  1. Here's a shot of from DYRL - I'll look to see if I can find some lineart.

I would love to see the GO Traffic Light, on the bottom right of the picture, as a followup piece!

I also like the exposed twin tube idea. It would cheaper, easier to build and more accurate to DYRL's AMRD Launch procedure.

  2. just opened my misb miriya super vf-1j 1/60 today... backpack hinge was broken..:(

    ...

just want to know if anyone had the same problem on any of the 1/60 backpack hinges..(ie. broken) and was able to fix it? by ordering parts? instructions etc?

    thanks!!

I think you can try to super glue the hinge back on but depending on where it has cracked, it may or may not prove effective. If you read through this thread, it seems Yamato's replacement policy is nil, does not exists.

Hopefully Monkey N can offer and update.

    Good luck!

  3. 1. Glaug Commander

    2. Destroid Spartan, Tomahawk and Phalanx 3 Pack for 120 USD

    3. Regult Regular, Scout and Missle Carrier (with large and small missles) 3 Pack for 120 USD

    4. DRYL NOUSJADEUL-GER 2 Pack for 70 USD

    5. DRYL Q-Rau Purple 2 Pack for 70 USD

    6. Destroid Monster Variable from M:VFX (might as well get the latest version!)

That would be a start and give the army builder guys out there a chance to put together some kick ass dioramas.

I would followup with a VF-1 CF Two Pack or a white box two pack unpainted for customizers (all 3 heads) and then follow with M+ or M:VFX updates such as VF-11C Armored, VF-4G Lightning and VF-17 S/D kits. Hopefully the YF-19 FP and YF-21 FP will get updated to 1/60 with more details.

Most of what I've written WILL NOT HAPPEN due to demand vs production cost. Gundam is testing the US market and unless something happends, Macross will remaind a much much smaller second place. Sigh.

  4. Nice promo with CGI from Macross VO and your in game shots.

My concern is if WC:SO's engine allows for full hardware AA and 3D effects, then it would look great. The teaser had a lot of old software FX so it looks a tad outdated in the graphics department. But gameplay is key and I wish you the best of luck.

Looking forward towards your first release.

  5. And finally a large render of the last version with "no step" signs in the wings, white ailerons and pilot name (myself!)

    Regds.

    Mighty "Iceman" Gorgon

    :D:D:D

Sweet! Might want to clean up the AA a bit but other than, brilliant.

Now can you produce the same shot but with different squadron and color schemes? How about an Enigma, Blue Rose, Low Vis or something like that?

    Keep it up!

  6. You can't deny this would be a best seller if Yamato made one of these. Who wouldn't buy one?  B))

I have been voicing my opinion to have yamato to make this.

Here is Studio Half Eyes 1/100 VF-4G Lightning III Resin Kit with FULL TRANSFORMATION. I would buy this in 1/48 scale from Yamato or anybody else RIGHT NOW at the same or higher detail level:

Someone tell Yamato this is a Fan boy only release. Yeh Right! :D

  7. ... unless they resculpt and do the double cockpit..then that opens up the D, Elint, and Ostrich...wonder if they will go that far....

Chances of 1/48 two seaters are very slim.

    Graham

Slim until I get done with the AG project...

It looks like Yamato intends the 1/48s for Trophy cases and not for those "complete" collectors. This has me thinking about selling my 1/48s so I can have the full 1/60 line but after comparing both in detail, I can't accept less than 1/48 detail.

So what is this AG project? Garage kits for the 1/48s? Please let us 1/48 guys know and offer a glimmer of hope!

  8. Recon found Tony´s speech on the first day very interesting...

LOL! I joined you guys after Tony's speech but I caught the Movie Edition of it on the last day of tour. It was a very interesting show... er... talk indeed, unlike the long 36 episode version you guys got.

    Kekeke...

    BTW: Great pictures Sebastian!

  9. Is the clamp itself spring loaded or in a fixed position? I know if these were real, it would be on hydrolics but I was just wondering.

