 80's, being under 10 yrs. old back then ya can't really afford to get one of those MACROSS toys. That alone is my reason for having to spend so much on these YAMATO Valks! I've waited 20 years to get me them toys, and by God, ain't gonna wait any longer and plus, it's MACROSS!! Do ya need any other reason than that?! ;):D:)

  10. baronv Posted on Apr 8 2004, 07:21 PM

Is there any confirmation that the armor and valk set will not come will interchangable hands that can hold a gun pod? That would kinda suck if this piece didn't come with the gun and only the armor.

Could be one of the reasons why it's taking so long for YAMATO to release the GBP-Armor, but I do hope it's coming out in May.

  11. Yeah, why not?!!! I mean Yamato's already released the ones for HIKARU and FOKKER, why not complete the trio and come out with MAX'S?! Although SHIN is right, a VF-1A MAX TV would sell better! Now that one I will surely buy!! ;)

  12. Nahhhh!! I've also had a "Dry Spell" in having to buy VALKS! But don't worry coz ya can never get rid of that "MACROSS BUG", so ya will be buying some new ones again--if not soon! ;):D

  13. What attracted me first to MACROSS were the toys, but it was the story and the characters that drew me in! Could not afford to get me one of those BANDAI VALKS back in '84 but it's ok coz now I'm enjoyin' every single one of my YAMATO VALKS!! He-he, I guess good things come to those who wait! :D

  14. UN Spacy Posted on Mar 23 2004, 09:22 PM

Maybe it's because Shoji Kawamori had nothing to do with this series. It's pretty much a watered down DYRL with great character designs by HAL (Haruhiko Mikimoto).

That too was my first impression of MACROSS II!! Oh well, that's what you get for not getting KAWAMORI's blessing, he-he! :D

  15. I've been wondering about the same thing, V! But to tell ya the truth I'm happy YAMATO made their toys in diff. scale, this way we, as collectors, would have a lot more option and/ or variety. Take for example my own collection. As of right now, 99% of my valks are in the 1/60 scale. I do have a 1/48 of the VF-1S HIKARU, but of course, I consider this particular valk my price possession and that my friend is the only reason why I bought it in that particular scale. And as for the perfect transformation, one of the reasons might be that there's a degree of difficulty involved in having to duplicate the perfect transformation onto a 1/60. It's either that or YAMATO just got lazy! ;):D
