  1. Tornado Messiah VF25G by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr IMG_20110423_122756 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr IMG_20110423_123012 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr I just love the last pic, the way the wings fold in and make that V shape with all that weaponry in its back. I am so copyrighting these poses. The last two poses I took are kinda crappy as I used my Droid camera cellphones, sorry if they are crappy. Um, I think I may have reposted the first one, I'll edit it later if I did.
  2. While it last!?? Man...I plunked almost $250 when this badboy came out, day ONE!, this Bad Mofo is lasting me a LIFETIME - I treat it even more gentler than a real life baby!! And is STILL good as the day it came out. And yeah, it has it short-comings (crappy plastic? I can't tell), but then again, I have no idea, even by then - how did people transform it without taking the Armored Back Parts first!? - but by then the horror stories came out. me, I take almost 45 minutes transforming mines, making sure no scratches in tampo-printing (minor ones, but I plan to "touch-up"), no stress in the back joints where it causes the most stress. I make sure I do all my work, and be TOTALLY free when I'm doing this. Hell, I put the GF on hold, buddies on block, family to the curb..hehehe How are the BackParts, I could care less about the plane - I just need the Armored parts for re-coloring for Alto-use. BTW, I'm sorry about your Messiah - its a shame man. You ain't the only one with a beef with Bandai. And also, if you thought that was bad, the Tornado Parts on my VF25G are EVEN MORE HEAVIER than the Armored Parts (including that huge Missile Pod and the parts in the wing turbines) so I take real good care when transforming and always add those parts after the Mode change has been completed to avoid OVER-stressing the joints in the back. Maybe I should make a new post in how to transform these babies as I already got a system down and everything. Cheers.
  3. Also, wow - those Tamashii stands ROCK!!!! hopefully if my budget permits it, I may buy one more - I got two so far - yeah, I'm a Yamato stand hater, I bought one thinking it might fit my YF21, and man did I get yamatoed (it only fits Fighter and Gerwalk, no Battroid....) But these things are pricey, coming in at $60 plus shipping and handling, but worth it. If you do take the plunge MAKE EXTRA sure the seller includes the Battroid attachments , as Bandai didn't release them with the first wave, however most sellers should sell them included by now. (I heard there was RE-release of these stands along with the Tornado parts and powered set, tamashii web-only check to make sure) DSC02724 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02745 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02729 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02731 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr It just adds so much drama and effect to the already-awesome-you-should-go-and-buy-it-now Tornado Messiah . Yes, I'm glad I didn't buy the first release which included the Super Packs because THIS one knocks it out the ballpark into the stratosphere. Did I mention it COMES with the POWERED SET parts? 4 piece of tabs that tab in the turbines (why!? don't know but it makes it look like a plane out of a space plane arcade Darius perhaps!??) AND perhaps the biggest micro missiles POD I have ever seen in a plane (those things look like extra fuel tanks). Anyhow - a great Messiah to have, comes with a freaking awesome set and a freakin stand that is compatible WITH ALL modes (you hear that Yamato!?) NineBreaker OUT.
  4. OHHHH YESSS! Nine Breaker here: With the advent of recent news of the v2. Messiah in production, many are rushing to sell off their old v1. valks. "But NB - v1. are crap and not possable, they suck!!! and you suck too NB - I'm can't wait to sell my Armored VF-25S!!" If you fall in the above category, send me a pm, I need a VF25F Alto Custom Armored parts to custom paint. Anyhow - check out my new pics: DSC02787 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02767 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr Also I want to sincerely extend my apologies to those who DID NOT pick up the Tornado VF25G....... BECAUSE IT IS SOOOOOO F*CKING AWESOME!!! DSC02746 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02724 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr Will put more pics up soon. NineBreaker - Out.
  5. wow - that does look nice, but I'm afraid that super/armored packs might be a tamashii bundle. According to XE as of now, its $182...so with S/H we are looking for a $200 ish in average for just a VF25 Messiah with no add-ons. As someone mentioned, we are looking at Yamato prices.
  6. Like I said before, all this non-sense with the VF25 DX Messiah Ghogokin series V1 not being able to pose or crappy knee motions with certain packs (Super) - if you got creativity, some knowledge you can push these figures to the edge. Me, I'm skipping on the v2s. I love my collection too much.
