  1. I guess that's fair. I kinda was hoping for something a bit more, I guess. I mean what does the VF-5000 offer that the VF-11 doesn't?

It's a good solid design in every mode, doesn't rely on magic folding frontier chest, and has a good 1980's vibe. To me it looks like the updated VF-1.

  2. It's been a while since I've been on here, just moved into a new apartment and I started unpacking my Macross Collection. But I've always loved this community, so I'm back.

If you were to pick a design from any Macross product (Show, movie, game etc...) To bring up to Advanced Variable Fighter specs, which one would you choose?

I'll kick it off. I'd probably choose the VF-0, since it was the first, UN Varibale fighter to see deployment, It seems logical. That and the fact that it has the original feel with the more modern design cues, it kinda begs to be brought up to spec.

  3. saw the entire series and i can say it was good, still i felt a little down with the conclussion of the story and the last dogfight.

maybe they decided to have DD and nora killed by the AFOS since they knew that nora and DD would have won the fight, however in the last fight nora actually let her guard down when shin surprised her with a transformation and a serie of attacks so perhaps nora could be shot down but not ivanov who actually was the best pilot in the series. in episode 4 he was playing with his pray, always in control of the fight and this was actually the only time i saw focker in real trouble, if it weren't for the reinforces focker would not have made it out alive, even if his fighter was shot down and he bailed i bet DD would shoot him when he was falling with the parachute, because DD is way too sadistic.

It always seemed to me that Shin was the better pilot (over Nora), but his unfamiliarity with the VF cramped his style. Even looking at his first encounter with Nora in the 1st ep, I believe that he would have been able to take her if she couldn't have pulled a transformation on him.

  4. Not available in your country or something? Just curious, as I never got the downloading thing.  Usually it's just teens who want everything for free.

Because these aren't on DVD? Show me where they are. I can't believe they would publish them on DVD before they've even aired.

Sorry...for some reason, I thought you were downloading the original series. On a side note, DVD plans are in the works already...Uni and Sci fi already knows they can sell the first season (after they air of course) and six scripts ordered for the second season before US air date of first is almost unheard of.

Well... if the DVDs aren't too far away I guess I won't worry about it then.

  6. I had d/led a few episodes to watch and got a C&D letter from my ISP. Wondering if I had gotten a honey-pot. Anyone else get one? The episodes were tagged FANTA. I've heard from a few other people who complained of getting the C&D letters who had pulled those same eps.

  7. My take, for what it's worth.

Sara survived, taking the destructive power of the nukes and containing it so it would not harm the island below. She then left the planet which was full of kadun.

Shin was falling into the ocean until Sara showed him the way - he "hears the song" and finally understands it all. He pulls a David Bowman on us, literally becoming the bird man under his own power and leaves to find Sara. The last dip in the water? That was the point at which Sara left and he finds the power within himself, bursting from the ocean in a dramtic rebirth.
