I just got the other game with Sky in the name, the gameplay is above the Rim so far .
-
Cool, sounds like it could be a good jumping point for me to watch it.

Just wondering, Who holds the rights for Macross Plus & Macross 2 in the US and other countries outside of Japan? If things happen like everybody's hoping but not holding their breaths on, these might finally get a Blu Ray release over here. Also, since Toynami aquired the Robotech liscense from HG, would this mean that there could be apossibilty for Bandai's and Yamato's USA divisions to release Macross toys if the demand for them would occur? *really wishful thinking, I know*
-
Yeah. HG selling assets would be even worst.
How so? They would go back to Tatsunoko. Does Bandai work with them much?

This actually reminds me of what George Lucas told the author of "The Making of Episode 3" book on the first day of shooting. Lucas told the author that the movies were actually being told by R2D2 to the "Keeper of the Whills" , 100 years after the events occur. In both cases, we may never know the true story. In the mean time, enjoy your space battles

"Robotech"... American for "Macross".
I actually had to explain to my younger brother that Robotech wasn't American Macross at all. So there are some people that really don't know the difference.

I can't wait to get a VF-1A, I mean a W.A.S.P. ! Seriously, I'll bite, already reserved a name.

How come we can't vote posts down?
Probably too much butthurtage, you should have seen it back in the day at tfw2005 when you could.

My friend's guy " Q-roid by wiki " create
Could someone translate? Babelfish gave a weird translation.

Yeah, if people would read the 1st post of this thread, you would have seen it. In fact, it was posted back in April of this year: http://www.macrosswo...ndpost&p=906104
It's a standard procedure and I explained it here: http://www.macrosswo...ndpost&p=906135
But you know...people don't read the 1st post of this thread (Heck, I posted the list RT stuff of what WB licensed from HG).
You know, the HG crew and lunatic fringe come here just to read this thread. They probably saw our comments and called up the lawyers' office.
Oh, ok- I should have clicked on the link.
Also, to Tommy Yune, Kevin McKeever, Memo, and other mega superfans of Robotech that come here to see what us "Lying Macross Purists™" are talking about- Thanks for giving us laughs over the years .

When are the Prime toys coming out anyways? Next month or December?
-
I just read on there that Harmony Gold actually had the gall to try to trademark Macross in Japan, I mean really? Who at HG actually thought it would be a good idea, and that it would actually happen?
-
Because we're anime purists and snobs while they're only interested in it for Robotech.
Of course! Then again someone who lurks here that posts on RT.com would probably think that you're serious somehow...
-
I guess that's the difference between RT.com and here. We don't really have rules that'll get you banned for liking that stuff. You can say that Kawamori sucks and it won't get you banned, unless you make it a mission to try to convince everyone your point of view, then it's just trolling.
What if he really does suck? There are lots of straws in Japan, so maybe he prefers to use them on his drinks .

Ok, first of all I want to make an apology for making a post in this thread less than 20 mins since my last but something just occurred to me. If Lucasfilm flaunted Luke Skywalker in front of the fanboys and really not doing much with it like how HG is doing with Rick Hunter, would Star Wars still be laughed at as much? *Aside from the special edition jokes*
-
Edited, please delete post.
-
And thus, the wait is on for the fansub...
-
On the plus side, at least its something from HG to keep the 5 robotech fanboys at bay. It might even still have the fabled and great holy Rick Hunter in it.

Wow, not bad. Sign me up for the final product when you're done

Does anyone by chance have reproductions of the side covers that come with the 1/48 GBP armor set? I wouldn't mind having some for the lone 1/48 VF-1S that I have.

Except, per Robotech.com:
So,, doesn't he kind of flat out say that his change to the Mospeada ending along with Shadow Chronicles itself is relegated to secondary continuity? Stop me if I'm wrong guys.
-
Could someone kind of explain what the post with the link means? I don't quite understand it.
-
The only thing that I'd probably correct you on there, is the fact that HG does have money, and tons of it. How much they're willing to spend on Robotech, that's a different story. It seems like Frank Agrama only views Robotech as just a small pee-on piece of the whole pie. Unless the LAM gets made, to him, he probably won't think much of it. It would probably be the difference between the franchise being worth a couple mil, verses $50-$60 mil (example and not precise figures, of course).
I have a serious question. Why is Robotech even still around, even in its life support state? I mean, there really hasn't been any sort of product released since Shadow Chronicles, other than re releases of the same series that was released maybe 6 years ago at least. It really seems like this franchise has dried up and run its course, and all Tommy, Kevin, and others are just beating on its dead corpse. The "sidequel" might generate some interest, but if it's the same quality that Shadow Chronicles did, it probably won't do that much to bring in new fans. I mean come on, we haven't even had a major Robotech video game release since the last console generation.