  7. HEHEHE - but no, You can actually bend the knee in Tornado and Armor Packs - check out my pose posts. But you are right, you can't bend the knee on the Super Pack versions. Armored Messiah VF25S by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr Tornado Messiah VF25G by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr I'm not rushing to buy anything. Also if you didn't know - there seems to be cracking stress issues on the yf29, I mean common' we all are responsible grown men (yes I said grown men), we just gotta treat our Valks like they were babies - Mine has no defects, no cracks nothing. And is staying that way. And here's one for the road, and yes, it's my collection.... DSC02753 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr V1s can't be posed my ass.... 8. I hereby declare myself the first YF29 durandal owner in the US (nevermind, posted too late) Ok - I haven't transformed yet but here's some nitpicks. The stand - ok, like it just "rests" in the stand in fighter mode - it doesn't even clip in like the older vf25 series, very stable but nonetheless, a bit kinda like "huh". I can see why, the part where you usually clip it in, is no longer there, there's 2 upper "open" tabs (the same where you will clip the leg crotch pieces, this mechanism replaces the tab where most people connect the tab in Battroid mode) and there 's 2 lower "open" tabs - its just nitpick anyhow. Paint application - wow, yes, I hate Yamato (their f*cking valkyrie stand is sooooo crappy, the variable stand from Bandai for the Frontier series blows it out of the water) and I can see why Bandai takes the ball here. HOWEVER, I can easily see how a lot detailing paint and tampo printing can be easily scratched off in the the middle of transformation, its a tradeback I guess, more app detail however so is the risk of you scratching something... I think someone else said that the outside turbine wings were a bit fraqile, ahh..not quite but I can see if enough force and brute force can damage them. Besides that, I can see why a lot people are eager to buy the v2 series, there is a lot of improvement done in the yf29. Also I like how the shield part stays flat, and a movable fingers in one hand (however Bandai is nice enough to throw you extra set of hands) Yep, $210 well spent!!
  9. Well time will tell if this new line succeeds. Bandai is simply pulling out the old saint seiya ex line re-release. I come from a popular ss forum where 90% pretty much own 20+ myth cloths, I don't know until now, what forum member down there is willing to rebuy the whole line because of these new improvements which were major!. (Not too many where thrilled with the idea, we digged the appendix, which made huge improvements, at a low cost without buying a v2 figure) New body, redesigned armors, more posable, more faces, movable cape. Like I said I see the same thing happening here, unless mw ers have even deeper pockets than I thought, the question I want to ask, how many own all v1 vf25s and are willing to buy again. Success of bandai making more v2. Vf25 will depend on the improvements, accessories (super packs, armored packs, etc) and durability not to mention price. However seeing how most of us reacted towards bandai's ex saint myth cloth line v2 were not that great, ( I don't speak for a whole forum, just comparing our reactions to a v2 release) in wonder what the future bring to the v2 line. Just saying. Like I said I ain't buying unless either its compatible with the addons most of us own, or no buy. Is just too much to rebuy (like someone said, damn bandai if they make most addons web tamashii specials..)
  10. wow - that is great news, as for me - I am happy with my v1. Valks - limitations or not. I have seen they are capable of being posed around just as well as any other figure (some tricks added) - in the last 3 months I have bought the vf25G Tornado Messiah and the RVF25 Super Messiah Chogokins, 2 variable stands. and 3 ghosts + yf29 on the way. Call me a happy man, there is no way I'm double dipping unless Bandai can make those v2. Messiahs fit with the old super-packs, armored packs, and tornado packs - then for me its worth the risk - no way I'm plunking $900 again.
  11. ............. Is this official, has it been confirmed, or is this just a rumor...??
  12. Anime-export just billed and shipped my YF29 from Japan, attention all AE customers should be getting their bills by now. I can't wait, and I got my third Ghost on the way - oh happy day, I just need for Bandai to announce its Super Pack and we are good.
  13. I just hope the the whole "wings retract" mechanism doesn't scratch the paint or tampo printing off....
  14. Head's up MWers Anime Export just started sending email invoices that they have it in-stock, (for those that pre-ordered0 asking for shipping options/payments. Its finally here, lol. Just as matter of time for reviews and pics.
  15. I SECOND THIS - It did HURT to pay up front for this baby, but seeing as it sold out everywhere, I feel much better - damn, this figure looks awesome!!
  16. well I call it yamato arm stand, most of the forum from what I have read call it "yammie" arm - anyhow, any stands out there that will fit in Battroid mode? I been going crazy trying to make it stand in the yammie arm - and yeah, I don't have that stand in that picture - anywhere where they sell that stand? I almost feel like I got "yamatoed" I really thought the yammie arm would fit all modes, I feel so much better about forking $80 for that Macross Frontier Stand.....Why would Yamato put out a stand that can't fit ALL modes....unless someone got a perfect stand - I hereby declare my hate for Yamato...
