    Uhm, its not $50 an episode. Not even close. Disc 2 has 4 episodes at (going by amazon.jp)　6000yen (closer to 5000 yen if you preordered). Thats 1500yen per episode (or approx. 1250yen per episode if you preordered).

    Naturally theres postage on top of that, but really, spread out at one disc every 3 months or so, given the quality and episode count, I find it difficult to sympathise with anyone who wants to complain about the price - especially as a Macross fan who has gotten screwed over with much higher prices for less content (with no subs and not in HD) for decades.

    As far as a US release is concerned, my take on the issue is not that there are licensing issues, but rather the fact that SF is out of vogue at the moment in the West, especially among Western anime fandom at large. Then theres the fact that Yamato is largely unknown - to tap into the sort of nostalgia that would drive enough sales to make the show profitable it would need to be renamed Starblazers - this could run into licensing issues, objections from the licensees/licensors/fanbase, etc.

    Regardless, even if a US release WAS on the cards, I highly doubt we can expect an announcement until after the entire series has been released in Japan (due to both fear of reverse importation and the fact that the only viable business model in the US would require a box set).

    And i based the statement according to Amazon, they have the vol 1 blu ray for $106. But it's stated it only has the first 2 eps.

    But if that's incorrect then AWESOME! I never dealt with Amazon jp. Regardless, if they see a US release i will support it. But only as a season boxset. Just like i bought the StarBlazers boxsets. I always hated only 3 or 4 eps on a disc. I can wait. When they want my US money, they'll get it. In the meantime, i'm grateful for the high-quality fan subbed torrents that are FREE, especially since my geographic market isn't even considered in the creation of these. I feel the same way about Macross. I have the entire library of everything Macross and got it all for free. I only bought the latest BD due to the region free PS3 game. When Big West & HG work out there differences & want my money i will totally support financially.

    That IS cool... but do they have anything Macross related at the moment (whole games, not DLC)? That's the only reason I'd do make a Japanese account.

    I have no clue. But it works. And to be honest, that PSX DYRL is CRAZY FUN. I never played it back in the 90's & after the teaser that is the MBAP PS3 sampler, to have a full game was ton of fun. What's cool is once you download it you can go back to your previous user & play it AND you can install the game on your PSP which is where it's more suitable anyway.

    I finally took the time to unlock the Zentradi levels. Their mecha seems almost over-powered. For levels that were supposedly a 9, they were rather easy compared to the PSP levels.

    But for some reason I don't see Roy's VF-1s locked yet. But i am missing a couple SS ranks.

    I really wish they would just release a full game already. I would love to be able to tune these Valks.

    So is the VF-4 playable in this game?

    If it is, i haven't unlocked it yet. :(

    Once you beat story mode mission, the 'EX' type versions of the levels unlock. And so far i can only play Hikaru, Max & Kazikazi. (No Roy yet). The Valks options are with the Super parts or not, but no tuning options. I'm only about halfway thru those 'ex' missions. These are tough. I've seen Miriya & a Regult playable in the previews but i don't know what it takes to unlock them. Probably going to need a bunch of S ranks on the 'ex' version missions.

    I'm still waiting for a walkthrough or atleast a trophy list...

    The article you linked did say what the scale is. It's 1/35 scale.

    Glad they fixed it. It was 1/350 when i posted. I should have known better. ;) I wonder what kind of price tag that would be. Imagine the shipping cost.... :blink:

    Nice! Although they made a typo, if its 16ft long, its not 1/350. I have the 1/350 Bandai kit (not built of course!) but I would guess its around 30-36 inches when finished.

    :lol: i knew something didnt seem right about that scale...haaa. I wonder what scale it really is?... regardless The Yamato is a worthy ship to have a 16ft scale model.

    Yeah, the voucher was only LE version. I would buy it from someone, because i know there will be several that go unused.

    And this game would be even shorter then the PSP DYRL levels, if not for the EX versions that become unlocked once you beat the story mode. Atleast they allow you to be other members of the skull squadron.

    But seeing those VF-1's in PS3 graphics almost makes up for the shortness. I've got a bunch of SS ranks & about halfway thru the EX missions & still only one trophy.... must be more to this then we know.... :D

    Yeah, I used to love Sony, but in the last 20yrs, they've really gone downhill and seem to be against the consumer!

    They forced an update, sometime last year they snuck in this Cinavia copy protection into an PS3 update and now I can't stream a lot of legit Bluray backups I have from my WHS media server.

    Yeah, that Cinavia update is farking annoying!!!

    Also, i'm willing to buy the voucher for that PSone game if no one wants it. PM me if you are not going to use it.

    I'll try mine when i get home tomorrow. My PS3 may already be up to date after the last few visits to the PSN store this week.

    There is something that you can do when the PS3 is slow & has hiccups after a mandatory update. I'll see if i can find it. I've had that problem a few times in the 6 years i've had one & there is a type of soft reset that clears it up.

    Oh is this going to be the official Trophy hunter/ walk-through/ tips & tricks thread for this game or is that somewhere else?

    Not all. I believe they put a lock on Persona Arena. But that's coming out in a week or so over here anyway.

    A japanese game with a US Region lock?? that's the first i've heard of it.... NOT A GOOD SIGN...

    So I just recieved my Box set as well. Loving it so far. Of course it's all in Japanese but what the heck. I can live with that.

    My buring questions for those in the know, is the PS1 Game Code Voucher. I have it in my hand, but when I try to redeem the code via the Playstation store is keeps telling me "The code you have entered may not be correct or may no longer be valid. Please check your entries." Of course I've checked. It could be just not ready yet, most the the time the store does not update till Tuesday in the U.S. Still wondering if I'm the only one experiencing this.

    Well you have to have a japanese account on the japanese PSN store. Then log in & redeem the code. I've seen it done on Xbox but have yet to confirm the step-by-step instructions for Playstation.