Can you post more pictures of the clamp pieces itself? Valkyrie can probably add the details back on through the use of Wave or Kotobukiya parts before re-casting. It does look nice so far.

Hopefully we can get the arms to look similar to this one detail wise:

  10. Edit: I re-read your message and I think you simply want to switch your menus and interface to English right? Read this article but it tells you the MUI pack is for corporate users only.

You can made some applications such as office switch to English by changing your regional settings. Goto START | CONTROL PANEL | REGIONAL SETTINGS and click on ADVANCE. It should list your preferred language and change that to English. Note that your system will display that menu in Japanese so translate it. Pick America or England or whatever you prefer. It will ask to install some files from the CD and reboot.

Your OS will still be in Japanese for the menus but UNICODE aware apps will now be in English for certain dialogs and such.

So, back to the original response:

First backup all your important stuff to CDR, CDRW, DVDR, DVDRW, another HD, etc...

If you are strapped for time, boot into Windows XP Japanese, insert CD rom and attempt to reinstall. It theoretically should work, but will require you to use the CD key from the English (American) version.

Your Japanese applications should work but the fonts will be all messed up. I'm running Japanese applications on the Chinese version of XP and those apps do not display perfectly, even with the proper mime type installed.

If all goes well, you're up and running in an English environment. If not, you will need to wipe your boot partition and install XP from the CD during bootup. Basic setup without downloading SP1 or post SP1 patching and installing all apps from scratch is at least 1 hour (49 mins to install XP, at least 10 mins of just pressing enter, continue, entering your cd key, setting your time and local settings, etc...).

Personally, I would backup, wipe HD and reinstall OS, followed by SP1/post SP1 fixes and updated drivers. Then install your most used apps and games. Forget about stuff you didn't use over the last month. Install them when you need to or think you need to use them again.

    Good luck.

  11. Now I wonder what I will do with 1/60s...

Maybe just leave them in their boxes till 2030 when they worth something.

You buy GBPs for all of them and WAIT for Yamato to release the 1/48 GBPs, then you sell the 1/60s with FP and GBPs in a nice custom box. :D

I don't know if I want to continue on the 1/48 line since there will never be any villians of that scale for me to stand them next to, but I was waiting for the M&M set though...

    Hmm...

  12. Looks like 1/60 will be the "one" scale. Which I'm happy bout. :)

1/72 could be another alternative. Don't remember what the speculation said about the Zero toys, but hopefully 1/60. 1/72 wouldn't break my heart, either. But looks like 1/60 for VF-1. Next enemy (Q-rau) at 1/60. And hopefully 1/60 M+ (and VF-X2) to follow.

If Yamato continues to work on the 1/72 scale, I could be happy about it but ONLY if they revise their molds and sculpts to include or better yet, be on par with Hasegawa's details.

After you come the 1/72 YF-19/21 and VF-11B to any of the Hasegawa models, you realize Yamato can improve significantly, as shown in their continued improvements as they ramped up in scale from 1/72 M+, to 1/60 DYRL to 1/48 DRYL.

I'm at a stand still for completing my Macross mecha line as I await to see what direction Yamato will take.

Then again, If Yamato won't do 1/48 Villians, perhaps someone on this board or one of the garage guys can work on it...

  13. If you watch Macross Plus, you can see most of the full detailed cockpits and note how the monitoring system wraps around the pilot so he can see front, top, bottom and sides. Having eyes in the back would have the pilot turning around to see what was behind him.

As most have said the multitude of radar and threat sensors to warn you of proximity and imminent danger with that full screen hud is overwhelming enough.

  14. Jewlers Saw - won't do straight lines (like the modelers saw) but does curves wonderfully. Very accurate, but very hard to do perfectly straight lines with such a fine blade.

For a project that I'm evaluating, I need to cut curves. Do you have a picture or recommendation of said Jewlers Saw?

I just picked up a BIG 1.5" deep model saw for 3 bux. That has got to be one of my better tool deals next to my 20 piece file set for 3 bux.