  17. I concur - I need to fit either THAT or something else IN A YAMMIE ARM
  18. HOLY SNAP!! really - please help me, I been stuck trying to figure out how.... FOR 1 HOUR!! I just see no way to make it fit, I even unscrewed something, can someone hunt a pic or please provide graphical evidence as to how to fit one in a yammie stand..??
  19. Hello, NineBreaker here - anyone know A GOOD STAND that will fit the YF21 in BATTROID mode? I just bought the yammie valkyrie from HLJ - and wow, IT SUCKS! I don't know how to make it fit in BATTROID - any help!? HELP!!!
  20. Very nice. Btw, anyone got the tamashii smoke clear stands? I got two incoming, I was wondering if anyone else got them
  21. Very true - BAD Hip placement - it really kills almost any movement of the leg whatsoever (and since it diecast, with enough movement it can scratch off a lot of paint which will be noticeable in fighter mode), but nonetheless you can work around them - but given how awesome they are, can't help it but love these freaking figures. I would encourage everyone to realloy get out your Gundam, or in my case, Micron pens and really start panel detailing as much as you can - it makes a very striking difference, I'm currently detailing my VF25G, and wow that blue is really overwhelming in some parts, but with many black lines running in panels it looks even great! BTW Chunkiness = equals jacked up figure ready to lower a wimpy figure's value and self-esteem down. VF25S gotta be alpha dude. (gotta stop watching WWE tough enough, it kinda downhill since that MS. USA left...)
  22. I really don't see what the huge complaints are about the figures (mainly the Bandai 1/60 DX line, which I am referring to), I think they are great and yes, they have some shortcomings, (given the price we paid for them, hell, I guess its only logical some people would be angry) As for me, no lose shoulders or stiffness, yes they seem a bit fragile when it comes to Gerwalk mode, but easily fixed with the extra parts included in the Armored Messiah or the Tornado Parts add-on which give great stability to an otherwise a very floppy Gerwalk mode. Fighter and Battroid modes are very solid - hell, I think there is a lot possibilities when it comes to posing them, you just need to be ingenious about it, (check out the pose thread). I don't know about the rest, but I am happy and very pleased Bandai DX line customer, already put down my order for the Durandal, and I hope eventually we can get pre-orders down for the Super Pack parts (for both VF27 and VF29 as Graham has posted the possibilities of one being made) JENIUS - check out HLJ, I heard they are having a sale in VFs - I got a YF21 at an insane price of $120 minus shipping which I am expecting to be $35 EMS - THAT is a steal given the prices you can come across at Ebay. Now if I can score me a ghost DX add-on for my RVF25....(I have one but not willing to pay $170 for it, I already paid $110 minus shipping for one, its an outrage!!)
  23. Thanks, working on some great kick-ass Gerwalk poses now. For now, gotta go back to detailing my RVF25 and VF25G panel lines
  24. HA! And many haters say the Bandai DX line are a floppy mess, the joints give out, too expensive, garbage. Well goddam*!t, I'm here to prove 'em wrong! Starting out with the big daddy himself the VF25S Armored Messiah. DSC02704 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr With closed hatches: DSC02625 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02627 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr With missile hatches open: DSC02719 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02698 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr different angles: DSC02665 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02647 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr VF25G Tornado Messiah with powered parts: DSC02637 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02634 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr DSC02715 by Supreme Pontiff Ares, on Flickr HA! and they say they are too bulky and impossible to pose, Fort Knox...its for tourists. (Recently got done with Die Hard with a vengeance) - but thankfully a bit of inspiration from the Bandai Koenig monster and the way the stand was incorporated into their poses - you guys get the idea - I will explain further to work them out, but for now I don't want to take too much of the thread. Very stable poses, shake them and still very good solid poses - the back parts are sooo heavy that I have to agree with a lot of people that the plastic joints CAN break if handled or given too much stress (what kind of an idiot would transform them with all the parts in knowing damn well how heavy those parts are) The Tornado Parts of the VF25G are even heavier than the VF25S Armored pack. Nonetheless excellent figures which are very done, and manage to draw all the attention of visitors and guests alike who walk into my room BTW I haven't seen too many poses like mines...I haven't checked out the older threads, if there are - sorry, but give me more frontier DX extreme poses!! EDIT: wow...bummmer - had to re-fix the html tags.
